Thanks. Let’s re-iterate and summarize.
1) The queue randomly puts you into a different tier than your home server.
2) The queue randomly assigns you to one of the two currently underpopulated sides. You have no control. If you leave WvW, you are back in your home server.
I’m not suggesting that this the perfect solution to all problems. I’m saying that it will help get some players into fights, and help some servers get a bit of a population push.
-Jeff
Sounds like a good idea to me. I’d queue mercenary rather than sitting in a BL queue during prime time.

In order to make WvW more fun I would like to see the amount of supply increased so that players can partake in the construction/upgrading of towers/keeps themselves and be rewarded handsomely for it. Right now many towers don’t really get a enough supply to keep the worker working, let alone enough if 2-5 players want to put in the effort and build it up. It would also force the server who took something to leave a bunch of people there to upgrade/construct it and defend it. Players will need to be rewarded in karma and badges.
Just an idea.
I say we get rid of the workers and let players do the upgrading. It would be interesting to add skills of a crafting nature to let players have construction skills. Instead of increasing the amount of supply at camps, get rid of the silly Skrit and Centaur camps and turn them into additional supply camps. I like the delay on the X’s, gives scouts more of a role, but I don’t like the siege timers, way too short.

I think wvw being included int he world completion is a great idea…
I agree, after all, it is not really “World Completion” if you leave out a part of the world is it? I think there are some options for players to get WvW maps completed. Gather up some friends and pitch in and help your server open the POI’s you need. If your server can’t open up one of the colors, pick a server that is dominating that color and transfer. lol the servers will cost millions not just a few thousands, good luck with a kickstarter for that lol
Well Mark Jacobs just raised 2.2 million on Kickstarter for his new Camelot Unchained MMO.

Isn’t that the guy who lost EA over $1 billion with Warhammer?
Yep, he was the lead when WAR was launched. Not sure he was totally responsible for the entire debacle, I am sure EA owns some of the blame too.

Second – the announcement of paid transfers was bound to cause this kind of movements. Dedicated WvW guilds wanted to consolidate into a few high level servers, in context of dwindling GW2 population. 100% predictable.
Life will go on and reach a new state of balance in a few weeks/months. Let’s stay classy and enjoy the game the way we can.
GL to all.
I agree, Anet dropped the ball by allowing free transfers to go on this long. Now with the announcement that transfers will be “pay for” only, folks that would have stuck it out trying to rebuild their server feel pressure to move now. I really don’t blame the players, there should have never been free transfers once the full match-ups started. Now the WvW communities must be patient and wait until things “settle” again. Obviously some servers will fare better than others, I hope the WvW community as a whole pulls through. Hopefully the Feb. WvW updates will be great and re-invigorate old players and pull in new ones.
While I am glad that we have received the coverage to face T1 opponents on more of an equal footing, I feel sad that it had to happen so quickly due to the end of transfers. I welcome all of the new folks to SoR, and hope they enjoy the community as much as I have.

Oceanic looks like this
a bit of a recurring theme >_>
It’s weird because since WM left our coverage in oceanic times in T1 was absolutely terrible, we’d get to < 150 ppt constantly and sometimes like < 80 ppt. I mean SoS has crazy oceanic coverage but we just had nobody at all, outmanned on our BL etc etc. I can’t work out if it’s the NA prime time guys staying up late atm, rallying for the new match-up, or it’s just the (or a new) oceanic crew re-emerging once more.
Could well be a morale issue. As far as I know, SBI has always had oceanic/asian guilds other than WM, and I’m seeing at least a few of them come out in numbers for the past couple nights (Yaki, Syn, NYS are the ones I know, I’m sure there are many others). First week of tier 2 could have brought them out in force whereas they just haven’t been so active in T1, for example.
TC and SoR in comparison have little oceanic coverage to speak of. I’m not sure a server such as SBI who has been in T1 since the beginning can understand how “little” we mean when we say “little”, but here it is. Nevertheless, the week has started out awesome and the fights have been great. Coverage will eventually kick in and determine the point spread, but what matters is that everyone enjoys the fights ahead!
Scores as of 12 midnight SEA time (GMT +8):
I agree with the fine poster from TC above. I was on SoR borderlands around this time and we had the outmanned buff. We could do very little to the crew SBI brought, not to mention the 5-6 golems.

