Didn’t know where quite to put this but here goes nothing.I just wanted to say Great job for the game thus far and all the improvement you put in… this is y i continue to play and buy things in the TP and support on other sites. Keep up the good work but i have to say don’t stop improving….. many things in the game need help and i just want to bring one up….. Guilds Cry out for new life!!!!!!!
I was just thinking about this topic this morning. The biggest thing for guilds in guild wars was the robust system they had. Guild could capture different zones or points in the game and display what they defends. Why cant they do that for some of the zones in Gw2? Why can a guild defend a base against the Krait and get recognizing for their endeavors?
I dont want to add in the Guild halls so I wont but they then to add in more missions for guilds. I thought when they built the guild leveling system it was amazing. And about a year later they did the missions. Crazyness!!! But what is the driving point for guilds? Before you would see allot of people on in my guild but now you only see them on the day we do a guild mission. More missions and hate to say it but some missions should be instance based for only that guild so there are no conflictions to other guild around you and more involvement to the ones reping your guild.
Right now on our server we have 3-5 ‘Big’ guilds that have different focuses but gather together for like mind achievements. We have our WvW focus guild with our Community base guild and our World event guild as well. Not that the guild only do those activities but they open that up for the others and share information to our others for support. That right there are alliances and we should have a system put in for that.
Lastly is the management and funtionality of the guild system. The data we have is good but if we have a person that hasn’t been on in a while we have to check like last contribution to the guild or like late time they earned an achievement to do a scrub. Also the fact that you want to encourage people to join different guild (up to 4) but no cross talk to theres.. really.
Guilds are family, warbands, groups of people that strive for the same goals….. right now its just a system there to have people get the benifits up and if you have people that will put more effort they will have other attivities. I love the game and fully support all the rewards and success that Anet has gotten but they cant just stop with pats on the back…. continue improving.

Hybrid
Direct DamageMobility is ok thanks to runes of the traveler and lower cd on Blink. Burst comes from stacking might and vulnerability, up to 10 stacks bleeding add some condition pressure. Stats with full buffs see below (hybrid version).

Im running the excact build… with a minor change in runes and traits. I’m using the runes of holbrek for the might stacking and less condition duration and for trait wise i use iv in domination for the extra vul. stacking..
I need to change my armor but im waiting till the change the crit so i see if its worth it or not. Glad to see another blade mesmer lockdown hybrid.
Plain an simple I have been playing gw2 for a while and would like to get in a group/team to do some matches together. I do really well in solo queue, usually top with score, and have some kind of top stat ( revivals, kills, treb kills, cap etc. ). I play well with team fights and can do some ok back capping.
Mesmer is a hybrid interrupt build with might synergy
Thief i a can do stun locker (sword/p ) or stealth burst both with stealing synergy ( boutiful theft and thrill of the crime.
As I would very much like to see Mesmers being able to wield a Pistol as a Mainhand option I wanted to post an different set of abilities; based on a suggestion by Crion.8465.

Aimed Shot: Fire a powerful aimed shot at the target.- Illusive Separation: Roll to the left or right and summons a clone that rolls in the opposite direction (Evade 1s). Clone then uses ‘Double Shot’.
- Chaos Barrage: Fire several shots with your pistol. Uses both pistols if one is equipped in the offhand (like the iDuelist animation, but damage remains the same).
I’ve been playing a Mesmer for quite some time now (and still love it, despite certain changes in the past), but it still feels as if the Mesmer is severely lacking in the choice for mainhand department, as if it simply wasn’t a fully finished class at launch in terms of weapon choices.
Only a Sword or Scepter remain as options for mainhand, which feels rather minimal; especially considering all the other classes. Only the Engineer seems to have even less choices, but can make up for it with all their kits.
Also, there are 2 illusionary pistols in the game; Lyss and Ilya. To this day this still leads me to believe that it may have been the original intention to include a pistol as an option for a mainhand as we already have it as an offhand option and a Master trait (Duelist’s Discipline) that affects pistols (plural).
Lastly, there is the pretty odd positioning of the Offhand Pistol skills when viewed from the weapon selection screen in our Hero panel and it all feels like theres a piece missing in our puzzle; as if it was originally intended for Mesmers to have pistol as a Mainhand option but not implemented at launch.
As such, I sincerely hope that ArenaNet would want to consider adding the pistol as a mainhand weapon for the Mesmer. Personally I would love to have more options available to me as the current choices simply do not seem to mesh well with one another.
(And the concept of finally being able to wield both Lyss and Ilya on my Mesmer is very appealing to me.)
So I would really love the choice of one more mainhand weapon that focuses on being a true Power based weapon. And to me the pistol could be that choice as a 900 range (1200 when traited with Duelist’s Discipline) weapon. This would allow ArenaNet to modify our scepter to take up to its own true calling; an actual condition based weapon.
Currently Jon and the rest of the balance team are trying to figure out what to do with the Scepter’s identity crisis and its very awkward auto-chain. Having a Mainhand Pistol would allow them to turn the Scepter into a true condition weapon while allowing the Pistol to become a viable choice for power based attacks.
For me having the mainhand choices of Sword, Scepter and Pistol would complete our puzzle and give us a full set of weapons where each has its own identity and function.
I like your ideas… to me this reminds me of the gw1 mes a little. I would just add maybe a chill condition … this would really put the lock down / manipulation back in to the mesmer
So i really do not like the staff on Mesmer. Don’t ask me y , maybe its the fact i like close to mid range fights. Also the build here are all zerg gear. Is there any builds with like rabid gear for the added toughness and condi? I want a retro lock down build but with some added flavor.

