I still loathe the town clothes change with passion, but virtually everything I have to say about the issue has already been said.
BUT. I’m here to share something about the new costumes that came to my mind a while ago: dyeing them. Curtis said earlier that the costumes will still be dyeable, with up to 4 dye channels depending on outfit. However, I’m concerned that something like THIS will happen.
On the left there’s the fancy winter outfit dyed like I want it to be, each piece dyed individually. If I’ve understood correctly, after the patch that colour combination won’t be possible anymore, because it uses 5 colours in total. Worst case scenario, Anet will ruin the dye channels like in the picture on the right – my pants and vest don’t match anymore, the boots and gloves are the same colour as the coat, etc…
And of course some more creative dye jobs, like having the top and bottom halves of the coat be different colours entirely, will definitely be impossible when the pieces can no longer be dyed individually.
(Fashion is SERIOUS BUSINESS.)
Did someone say that they can’t make the town clothes into armor skins because boohoo clipping issues? Have you ever looked at how much the already existing armor skins clip with each other?
Enclosed: Human t2 cultural light armor + some boots not from the same set. This is what we already have to deal with even without mixing armor weights or town clothes, and Anet hasn’t shown any signs of caring at all before. Why would they suddenly start now?
I still want the REAL reason for this town clothes change, spelled out clearly, thank you very much.
I have just one question: WHY do you do this? I honestly can’t see any sensible reason for this, so please explain. I know that many people didn’t ever use town clothes at all, but some of us really loved our casual outfits. Why do you have to take them away and replace them with inconvenient, undyeable tonics?
I think that town clothes should not be all or nothing.
I love to use my Wintersday town clothes on my human male, but I really hate how the hat looks on him. I much prefer the coolio aviator sunglasses that he is currently wearing.
I would be very disappointed if he always had to wear that hat. x_xI do like the Mad King’s outfit on my Norn, but I would also like to show his face while wearing it. I would also be very disappointed if he had to wear the pumpkin head all the time. :/
This! Please let us still at least hide the hats (and gloves too) like before. It’d be best if you’d still let us mix and match, but even getting to hide the ugly hats is better than being forced to wear them all the time.
Yes outfits are all or nothing.
Yes wearable in combat. There will be no non-combat equipment anymore, unless you count tonics.
Does this mean that I can’t hide my fancy winter outfit hat and gloves anymore, or wear the reading glasses or fuzzy quaggan hat or any other headwear with the rest of the outfit? That’s just absolutely ridiculous, because I hate the fancy winter hat and it makes my character completely bald.
Same problem here. All the hints in the tab are marked as found but the achievement says there’s still one missing.