Nice vid guys, always fun to see a smaller group taking on numbers and being successful. Glad to hear you guys are having fun out there.

Yes please come back Jang gun
You and wm were very appreciated here on sbi, and we need you to come back. also i must warn you, i have seen another very large guild (ruin) go to a lower european server. week after week they spawn camped other servers thru out the ranks, so much boredom, so little to do. people started to fade away into other games… the boredom of pve is not enough for pvp players to keep them interested. lack of badges, from lack of fights… lack of experience from lack of quality fights… by the time they got to tier 1, they were burnt out, so bored of game.. 90% left to other games… that extremely large guild of 900 members.. i maybe see 10 around now, scattered throughout servers.
come back to where you are appreciated, and NEEDED!
Didn’t Ruin leave Euro’s server and transfer to Blackgate?
Ruin as it was known is dead, its like 5 players left who still actually play GW2.
Ah, ok. I saw some of them running around with the ND guys in the SoR BL this morning.

OP, do not worry about coming to T2. I play on SoR and have been really enjoying fighting against TC, they are usually fun fights and the players are respectful. If you guys are suffering from Oceanic coverage, it sounds like the servers may have more equal numbers. Hopefully this will promote a more balanced matchup, with a lot of fun fights. Try to maintain a positive attitude, even though you guys are moving down a tier, you may end up having more fun.

@ferguson “I tend to use the free portals or walk everywhere.” I do that somewhat too, but would be nice to have a few more gates like the one between Divinities Reach and Ebonhawke, particularly as then you wouldn’t have to follow the same routes so often.
I agree, I would like to see a few more free portals between major hubs. That would help defray some of the travel costs without having free waypoints everywhere.

Player controlled Dolyaks. Create an object like a harness that players can buy and allows them to spawn a Dolyak that they can load with supply. Once loaded they can lead it to an area of their choosing. Make it have a limited life span and a limit of say 40 (?) supply. Also rules like it cannot swim or it swims very very slow only on the surface of the water. Can also add a burdening feature where it moves slower the more supply you add.

Some nice ideas Mad, I especially like the donating for upgrades and overflow server ideas. Not too crazy about rewarding points for kills, should stay objective based.

Great matchup, have had a lot of fun this weekend. Lots of great fights everywhere, especially had a blast early this morning fighting NSP in EB, pushing back and forth. Hopefully Anet steps up and takes care of the few bad apples, most players have no tolerance for this type of bullkitten. Looking forward to the rest of the week. See ya on the battlefield.

What I would suggest is that you allow us access to a bit more information through the WvW interface. This also serves to make sure people don’t feel like they are “in the dark” when queuing for WvW.
This includes:
- An estimated timer and current position in the queue (You are 503 out of 975, ETA: 45m).
- A way to see the maps and current queues for all WvW maps through the WvW interface (B). It should be possible for us to see the status of the current maps so we have a better idea of where help is needed (instead of needing to ask someone in WvW to relay that for us). This part and the above would also serve to spread out the queues a bit as people will primarily queue for the maps with lower queues.
- Fix the queuing bug, obviously, but giving us access to a bit more information would also allow people to more easily notice if they’re bugged (“Why am I still in the same position was I was 30 minutes ago? Maybe my queue is bugged”).
I agree with the suggestions posted above. It would help us immensely to have more information available when joining Wv3. If we knew what the queues were for each map, or simply had a “join first available map” button, it would be beneficial. That being said, players want to play with their friends/guildmates, so that is a large part of the challenge for Anet.
Another part of the problem with Wv3 queues is the free transfers. Even though we have guilds/alliances that do move to new/low pop servers (i.e. ET), there are people still moving to HoD and other ‘winning’ servers. Once the word gets out that the previously low pop server has a population increase and they start winning, other players will also move, causing cap problems again. One suggestion to combat this; once the free transfers close, allow guilds/alliances to apply for a free transfer to a new/low pop server. Also consider giving bonuses to these players that are willing to help out the game for everyone else some type of rewards for doing this (temp buffs, etc).
