Go beyond hack/stealing orbs in such a way that only the cheating server can win, go beyond night capping so that people wake up to another server having a 23234982340234-2783423 point lead, what is left? A server who is not only winning but holds the entire deck of cards.
Because of Orbs and night capping one server is able to take over the entire WvW map and then defend it easily with 150 to all stats. How on Earth did anyone think that was going to work or even be remotely considered a good idea? At end game, there are very few things to do, and the biggest is WvW. For those of us that play on servers where we can never win WvW it truly ruins the game. Why woulkittenep playing a game where because I am losing, the winners get a bonus?
Does no one at Arena Net see a problem with that? Not only does it create a mountain for other servers the next day, because of Orbs it becomes a vertical wall. I suppose it could be compared to spawn camping in a first person shooter. You just can’t get any where because you’ve lost before you’ve started.
Possible solution?
Rather than getting rid of Orbs, transfer the bonus to PvE. Instead of WvW players getting the 150 to all stats it goes into the PvE side of the game. This does two things. The first is it gives players who are typically only PvE a reason to get into WvW and fight to gain/hold Orbs of Power. And second it does not give an already unfair advantage a boost.
@Kiviar thats the thing, their guild is big enough they can take towers and keeps like its nothing. Minutes with or without rams and other siege engines. They want these places capped by other servers so they can come back and do it again.
@Tom Yes the majority of servers do this. Thus it is a problem with WvW and as a result servers like AR lose because we simply don’t have enough players NOT farming to keep any points.
As for saying its more effective sure it gets your server small immediate points, but when the enemy comes and takes it back any earning from capping become null as they enemy just got the same points. Then because they hold it after they take it, they also get the hold points.
Simple fact, there is no sense of working as a server; there is no benefit. Its “worth” more to run around capping than it is to be winning in WvW.
Tonight a few of my guildies and myself decided to join the battle and get into WvW to make a difference. It was great, until we noticed a trend. One main group did nothing more than run from one point to another capping and running away. No one stayed to set up defenses and actually attempt to hold the point. We even stratted and took a keep with just 6 of us. The Zerg showed up after to finish the job but then disappeared taking everyone but 4 of us with it.
No more than 5 minutes later the keep was lost as well as every single point they we spent nearly an hour to take. After getting fed up I called them out and there response?
Farming objectives for karma, influence, and gold. It feels like it is better rewarded to run around capping points than to actually stay and defend. Anvil Rock and other consistently losing servers will not win WvW until this stops. It truly makes WvW frustrating for those who wish to do it right, while others take advantage of the system.

Though I do agree having the ability to transfer the entire guild would be nice. Maybe in the future it could be something that costs influence to do? Like 50k influence or something that makes it a big difficult but at the same time still obtainable.
