I got my second 24 hour purchase window and managed to get my gems. I then got a reply saying EVERY TIME I WANT TO BUY GEMS I NEED TO CONTACT SUPPORT.

Are you serious Anet? You’re doing nothing but making something simple overly complicated. Just get rid of your broken system, unless you enjoy causing customers headaches and making them incapable of using a game feature. This is completely unacceptable.

After 8 pages of replies about this problem I’m pretty surprised that they haven’t made a public response yet, or even acknowledged this issue in one of their Game Status Updates.

The issue as it were, is with NCSoft’s systems, not Anet’s game. How much Anet CAN do about it is in question at this time. Keep in mind here NCSoft elevated my ticket to senior account management staff about a month ago – and I have not heard from them.

Well NCSoft has a phone number to call when it comes to billing and account issues, which this is as far as I can tell. They even have a live chat system, which is only available on Mondays for some reason. Why aren’t we being told to directly contact them or make a ticket on the NCSoft site instead? Wouldn’t that make more sense and take a load of ticket’s off Anet’s shoulders?

Which is all well and good if you live in the US. And if you make a ticket on the NCSoft site it’s the same as making a ticket here. All account related stuff for GW2 is immediately forwarded to the NCSoft Account team so it doesn’t matter where you make the ticket. Chances are live chat or a phone call would yield the same results as an email/ticket.

I’ve been getting the impression this forum is for Anet to know of the issues so they can lean on NCSoft’s support team – I’ll take a wild guess here and say the gem store team (Anet) have been in the dark about all the accounts being flagged as high risk.

In short the only people they may be able to help directly in this thread are the people who were able to purchase gems and didn’t get them. There are two separate issues here – Gem Purchasing (like me) who have been flagged by NCSoft’s system and hence cannot purchase, and those who CAN purchase and/or bought stuff from the gem store and haven’t had gems/items show up.

Was waiting for a reply like that. I actually called the number the other day, last Friday, since I was fed up with the long wait time between replies and was redirected to contact Anet since they deemed it as a “game issue” and not a billing or account issue. I managed to get some progress done on my ticket and got a 24 hour purchase window which of course is not working. I replied to their response letting them know it’s not working still and have yet to hear back. To be honest this is really the worst experience I have had with customer service/support for a game. It’s worse than EA and Ubisoft and that’s saying something.

Their “security” system is complete garbage seeing as all it really does is cause nothing but issues. Banks and Credit Card companies already have their own forms of protection so why add on to that, especially with a broken system? No other company that I can think of uses it’s own system like this. They need to get it of it and all the headaches it’s causing will go away.

Even with my “24 hour purchase window” I am still getting the same exact errors. If anything I bet it reflagged me. A+ work.

Made my ticket six days ago, got a response a few hours ago with no new update/reply…

Both my PayPal and Credit Card are having issues.

Incident Number: 120829-011103

Got a reply saying my account would be able to make purchases for the next 24 hours…

Well that isn’t the case. I am still having errors. This is really getting ridiculous. I am very disappointed in the support being given for this issue.

If you want a way to see if you can run any game, go to this website:

Helps alot

As said before. That website is very very inaccurate and not reliable.

At http://www.systemrequirementslab.com ya can check if your pc can run whatever game you like, yes GW2 is in their list.
However If you want better than minimum, there should be some recommendations on GW2Guru and/or the wiki

That website is very very inaccurate when it comes to rating computers. Never use it.

OP, what is your spending budget? You can build your own computer and save quite a bit of money if you feel comfortable doing that, or use a site like iBuyPower or CyberPower PC to build a desktop for you and have shipped to you completely built.

Buying a gaming laptop for GW2

I have an Asus G53Jw 15" laptop with a dual-core i5, GTX 460M, and 6gb of ram that I use for gaming when away from my desktop. Got it for $1000 from Best Buy’s website back in February. Plays the game great with a mix of medium and high settings at 1366×768 (max resolution). I get about 50+ in normal pve zones, 35+ when around huge world boss fights, and 30+ in WvWvW. Anything from Asus’s Republic of Gamers laptop line would be great choice for a gaming laptop.

BUT check out Sager, http://www.xoticpc.com/custom-gaming-laptops-notebooks-clevo-sager-notebooks-c-51_162.html

You can customize a laptop to fit your budget and specs that would fit your needs.

Stay away from Alienware, they’re very overpriced and don’t last very long (speaking from personal experience and what my friends have experienced with the brand). Falcon NW is also very overpriced but have much better build quality than Alienware.

I made a ticket on the 29th of last month and only just got a response today about it. Hopefully it gets corrected soon and I don’t have to wait another 6+ days to hear back…
