Yeah those aren’t hard numbers to hit with a basic exotic like a Pearl Greatsword at lvl 80. My gear is lvl 75 rubbish but my sword is exotic and my ‘Hundred Blades’ move consistently crits for 7k-14k, starting low and ending high and regular attacks will crit for 2.5k
It is ridiculous to have rules against swearing. They are words just like any other word. In fact they are a useful tool when you want to add emphasis or strength to a statement. It’s the people who choose to be offended by these words who turn them into “bad words”. If people don’t want to see bad language, don’t touch the filter and then you’ll never know the difference if someone typed $(*(&%^& or an actual bad word. It’s your fault for turning off the filter, which is on by default.
Then again, if it’s in the ToS, you’re outta luck =P
I think it was put in when people started farming that event in Orr that has you lure risen to an NPC so she can fight them. Well, if you instead just farm the horde you could get limitless xp and items. But I know from experience that after so many kills they just stop dropping items, wasn’t this way in the beginning though.
Best advice for ex WoW players I have is.. please don’t muddle up the chat with your complaints. We know this isn’t WoW, it’s actually a big reason why we’re here
to edit: I played WoW for 5 years so it’s not just blindly hatin’ on WoW and I didn’t play GW1 so I’m certainly no fanboy here but for me this game is a hundred times better than any other MMO
Let me put it this way. If your wrist doesn’t hurt from holding down the right mouse button you’re doing it wrong.
I went to play another comp game today ( don’t ask why) and I died twice in a row from cooked grenades and I couldn’t figure out why at first… then I had to remember that in this game right mouse click is grenade toss lol..
And as far as playing a warrior goes. I’m 80 all ready but even when I was leveling all I did was keep my weapon up to date honestly. At lvl 55 I found myself still using armor from the teens. Level 17 boots and chest to be exact. But, keeping my weapon up to date (was doing weaponsmithing to ensure it) I just slaughter everything. Even in the story quests. Using a greatsword is super easy imo. Hundred blades, to spin out, to throw weapon, charge back in use burst skill, swap to my back up hammer with seal of hydromancy if anyone is still alive and blow all those cool downs. I don’t do ranged with my warrior, feels wrong lol. Though, the bigger fights in this game are definitely meant to have people dropping to their butts and needing to be gotten back up every once again. But you can keep this to a minimum by staying mobile and using weapon swap to your advantage.
Considering when you hit 80, you continue to “level” and earn skill points it almost doesn’t matter. So, if it pleases you, you can purchase them all eventually. Though, i recommend signets. They apply self buffs and have nice activations. Also, there are some things for the mystic forge you can buy with skill points i.e. the Eldritch(spelling?) Scroll is 50 skill points
I see way too many order requests where people are attempting to buy an item for less than its vendor value. Did you know the game won’t even let someone sell you an item for less than its vendor value? Guess I’m a little frustrated with how cheap everyone attempts to buy things. It’s even hard to sell lvl 80 exotics for a good price. People try and order them for less than the material cost, that’s just silly. Even if I gather ALL the resources myself (globs of ecto aren’t that easy) 2g50s isn’t worth it. Not for a lvl 80 exotic. I’d like to see more sellers stick to their prices and force the market upwards.
Oh, and I made a post a few days ago when I was 65ish making 65 rare weapons. Someone flamed me about my prices claiming they will NEVER sell if I keep the price high. Wanted to mention that they sold =) Might have taken 3 days but I got my sale just like I knew I would. Took a little time is all.
Trying to sell crafted items on the market is a nightmare. Yesterday a 65 rare sword i was making wouldn’t go for less than 44s (which is low all ready btw) on the market because I wouldn’t let it go for less and there weren’t many makers and now there is a bunch of people listing them for 34s just to make a quicker sale?(should also mention the slew of orders for this sword.. at 20s.. HAH you cheapskates it costs that much to make from scratch!!) Also, selling blue’s and green’s is a waste of time because most of the items for matching lowest seller is 1c above the merchants price. With a listing fee of 2c or more.. you’re officially losing money. Sad state the market is in, people letting buyers control the heck out of it.
Wish more crafters would stick to higher pricing. Plenty of newbs who’ve bought gold from websites to buy our stuff. Let the cheapskates make their own or find it.
