Guild Wars 2

Hello all!

So today I’ve been looking high and low, to and fro, and all across the internet for information on the entire staff that worked on Guild Wars 2. Since I can’t seem to find ANYTHING about the full cast and crew that helped make this game I might as well file a bug for it. c:

The main reason I’m doing this is because I recently found out that a distant family member of mine is working for the game. I’m assuming he works in the art department, but I’m not 100% on that. I just figured he did because I wouldn’t imagine any company wanting an art major to head the coding for their game.

At any rate: I’d like to know who made this amazing game! Please tell us!

P.S. If any forum moderators bump into Jeffrey Webber in the art department: tell him that Nick still remembers when we played on the PS1 during Thanksgiving all those years ago. That was fun.

Hello, hello!

So today I turned on my computer to play GW2 and saw an odd glitch with my Shortcut icon. Instead of the red “2” the shortcut icon it was a white file icon with what looks like an old Windows XP rectangle and six squares. I then go to the source file for GW2 [Program Files (x86) > Guild Wars 2] and I see that the Gw2.exe icon is exactly like the aforementioned but with a small lock in the bottom left. Also, whenever I try to remake a shortcut for Gw2.exe inside it’s own folder I get a prompt that says “Windows can’t create a shortcut here. Do you want the shortcut to be placed on the desktop instead?” It then creates it on the desktop.

It may be noted that this was just a few days after re-installing the game via the physical Collector’s Edition (Rytlock couldn’t help me, by the way. He just stood on my shelf.).

Hey forums!

This is about the controversial “Ancient Karka chest”.
So I know everyone’s hot topic this week is “OH MY GOD THE CHEST WAS LIKE OH MY GOD!” Well I didn’t get it. After being on one server until we planted the first set of mines, being D/Ced and then having to do it over again on a fresh server ALL THE WAY up to AFTER we drop the tree on the AK and that one after it I had lagged out so bad I just couldn’t get back in the game, my internet was unavailable.
After spending about two and a half hours of nothing very fun I think I deserve a chest of equal proportion to the people that simply logged on for the last five minutes to get it. It’s honestly not the biggest deal in the world to me but I would really appreciate it if you could help me.
If you want you can ask:

Zerax
Spruce Willis
or Ned Starch

They could probably (Mostly Zerax) verify that Beauticus was there for a long time, never surrendering towards the ancient evil.

P.S. Sorry Zerax, I love you, but Spruce won the name game.

P.P.S. I had originally posted this a few days ago and it was taken down under the assumption that I had been demanding with the post. In truth my comments are (trying to be) very light on the subject as well as pointing out that I don’t like it when someone who “stumbles” upon the end boss battle five minutes before death gets a HUGE reward while I’m stuck being Disconnected. This is NOT a rant and I’m NOT demanding any loot or compensation, I’m just saying it’d be sweet if I got some. <3

I may be reading this wrong but it looks like you’re saying that the longer you hold something the more points you get. Doesn’t that mean that the server that holds 100% of everything 24/7, which seems to be a popular theme, would exponentially get more and more points?

But then isn’t that just a Mystic Forge with a health bar?

Considering the large amount of spam there is, I personally don’t read the spam messages and just report + block. I’m sorry, but taking the time to go through the wall of text that interrupts my game in a negative way is not worth the time. Hopefully you will get your account access back and hopefully you’ve learned from this.

If you truly do report people without even looking at what they say then I believe I’m the one that should be sorry for you. Just in this case, what you do may be more harming to a real person than hindering to a robot. I will definitely get my account back and I have learned my lesson to not mimic bots in chat, but for the wrong reason. I’ve learned that, although it was funny and did make a few people laugh, I should probably avoid doing it in the future due to people, like you, who carelessly flaunt their powers.

That quote also pertains to the ability to have another un-rightfully suspended.

Hello all,

I would like to tell you about a story. A story, although sad, bares heavy truth.

Today I saw a gold seller spam map chat in-game. Within seconds his macro was just pasted everywhere and chat was ablaze. In this confusion I mimicked his original message and added a few humorous elements to it; it was a simple jest. Although some people liked it it would appeared that others simply report ANY message in map chat that could remotely look like spam do to my near prompt kick from the game.

So an innocent joke had lead to a not-so-innocent kick of a kind, handsome player. This handsome player was denied game time due to ignorant peers who refuse to read what they do not want to and judge without eyes. Yes, I do blame Anet for this silly mechanic (That’s what “block player” is for), but I’m mostly upset with my fellow gamer.

Please think before you report. Now I have to wait for Anet to personallly see that my account wasn’t "accessed by an unauthorized individual.

Personally I think it’s perfect how it is. I don’t want to use the word “grind-fest”, but I do like the idea that to get this armor, the very armor that is the best of the best by the way, through a long trek. I always hate being able to get the awesome-est gear one day in, it just feels like it dis-values it for me.

Anyway, that was my two cents.
