Signets passive doesnt tick if its on cd? o0

The new signet seems really great in spvp with a phant build, you get 2 defenders. I can’t stress this enough, having that second defender to soak up burst can in seen as a strong heal.

Thoughts?

This is still here by the way, even in winters patch.

I would love watching a commentated-spectator based pvp matches. Hell, even commentated-spectator based wvw matches (one map, guild vs guild, 2 hours perhaps).

Just because others didn’t make it doesn’t mean GW2 can’t

As a mesmer main I was kind of forced to running around chasing skill points today as the new skill is a lot better. 25 takes quite a time to gather, got bored rather quickly and wanted to pvp so I don’t have them all yet.

I thought the whole point of pvp was to jump in and have everything ready.

I realize this alone isn’t that big, I will get those 25 points eventually, but who knows what next? A-net has now broken their promise in that pvp should be a even playing field.

Quite disappointing.

Added a temporary vendor to the Heart of the Mists that has items that can be purchased with both glory and gold. The vendor contains the following items:
Tomes of Knowledge
PvP dungeon armor sets
PvP cultural armor
20-slot bags
Custom Arena starter kits

I got my mesmer and hunter set out in some nice gear, have to farm a lot of glory for my warrior though. It’s a shame heavy armor have the nicest looks ^^

I whiped like 6+ times on him and had 2-3 constant illusions (warlocks) shooting at him. Never had a grub spawn on one, I think its fixed. Though wasps usually kill my illusions after a while.

Any good way to tell the max distance? I fail at max range all the time in wvw, quite embarrassing.

Why can’t you use illusions?
In phase 1 I get 3 warlocks up, with traits they heal the entire group really nicely as we all stack and kill adds and damage the boss. Quite easy.
Phase 2 is just a kitten because your entire team needs to know how to survive on their own, which is rarely the case in pugs.
I would actually suggest running time warp for fast resurections or panic mode, tho I am asura.

So I log in and I feel like playing some pvp, check with two of my friends that are online but they are both doing pve. Whatever I’ll play some by myself.

I don’t feel like playing hot join, because you know, it’s hot join. A big zerg fest where no one gives two kittens about capping, only about getting those kills (which can be fun too at times.)

Being unable to do paid tournament due to not having a team I enter to closest thing resembling anything of a pvp match – Free tournament.

Enter lobby, yes I’m ready. I’m playing my favorite class, Mesmer. I tell my team I got waterfall and will portal push mid.

I run to waterfall and start capping. I then get instantly killed by a mesmer and two thief’s from the same guild that had stealthed up on me with mesmer mass invisibility ult (lol).

Fair game, no problem. Having three at my point should give us advantage on other points. I check to see how my team was doing.

My team consists of me and a warrior, whom is almost dead. I re-spawn with enemy having all three bases.

I keep fighting, some people join but leave as quickly. Defeat.

I do two more tournaments; mass leavers. Once I was on the winning side with us having all 3 points, and /y consisted of the two people on the enemy team wanting to duel our team 1vs1.

It doesn’t matter if you’re on the winning or losing side, it’s still very frustrating, boring and waste of time.

I know you’re working on a February pvp update so I hope you do something about these leavers, hopefully some kind of punishment (etc can’t queue any PVP or WvW for a hour on entire account.)

About 1/5 free tournament actually plans out as a fun 5vs5.

tldr; Do something about free tournament leavers, unplayable.

The best tip I can give you against memser’s is skill. Yepp, mesmers destroy bad people, using high burst and being hard to catch. I can 1v4 people in wvw often due to usually better gear, food buffs and generally a lot more skilled. Meanwhile a equally geared and skilled person of almost any class can give me a lot of trouble 1v1.

The key is saving your dodge for shatters, this includes dodging the Daze shatter that comes before mind wrack (if the mesmer is decent, any mesmer opening with mind wrack is bleh.)

Ctrl-T the real mesmer so you can keep target on him. If you lose target you can easily spot him again through his movement (clones and a real player move very differently.)

Heal and so on when he is using chaos armor. To many people through all their kitten at me when I got my chaos armor up, and then proceeds to QQ.

If he is sword MH (not GS) expect and dodge the 3-2 combo.

Generally speaking as a Main mesmer I have no trouble beating them when I play other classes (or on my own Mesmer, to easy.) Most mesmers are not very good and once you know WHAT TO DO against them they become a lot less trouble.

A very >skilled< mesmer will always give you trouble and is one of the best classes 1v1 overall, so don’t feel bad if you lose to one. Of course always try your best.

Personally I can’t watch videos that are so zoomed in, sadly had to turn it off. I don’t know about others but that’s a deal breaker for me. Also if you’re a serious pvper you should try to zoom out more, vision is everything.

If you get LOS you can always berserker and burst. Otherwise spam AOE and pull them down. Every class has its perks. Nothing more fun than watching 5 people fall of the wall straight into your zerg

I didn’t mean you actually kill 50 people, haha. But you can run towards the zerg, bait a bit and naturally you will get chased by quite a few people. Ive been so annoying that I’ve had entire zergs follow me.
Once chased start kiting while finding a target and dishing out damage on him. We do great damage on the move via illusions and strafing for auto attacks. Also confusion etc. Don’t run in a straight line btw. Once downed hit distortion (shatter 4) and go for the kill. Or you can leave a clone on him (makes him bleed out unless helped) and continue kiting. You can come out with several kills this way.
I also play with GS so #5 skill is great way to push away people trying to ress someone, then Finish Him yourself right after.

I love my Mesmer.
Let’s see. Insane skill cap. There is just sooo much you can do. While people’s opinion are a bit different, pretty much everyone agrees that mesmer is top 3 in terms of skill, if not first. Illusion management will make or break you.

You’re the best 1v1 class in the game, period. If anyone is really annoying you just Moa-Bird them for 10sec, watch as they can do nothing while you nuke them to death.
Really though who cares about 1vs1? Try 1vsX, with X being anything from 5 to 50.

Lots of utility with Time Warp, portals. Insane mobility in combat with extremely short blinks (in multiples), lots of stealth, stun breakers and of course you confuse the kitten out of your enemy.

In WvWvW you can easily go pure damage and dominate. Mesmers simply don’t die to damage because they can avoid taking any. SPvP is different as you need to stay within cap range and therefore need to be more tanky.
I recommend you check out some youtube clips of mesmers going 1v5 and 1v40 and coming out ontop.
If you’re skilled enough you can take on multiple opponents. Nothing more rewarding than executing a enemy in the middle of their zerg while hitting distortion (full immunity to everything, 1s per clone so 3s) and they can do nothing about it. Enemy dead, stealth, staff blink, blink, mirror image, leave 40 confused enemies behind.

Pve? Time warp and great single damage target, also really good aoe with staff and shatter spam. People love having me in a group, aside from a ocational warrior or guardin (for tank or 4warrior 1mesmer groups) we are the most asked for class.

Negatives? Leveling is a kitten. 80 is awesome so easily worth it. I don’t see many mesmers at all simply due to this, and it’s fun being somewhat unique.
Not really a negative, but requires high skill to perform well vs GOOD opponents. If you’re not fast enough to staff blink or decoy when that rogue stuns you you’re gone. If you use your kit properly he will cry tears.
