Just an FYI TC has been #1 in server rating since practically Season 2. It’s hardly an underdog by definition.
Back on topic though yes if you’re looking for a 24/7 server that might be moving up YB/CD are probably your best bets. DB is [full] most of the time at the moment. Currently the only T2 server growing is SoS but it too is [full] all the time. FA is somewhat of an “underdog” being only [high] population yet ranked #5 if that’s really what you want.
A word to the wise though moving during a season is probably a bad idea. Just give it a few weeks and many server populations as well as ratings will fluctuate.
People using gem armor skins covering their Tier 3 is beyond my imagination.
Do people actually do that?
I did it on my Asura on my other account with Brahms armor. Twelve months of staring at the same gem encrusted plate gets old. Unless you desperately feel the need to RP in Rata Sum then it might be worth wearing the same set forever.
Why not just make a second set? :o It’s not really that expensive unless it’s Celestial lol
It is… lol

What gets me is how they think everyone wants a Roman gladiator themed heavy set? First my achievement helm now a gem store skin…
First wait until the armor is changed, if you liked it you keep it, if you don’t like it you get a refund.
Will we need to do this in the immediate moments following like the QQs that got it removed in the first 24 hours or will we have until the weekend?
Some frost norn cultural (we have enough fire
) would be good.
^ I like this idea, or maybe some lightning Asura!
You people that bought this set are hurt because you spent money and time in it. I am ok with that.
It really has less to do with that and more to do with the fact I like the fiery skin better on my ele. Much like you enjoy the normal skin on your mesmer. Dropping 130g is nothing to me but if I was to do it I would prefer having the option of this new armor that was actually appealing to me.
This. Unfortunately, Arenanet is just following what the community asks for. It’s not the company’s problem, trying to please the customers, the problem is that the customers are… well, don’t get me started.
The real problem is a minor section of the community cried and now another section of the community is starting to find out about it but only after Anet sided with the prior.
You are wrong at the very basis of your statement.
To begin with, the only representative part of the community is that which is active both in game and on the official forums. No one will force anyone to take active part. It is up to the interested parties to share their views, opinions and ideas. If the rest does not take part in the discussion on the official forums or in the game ( with whatever their motives may be ), then it is more than obvious they should not have anything to say with regards to some “minority crying”.
What is more, having in mind the above, it is a total mistake to say only a “minority cried”. The response was almost unanimous, and it is evidenced in the numerous topics, even the threads that included both sides of the argument were overwhelmed with the “dissatisfied” people. Hence, de facto, the majority “cried”, as you ironically stated.
Not to mention that ANet did admit that it was not the best idea to introduce a skin that is a “refined” version of a cultural armour, which in turned has been underlined on numerous occasions to be exclusive to appropriate races of Tyria. Therefore, it was, de facto, not a “cry” but a correct response on the overwhelming majority of the community.
To sum it up, you have no point here and posting such disrespectful and half-baked messages is wrong. Reconsider your behaviour before you ironically offend the majority that voices their opinions. Thanks.
It’s up the community to inform itself there’s an active debate taking place over the first 14 hours after release of an item they may have gone to work after buying that determines the entire future of said item? Please…

Yes and if you say anything that even targets that said group in anyway anet will delete your post and give you warning so becareful what you say mods are watching this thread like crazy! things like QQers/Whiners may not be ok… someone may QQ or Whine about it! :-)
So true…. Its just a shame they couldn’t wait for the votes to get tallied in a game that houses millions when a mere handful sheds a tear.

Why should I and other people who are out raged have to pay for there mistake? What makes the people who bought the armor better then the people who earned it? Please don’t give me a story about how much you spend on the gem shop. I personally spend between 15-45 dollars a month since I canceled my 3 wow accounts. My friend I know he has spent more then you cause he dropped 700 dollars yes dollars at one time so he could convert gem’s to gold to buy a legendary. His money so who are we to judge right.
“Earned it?” Here let me just go buy the HCT3 armor real quick in game and then salvage it because it’s ugly as sin without the flames. Many of those people that bought it earned it too. They also bought it because they liked it with the particle effects and no putting them on another random half kittened armor set likely won’t do to them.
Acting all “I want more” spurs me to bad language, not your desire for the skin. You should be happy they are giving you a refund, because you deserve nothing.[/quote]
You have a frightening concept of rights and justice. I don’t want more. I just want to be compensated for what I’m losing. Which isn’t just an amount of gems, but the level of satisfaction I have with my character in its current state.
I have a character I really like right now. I shouldn’t be left with one that I like less after a change that was forced upon me to appease others.

