Ah yes – I got a couple of those.
Does it mean, if I gather f.ex. 6 pieces of Berserker armor from CoF, I can transfer the looks onto my crafted Knight armor?
Hi guys!
So a couple of days ago I dinged 80 on my first character, the warrior. I bought some semi-cheap Rare armor pieces and rifle/GS, so I could start farming in the Orr area, which Ive also recently started to explore.
It’s going slowly, but steadily, to farm for cash, so my plan was to buy the exotic armor instead of doing dungeon runs (farming solo is a bit more “casual-player-friendly”). I’ve been googling around, and I want to make a mix of Berserker and Knight armor, which I can buy on the TP/TC, but it’s all crafted armor without the cool looks from dungeon armor?
(Guildie told me I couldnt find exotic dungeon armor on TC, from tokens).
So in order to reach my goal of having a mixed armor set of Berserker and Knight with cool looking skin, I would have to farm:
A) CoF (Berserker) – some say you can do this in 7-10 mins?
B) Arah /SE Dungeons (Knight) – these dungeons are quite difficult?
C) Do Events on the whole Orr area and buy everything with Karma.. (could be possible I guess)
D) Farm CoF for Berserker and buy the crafted Knight pieces, and live without the skin-look.
Am I right the options above are the only ones, if I want to have my mixed armor pieces? Im mostly worried about Arah being too difficult for PUG’s, which means I have to settle with full berserker and/or buy crafted Knight (CoF sounds easier to complete)?
Anything else I might have missed? All this Exotic armor confuses me a bit

Just wondering – if you tried to gear/trait for maximum bleed damage from Short Bow “flanking-bleed”, what kind of numbers could one expect to see (would it be worth it in pvp, just for the lulz, or is it waaaay too slow for killing)?
Currently at lvl 74, my ranger does about 65 damage per tick (every second?), with semi-random PVE gear – But whats your highest bleed-tick-number
?
Would our pets, those with special bleed effects, benefit from the above?
Yay, another daoc veteran =D
I’ve also played hunter/ranger/scout in daoc for several years (actually my first char was a Norse Hunter in 2001), but I’m afraid that stealthing&sniping feeling won’t be anywhere like that, in this game
I like the Ranger though for what it is, and so far its my favourite (PVE) class =)
@ Slymojo.
I think I know exactly how you feel in every aspect.. why? Because I used to play Dark age for 11 years, when I quit here in 2012. I’ve tried ALL characters on both mid/hib/alb and well – Ive had my time with the game! (still miss it somedays, when you ran around in Mularn as a lowbie, or hung out in Gna Faste, if you could get past Njessi
)
I’m also searching for the same “daoc character concept” as you, but I’m slowly getting used to the “multi-roles” the characters can have in GW2 – I tried the Elementalist and for a short time, I specced into Staff to get the firebolts, just to get the feeling from my firewizard on US server
.. wasnt anywhere near the well known bolt-dps, but fun to try for nostalgia at least.
Also had 3 RVR necros on different servers (EU + US), and instantly started this game 4 weeks ago with a necro .. I knew it wouldnt be the same type of character, and I didnt like it much. So far my highest level is a 38 warrior, which isnt the same as arms/warrior in daoc, but I like it so far, and it will probably be my first lvl 80 at some point. My life has also changed a lot since my “time-waste” in daoc (but kitten good 11 years of time-waste lol!!). Now I play 1-2 hours in the evening after baby is put to bed, so Im sort of also searching for the same character as you to fit my role/playstyle.
The other day I bought a Warhorn offhand item for my warrior, which gives 10 seconds of speedboost – that alone reminded me of a “SoS 1” from my Skald/mincer (you can even get “spellduration”, but its called Boon% or something like that – works the same way, in the “Treat” line)
Anyway, I hope you find your role in GW2 – I still have to try any kind of pvp (cant quite kill the old thought of having a perfect template before even setting a foot in the pvp zone – but its not needed in GW2)
Add me ingame if you like (dont ask me how), if you want to chat about the old days and how we could “transform” into GW2 playstyle

Wow thank you very much both of you, for taking your time helping me out!
I really appreciate it!
-Cheers!
Hi guys!
Bought the game about 3 weeks ago, currently having 1-2 hours playtime per day, in the evening.
I see a lot of lvl 80’s around, and my warrior is still only lvl 25, but I’m having a good time. I used to play Dark Age of Camelot for 11 years, and getting a character fully geared up to become ready for RVR, could take a looooooong time (helps a lot with newest patches though).
Anyway, back on topic: What is it like here in Guild Wars 2, to get some of these fancy weapons or armor I see around on the forums (Exoctics? “Knights”, “Zerker”?) ? Can I expect to grind for months in (dungeons?) or how does it work?
Should I save all my money (also see people mention Karma-points) for endgame gear, perhaps for crafting, or is it better to buy my stuff at the Auction House?
I know I still have like 55 levels to go lol, and I expect to pvp a lot (should I just buy this PVP gear from a merchant, which I saw in a Youtube movie?), but it would be nice to get some player-feedback instead of Wiki-info, so I know what to expect when/if I ever hit lvl 80
Thanks!