I’m so use to the traditional Mesmer from guild wars one. You have constant interrupts or manipulate the opponent’s life/ cast. Playing the opponents moves like a puppet and and getting them madder and madder because of the lack of control of the fight. But people fail remember that the Mesmer was originally the Fencing/ caster class. I guess its just me but i think that the Mesmer has gotten to the point where you keep your distance and rip boons off and just stack conditions.
I feel with the last build and balance changes i can finally bring back the fencing and interrupts. My build is as followed:

This build is great for either parts and there are multiple swapping your can do on the traits in the tree but i run this one currently in wvw / spvp.
I went with 30 points in dueling because lets be honest… fencing … dueling.. on the same table to me. I use trait one with conjunction with Blink and Arcane Thievery to get boons off of a pest guardian/engi. If running in pve you can switch the blink for Signet of Inspiration so you can rip boons off the boss and copy then to your party. I use 4 and 12 for now just to get the added burst with Blurred Frenzy.
On the Chaos side 3 is a given for the cd on all manipulation. This is great for spve and dungeons for your Manipulation of Life to get your party Mesmer for the some what free rez. 8 is amazing for the free boons and added might. Grand master on chaos can be changed; i use it currently for the lyss build and the free escape in spvp and WvW
Lastly to help with condition removal i use 4 in Inspiration.
Im using Lyss runes at the moment just for the added condi. removal and free boons. I also have a set with with fighter runes for the added might. Rabid armor is the most beneficial for your bleeds/ confusion. The added toughness helps with the Chaotic Transference to add more condi damage.
Now for rotation. For me if im running around and just need to get to point a to point b with out getting hit i run the 2 swords for the blocks. This is also great in Orr for the pulls that the casters do or in WvW/ Spvp with the sneaky thief coming out of no where. If you can get the intrupt off from the counter Blade you get the chance of quickness and get a random boons / 5 stacks of might.
The heal spell to me is a must. Mirror has 2 defensive components:
1. It heals for almost 1/4 of your heal.
2. It reflects projectiles back to your enemies.
This is great when running / kitting enemies like harpies/ rangers/ casters. with the runes i have this gives me another random boon but with fighter it gives more might for more damage. I would have used the mantra recovery but the heal isn’t that great and ether feast is a longer CD plus I’m not trying to have illusions up at all times.
When I’m assaulting i run the sword pistol. Popping Duelist before entering is great to get some bleeds and damage before entering. Then popping Leap which will immobilize them and Blurred Frenzy to do damage and get the Distortion. If timed right you can get a bullet off and get an interrupt for more might/ and boons. Don’t for get…( like i have so many times ) you have Diversion (shatter F3 ) for another interrupt.
You will be getting stronger and stronger as time goes on with the vulnerability stacking from your number 1 skill and added Sigil of Frailty. To the point even guardians if timed right with interrupts will be nuked
This build to me feels more like the fencing / caster i left in guild wars 1 and brings back the rants from many players " Mesmers and their stupid constant interrupts!!!" The added escapes like decoy and invis are great for getting away to get some distance before coming back in to finish them off ( some what like a thief) let me know what you think.
Well, you might want to ask Gaile very nicely if she has time to look into this. Keep in mind she is the support liason. She does a lot more then just listening to us and she is awesome in way she tries to help, but limited in her time. She prolly need your friends support ticket number.
What I don’t understand is that your friend is claiming to have an erromessage: ‘Connection Error’ while this specifick error doesn’t exist when looking at http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Error_code (it’s either network error or connection problem). These all indicate a problem when connecting to the game servers. The support person however is telling that his key (account??) is locked.
I don’t want to stand between you and your friend, but something isn’t logical in the story as your presenting it here. It just don’t add up.
When an account or key is locked they can always explain you why. Besides that, it should result in a different error-message.
To behonest I am on the same page as you. There was this huge issue with gamestop with him gettig the code in the first place and now since he has no proof of purchase its causing huge issues now.
Also i could ask Gaile but I didnt want to bother them since they were nic enough to replay to my post…. but i might……
So looking at the market and i saw a huge spike on April 3. It looks like some one bought out almost all of the scales and then sold only 43 at a set price. …

