I am a sad kitten.
I’m afraid GW2 really isn’t what I’m looking for. All the PvE updates since New Year have been fluff. Nothing to really get your teeth into. Fluff fluff fluff.
Sorry guys, I had so much hope for GW2.. but I’m bored now. So sad.
Mark.
I’ve been having a lot of lag since patch. My router isn’t showing any packet loss information. Where should I be tracing or pinging to check packet loss?
Cheers,
Mark.
Eh, most people just plant the bombs and run. It’s not the best tactic to plant and die. The warrior can use skills like endure pain and fear me to get out quick, the guardian probably retreat, stand your ground, save yourselves, mesmers can just teleport out and elementalist can tune to air for speed boost.
It’ll take 2 or 3 runs still depending on how many bombs you get. But there’s no need to defend anything. Just run.
We used to do what you say (run away!), but more and more of the time the dredge were picking up the bombs and they wouldn’t go off. That’s when we started to defend.
Maybe we were just very unlucky. Very. I mean it happened 5 or 6 times. Not a single bomb went off.
We’ll try the plant and run method again.
Cheers,
Mark.
Hi guys,
I would like some advice for the bomb door in the dredge fractal.
My group is normally made up of a guardian, warrior, two mesmers and an elementalist.
We’ve tried running up, dropping bombs, defending as long as we can, then we die. Between 3 and 4 runs to get it done this way. Seems bad that the tactic is to die.
The second way is to try and fight our way up and keep the mobs under control as we feed bombs to the door. Very hard :-)
Is it just the nature of the fight to die? Seems nasty design.
We don’t have issues with anything else. Pads, boss fights, shoot-the-door, all fine. All other fractals fine. Maybe I just don’t like having to die :-)
Any hints would be very much appreciated.
Cheers,
Mark.
The audio doesn’t seem as good on the exact same hardware under Mac.
However, my specific problem seems to relate to my Logitech G35 gaming headset. Mountain Lion doesn’t seem to like them. It was fine under Lion. I don’t think it is GW2 for mac specific.
I have tested with a separate USB headset, and it works fine. I am off to the shops to buy a new one :-)
Cheers,
Mark.
Looks like it may be related to a combination of my USB headset, and the Mumble voice client.
I will try with another headset tomorrow and see if the problem vanishes.
Cheers,
Mark.
First of all, thanks for releasing the Mac version, very handy :-) Hopefully it will help propel GW2 to the top.
I am having audio issues with the game. Running under Mac OS X 10.8.1. The sounds keeps stuttering and breaking up.
The Mac isn’t under powered. It is an iMac mid-2011, 3.4 GHz i7, 16 GB RAM, 2 GB GPU.
I will still have to reboot to Windows as the audio problem makes the game pretty much unplayable.
Please let me know what further information you need.
Cheers,
Mark.
The graphics in the game are beautiful… but you end up having to wrestle with camera to try and see it. I’m sure most people don’t even notice half the work anet has put into the game, because the constant fight with the camera is such a pain.
Please let your game breath! I feel like I’m stuck to my monitor and wearing blinkers.
What I can’t handle is one person getting in in 5 minutes, the next in 1 hour, and the third person not getting in at all.
Oh, I forgot. What I said above, and disconnecting and having to re-queue from the beginning again. A real way to make your party, well, less party-ish. Sad face.
Mark.
The queue lengths are a pain, but it is the randomness that really drives me nuts.
If we’re in a group, and we all queue for an hour, but then all get in within a few minutes of each other, I can cope with that. We’re all in, and playing together.
What I can’t handle is one person getting in in 5 minutes, the next in 1 hour, and the third person not getting in at all.
Makes me a sad kitten.
Mark.
Love the game. Brilliant.
But the camera, and mostly the FoV drives me nuts.
I would be one happy kitten if you fixed the FoV to be more in line with normal PC games.
Love,
Mark xx ;-)
The WvWvW queue mechanism is very broken and is making a lot of people in my guild very sad.
It isn’t the fact that there are queues, it isn’t the fact that they are far too long.
It is the fact that they don’t seem to be queues at all! Random entry.
You can queue for the same WvWvW zone, and someone who queues after you will get in first.
Someone will sit for 3 or 4 hours, and not get in, someone else will get in in 15 minutes.
This is nonsense and needs fixing ASAP. It is the single biggest complaint in our guild.
The second issue is crashing/disconnecting while in WvWvW and when you reconnect having to queue all over again.
There needs to be a grace period where if you re-queue, you get straight back in.
Lastly, people will feel less frustrated if they could see an estimated time and/or position in the queue. At least they could see it changing, and know that they are progressing. As it is now, you cannot tell if it is bugged, or what.
Guild Wars 2 is great, I love it. But please please at least acknowledge that this is a problem? I’ve not seen it anywhere in status updates or reports.
Kind regards,
Mark.
