Have you had an unjustified Ban? GW2 oppressive algorithms?

It’s like being handed a parking ticket when you did nothing wrong. You get angry and feel frustrated, but you don’t yell in the street that you’ve been abused and it’s unprofessional service by the police.

You take the matter to them and it gets resolved.

If the police (in this case, A-Net) turn around and say that it’s my fault, I will be taking it higher.

Due to an injury I spend 24 hours a day at home, of which about 12 are on GW2 (the rest are eating and sleeping). In the unlikely event that my account has been hacked (no items gone, no change of password requests, no unauthorised access requests and no reports from guildmates saying I’m online at weird hours, spamming gold messages) I’m pretty certain that it’s just a misunderstanding, and I hope it’s the same for you too.

If, though, like I said, they say it’s my fault, I will be happy to take it further, but until that happens, keep your cool and be calm.

I hope everything ends up being resolved amicably. Personally I think you’re overreacting.

Scunge, after reading your post, I think the exact same has happened to me (minus the fact that you paid extra money for gems). I tend to move from zone to zone posting a recruitment message, so we have almost identical symptoms. Sure, I’m a little aggravated that I cannot effectively organise my guild, as I’m also a guild leader for 70+ members, but you’ll have to deal with it like the rest of us.

Is it an automatic ban? No idea. But I can say that my account has not been compromised, as I’m currently off work and spend most of my days on GW2, and I have not performed anything illicit while playing.

That said, you’ll just have to wait. They’ll have a handful of support staff vs thousands of tickets. They are doing what they feel is best based on evidence.

And as Rotha said, you’re not the only gamer with a problem. Get a grip and remember there are others who are in the queue, too.

About us
Who are the Ebonhawke Falcons?

A casual-social guild that explores all aspects of gameplay.

A Brief Rundown
Ebonhawke Falcons is a guild founded in honor of Ebonhawke and the battles it has lasted through following the searing. The guild is in spirit of this city and will uphold the same standards, as to never surrender and always fight for the just.

Even though Ebonhawke is a city founded by humans, it is open to applications by all races, as long as you have same spirit and tenacity.

What We Expect
At the core of it all we are a casual, relaxed, community of players who just like to enjoy the game.

Here’s what we look for:

- Age 18+
- Honest
- Open-mindedness
- Fairness
- Friendliness
- Willingess to be a part of a social, fun, community

Am I expected to be online a specific number of hours per week? No.
Do I need to attend every event, or a specific number of events?* No.*
Do I need to be a Roleplayer? No.
Do I have to PvP? No.

So I can play the way I wish? Yes!

What We Do
As stated in the first sentence, we are a casual-social guild. This means that we take gaming with a pinch of salt. It’s only a game, no need to run a dictatorship here. We will not decree what you should and shouldn’t do, as long as it falls within socially acceptable means. You play exactly how you wish.

We are not labelled as a PvE guild. Nor a PvP guild. Not even an RP guild. Rather we’re happy to have the options available, rather than dictate what you can or cannot do. This is the restriction of dedicated, hardcore guilds that play a specific style, such as RP. You find yourself required to do certain things all the time, and you’re not allowed to necessarily do what you want. This can of course be exactly what some folk are looking for.
We don’t work that way. On the flip side it does mean content in a specific area is lessened as not all our members may roleplay, for example, so our roleplay contingent may be reduced. We do have members that dabble in everything, so if the casual attitude to gaming is what you’re after, then we should be perfect for you.

We do PvE.
We do PvP.
We do RP.

None of the above in a strict, rigid, fashion, but approached in a way that’s fun. The use of our forums and events system should keep everyone notified of upcoming guild events.

This guild is made for you. If you want to see something done, suggest it to us. If you think we can do something differently, suggest it to us. We’re happy to see good ideas for events or even ways we can manage things differently.

Why do I need to apply?
That’s boring and time consuming, I just want in!
Applying is necessary for a few reasons. Most importantly, it creates your Forum account which is used to login to the guild website. Once logged into the guild website you can create your character (after being assigned permissions by the leaders) for the roster page (see below). This is essential due to the fact that our events system requires you to sign up to events with a character (similar to how guildlaunch works).
You are giving us an insight into you as a person. Anyone could join a guild, but we see ourselves more as a family. We don’t like having groups of strangers.
By applying you are also giving the leadership a clear date of when you applied and joined. This is useful for us to work out your time served which is a basis for higher promotions and advancement.