Wel update on situation. The person that was helping him said that his key on the account was locked and now has to go purchase the game again. For some reason they wont say y but this sucks….
Now all his gear and stuff we work to get him is all gone….
More likely it will just be some GM trait in an underused line and add a negligible bonus like “+1% more damage for every boon the enemy has”.
I wouldn’t get my hopes up when it comes to GW2 PvP
Well for this would be amazing against Guardians and Eles seeing how they are stactking about 5-8 boons at a time. But seeing how this could make it difficult for PVP, im seeing your thoughts on that.
So I have been reading the forums alot for a while and seeing the mutial issues that people are having in spvp. Thieve,Warrior underated and Ele op-ness. I read one thread with one of the Treads talking about “BoonHate”. This is a nice concept but i could see the result in two ways:
1. Thieves and warrior will trample over Gaurdans and Eles and there will be nothing but Eles and Gaurdians complain on forums.
2. Necros and Mesmers will be come useless since the converting boons ability will be trashed. Not saying that they will not be in groups but saying that this will restrict them to only using Condition builds and not use the converting skill.
I like the concept of this new talked about skill but how it is implemented needs to be consider wisely. Quickness being reduces of speed raised alot of concerns. ( alot to the thieves and warriors and some to rangers and engn. )
What are other thoughs on this “Boon Hate” idea.
This is a well developed website and i have to say kudos. The problem i see is that the records are based off the clearing times. Well that is all in all good but remember that you loss the chances of getting loot on speed clearing. This was mentioned before by arena net.
So recently my friends account got messed up some how. Keeps getting Connection Error. We been through all the troubleshooting steps ( restarted the router, repaired the client, changed password, and redownloaded the game again ) and still no change. I even tried on my computer in a totally differernt area and still no good.
He made a ticket and said that he went through 3 gms and they all wanted his game key. Well he had a huge hassle with Gamestop to get his key sense he moved and they woundn’t give it to him unless he picked it up. Finally he got some one to give him the key and he got on…… Fast forward to now … he doesnt have the key.
We thought that the 4 number after your account name was suppose to elimate the hassle of the cd key. ( ex: name.####) I had a hard time in Guild Wars 1 with the cd key because some one stole my account. Cd keys are lost many of times and it is very frustrating to have to find them and then get the .." well no cd key no game " senario.
So what is the point in having the 4 numbers behind the name if this does not help get your account back up and running? Because of this he cant play the new instance nor access the game as he pleases. The has to be some other way to get his information to verfy that it is actual him that is requesting to get the game up and running. Name his character, armor, guilds etc.
I would love to hear any suggestiong from people to get account infromation to areanet or a simple explantion to the random 4 digits.
If you remove hot join you will destroy the new player experience.
You won’t retain any new blood from players that try to test out sPvP if they are sent straight into a tournament with a build they have never tried, on a map they have never played where they don’t know what to do and where they will be expected to know what to do by their team mates and ultimately cursed at and ridiculed because they are a noob
(we know that will happen because that’s what many PvPers act like to new players).Remove hot join and people will head to WvW instead, you won’t continue to get new players so the sPvP community won’t be able to grow, only shrink.
This isn’t 2005, players have different expectations now, and most of GW2s player base didn’t buy the game just for PvP, very much unlike GW1.
The hot join format needs to be reduced down, streamlined for new players to give them a better experience, and place them on restricted servers with ranks 1-9 only.
When players get to a certain rank, around 10-15 they should be encouraged to try Solo Queuing for a Tournament by the UI.
Ideally before this they can speak to an NPC that will explain a tournament and basic current strategies, things like bunkers that hold points, roamers etc to them, a short video would do wonders here – like the short videos in Aion that explained the concepts of PvP there.
If done right this is just not true. Dota 2/LoL has a much steeper learning curve, are much harder games and have far more complex battle systems, but new players are expected to know exactly what to do from the very beginning. Those games are doing just fine. The fact is that Hot Join does not in fact teach a player how to play Tpvp, it has nothing to do with tpvp. Having new players play a different game than what the main focus is, is a bad idea. When you play LoL do you play something different than the pro’s? How about Dota? The answer is no.
I completly agree. The leveling for the Ranks should be used to enable you to do rank matches. Yes its hard to level but during that time frame you can be bettering your skills and learning how to work as a team. I would like to see a fixed system that LOL / Dota has be placed for GW2.
To me hot join is a mess. People go in to learn how to play their character against people ( 1v1 ) and others are in that WoW mantally and just for pks. To me if you want to do that go to WvW. If they do keep the Hot Join build up something for the more competitive players. Ranks, leagues, brackets, and tournaments that will keep the more competitive players around. I stop doing the PVE stuff recently to try out the pvp system ( since i was famillier with gw1 pvp ) and its like there is no since of accomplishment there.
Grind to get your gear skins and kill people till you get to Dragon…. seriously thats all. Come on now. Im not whining nor am I QQ’ing. Just offering some suggestions for a game i wish to successed like its previous game. it has so much potental…. dont let it go to waste please….
