Finisher you say?

I look forward to actually getting it. Is this an Outfit as in it covers all armor with a new looks similar to the Explorer Outfit. Or do we get skins to use parts of it as we like?

SNIP.

There is a lot of solid information there and is all very helpful!
Now I have an idea of what Gear to aim for, and I pretty much already own the Weapons I’ll need. Thank you very much

Though, I still feel the Guardian is GW2 equivalent to the Paladin, as I don’t really see them being very different, I agree they are all about active defense not passive or reactive.

I had been wondering the same thing! The Primeval would work so nicely on some of my Heavy characters, but I haven’t been able to get it!
Hrmm, Invest 2k Gems into something I already own (the upgrade) or wait until Fall for a cheaper price.

I think I’ll wait. Fall is just around the corner after all ^.^

UPDATE AND EDIT:

Watched the Guardian video. His voice feels a little monotone most of the time, and he just kind of runs out his breakdown rather quickly making it difficult to follow at times.
When I play Guardian, I am thinking Paladin. I don’t play for DPS, I play for Longevity and Support. I did like his Mace/Torch + Hammer though. So have a variation of that at the moment. Has good enough damage for my taste, and offers decent survivabilty with the Mace 2 & 3 skills. And the Zealot’s Flame on crit is nice too!
I run the Hammer as a backup, but don’t use it too often. I may consider one of his other options at some point, still up for debate.

I’m still in the Market for a solid Ranger build, but have settled, for the time, on a LB/GS setup using Flame and Spike Trap alongside Entangle. So far it is very enjoyable and has decent maneuverability and damage output.

Now I need to aim for a solid Warrior Build.
As much as I LOVE Supporting and offering buffs like Might, Protection, Stability and Regen, I feel that my Warrior should be more of a Stalwart Front-line Solder whose purpose is to stand his ground and help hold back any enemies from his Back-line.
Might anyone have a Solid Build or theory for this that would hold up in General PvE and perhaps Dungeons?

Again, links are very helpful so I know what Armor, Weapons, Trinkets and Sigil/Runes to aim for.

Thank you for the information on the Guardian and Elementalist! I will look into both videos and see how I feel after that

I’ve often shied away from Ele due to the “stance dance” of attunements, though. So, they have been difficult for me to get into.

I am an old player, who has just recently come back after a decent time from the game.

Here’s my question:
Which class is fun, viable and not over complicated(Casual-Friendly) at End Game content? I’m aiming for Dungeon runs, Fractals and perhaps some roaming/adventuring around in WvW. (I have NO interest in sPvP)

Here’s the breakdown of where I am:
Lv80 Guardian (Exotic Weapons, Ascended Ring) (Build is settled on)
lv80 Ranger (Exotic Weapon/Armor, no Exotic Trinkets)
Lv80 Warrior
Lv30+ Necromancer
Lv30+ Engineer

I plan on getting all to 80 and would like to gear them all as well. In time, of course. But, I would like some opinions on which classes may be more fun to play while allowing me to stay casual and relaxed for the most part.
PLEASE; Share as much information as possible. Links are VERY helpful! And if possible, try not to use too many acronyms, they’ll probably go over my head >.>

EDIT: Warrior is now Lv80

Fun/RP Druid Build

Thank you for the comments guys!
@Electro.4173 Thank you for the detailed reply! I may very well be looking into running something like that. Wouldn’t mind a pet/player combo like that. Good buffs, strong pet, and some good tanking ability in general PvE. Though, I noticed you didn’t talk too much about weapons. which is fine, you gave great detail on Gear and traits, thank you again

@solrik.6028 A Rabid Trapper sounds pretty gnarly, imo. As I’ve never used traps or spirits, your idea also sounds quite intriguing. Would you mind sharing a bit more detail? Obviously the Gear is Rabid based, but how about traits? Weapon Choice? Pet choice?

@Djahlat.9610 I can see your point with the condition cap, thus my only real reason for shying away from Cond build. Though, I like the weapon choice, sounds like it would be pretty mobile.

@FrownyClown.8402 Thus theory crafting exists and I can still take into consideration how Druids would play in other games, as well as use the knowledge that they will use a Staff in this game.

@Knighthonor.4061 I can avoid using a bow by saying I do not wish to use a bow. That simple.
I’d likely end up with a Staff instead. Though, depending on what their (Druids) skills may be, and how the staff works, I may consider something a bit more ranged/support with a Bow and staff. IF it feels right, but only time will tell.

Fun/RP Druid Build

In preparation for the upcoming expansion, I am interested in, more or less, RPing a fresh Ranger to 80, then doing what I can to convert him to a Druid.

I’ve tried many builds, but I’m looking for something PvE oriented, that is more fun than ‘competitive’ – If that computes with you guys
I’d enjoy playing something that would make my pet stronger and help make them an important part of my playstyle, be it melee or range doesn’t matter so much. I am interested in Traps and Spirits as I haven’t really used them before, but am unsure how to synergize them with the whole build.

Weapons I’d like to avoid are Longbow, as I’ve played with it FAR too much. And the Greatsword, for similar reasons.

Focus points I think I’d enjoy:
- Support aspect (Regen, Heal or Boons), would enjoy helping friends that I play with.
- AoE aspect, allowing for easier handling of trash and Story missions.
- Boosted Pet strengths (LOVE my Fern Hound right now).
- I think my ideal Elite would be Entangle (Feels very Druid and has helped me in the past with AoE).

If anyone has build ideas, or heck, ideas in general, I’d love to discuss and find something fun.

Death Knights?

So, I see both sides to the DK discussion, but I am not so sure they’d go in that way. I mean, they very well may stick with traditional names such as the Death Knight. They went with Druid, did they not?
What if they went with something like Warlock?

And in all fairness, a Death Knight is just a Plated up Necromancer. So why not offer a utility to boost defenses and turn the Necro into a strong Melee?

Summary of ranger pet survey

I haven’t had too many problems with my pets, though I do fully agree that there are some virtually useless pets and that they could use a bit of an improvement.

Personally, I think the pigs would be cool if they had another option for their F2 ability. Maybe all the pets need a secondary F2? Could be interesting and offer more customization in playstyle, yea?

I’m getting a bit tired of feeling shoehorned into what pets to play to be ‘viable’ in other’s eyes. I like my bears (primarily Brown for that cleanse) and my River Drake for that bouncy lightning ball. I can’t seem to bring myself to play the DPS pets because of how tender they seem to be.

Dinosaur Pets!

I, personally, have always wanted to be able to tame a Griffon. Built in evade with some nice rending attacks? It could be like a bird/feline hybrid as far as combat goes.

As for the Raptors, I think they could be a good pet if done well. An offensive version of a Moa would be pretty nice.