Fortunately there’s others here to help decide what we are allowed to wear and have. You don’t want to look too good or someone else might feel bad.
I doubt they will just trash the armor completely. We’ll probably see it again some day in some for another.
Judging by the length of this thread it’s likely the most popular armor they’ve ever released.
I was just afraid that this was the beginning of a total destruction of the game for me by slowly transfering all the in game nice skins to the store and leaving as sole goal for the game to obtain higher and higher gear stats.
I hate to break it to you but I’ve been playing since before launch and that certainly is the sole goal. Nothing is hard to obtain in the game except the limited event skins. The gear grind started with Fractals spread to weapons and soon will be on armor as well. So yeah better stats is pretty much the sole goal of the game at this point. There’s nothing special or unique about farming 120g and buying a cultural set in a weekend. Aside from it not looking as good as the fiery one.
Shame that the Medium and Heavy skins aren’t being redone as well.
I am sure many, many people would gladly pay to be able to use some of the pvp-only armors in PVE, such as:
I’m sure many would also prefer the witch doctor class stay in D3.
If I can make a suggestion to Anet: please use the “Rubric” armor skin as the base for the new light set, seeing as it’s currently unobtainable in PVE. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/PvP_Rubric_armor
That is literally the ugliest skin I’ve ever seen…. are you serious?…
Also, I’m wondering…any chance those of us who are human can keep this version of the skin permanently?
I would like to know this as well. The only reason I never purchased t3 was because it was so boring before. They should consider patching in an evolution to the cultural armors that you can opt for minor changes like the flames as the living story moves on to your existing set.
Are you kidding me? Did you not read the full post?
It says right in the post that any one who bought the original version, that doesn’t like the new version, can get a refund once the new version is released.
Their problem with it is that’s an Gem refund not a gold refund or cash refund.
But as it stands now, this armor is not fair to the majority of the playerbase (paying or not), as most people roll humans.
That’s a rather broad brush most people I know don’t roll humans. At launch many were but as of now I would wager much of that has changed. Just because some like generic races doesn’t mean the rest of us do.
Looks like someone didn’t read it:
- Those who bought it can keep it for the moment.
- When they update it, it’ll be changed.
- If the player isn’t happy with it, they’ll get a refund.
How is ‘being allowed to keep it or have a refund if you’re not happy’ not fair compensation?
Because those that purchased the gems specifically for that now just get back gems not money or in game gold. The exchange rate returning to gold will cost them about half of what they invested and there is no exchange rate to return it to cash. So you bought something it was taken away and you were given something else of lesser value to you.
I absolutely love some of these ideas Tenchu. The only flaw I see is difficulty in balancing the class this way. The simple pet system they have now has even failed to do it. As the game stands a pet charges in attacks then gets totally melted regardless of the type of pet used. In every situation except solo content this happens. Pets would need a sever durability boost to make them a viable part of a Ranger build. In order to achieve this you would hear uproar from other classes about how “OP” Ranger pets are. Perhaps a permanent pet system was where anet screwed up from the start with this game engine. Maybe they should look at taking your synergistic ideas and merging them with a series of summon skills. F1-4 summons pets of different field synergies. Then as far as pet skins you could choose a skins for all those spells to share through skin capping. That way running a warthog pet won’t generate hate from group members in a dungeon since pets aren’t stat driven anymore but simply target driven spells. That’d be a drastic change from standard pet classes. This would take some more balancing but as far as wvw goes I don’t see them giving much love to the Ranger side in a standard pet system. Pushing for a more complex pet AI could just make it worse for us.
) would be good.
