Pretty sure the fight is bugged. I’m looking at my char trying to kill Aerin. Fight’s been going on for 20 minutes at least. His shield is at half strength and now he just sits there, invulnerable. The shield isn’t dropping and he has stopped attacking.
I cannot do this. You simply cannot beat down the 2 Inquest assassins solo. My two “friends” just sit down below while I get my kitten beaten. Playing as an Ele, I am just a pin cushion for them, and since they’re chained you can’t get one alone and take it down. As a clothie, they wade in and just beat you down before you can do anything.
Complete dead end.Use Glyph of storms with earth enchantment, it will blind them almost constantly
If that’s not enough, use the lightning hammer auto-attack chain, the final attack blinds surrounding enemies. Use the glyph in earth attunement to give them an initial blind, summon the hammer then autoattack them (try to position yourself so you hit both). It is far from impossible, just practice a bit and you’ll nail it.
Thanks, guys. It took several tries and broke every piece of gear I had, but I got through it. I just needed another way of looking at the problem. On to the Master of Peace.

Complete dead end.
Just finished both of these quests solo on my lvl 60 Ele. I haven’t played for awhile, so I was a bit rusty. You do get auto-leveled to 80 to do the quests, although it might help people if there was some visual queue that you’re temporarily bumped up for these quests, which both take place in instances.
As mentioned, they will kick your butt as these guys don’t play, and I died a few times and had quite the repair bill later on. There is money as part of the reward, but if you faceplant as I did, it may be better to rope a friend in to help. Some of the fights are pretty hairy if you’re solo. You don’t need a party, even one friend will probably be enough, but hey, the more the merrier. Rox and Braham are pretty tough and take a lot of abuse, but they can die if you’re not careful.
Other than that, enjoy. I didn’t realize these were repeatable, so maybe I’ll take a day of rest and try it again.
And where are you supposed to find all this plentiful candy corn? I ran all over LA for 2 hours and found absolutely nothing. I clicked on every stupid pumpkin and NPC and got zip.
And what on earth was the Food Fight for? You didn’t get anything from it. The cauldrons only changed you into a bird or a frog and you ran around stupidly and squawked at other players to no purpose. Waste of time.
Sorry, this event fails on every level. Most importantly, it’s not fun. At all.
And asking people in LA for even the slightest hints only got me insults and ‘Google it’ as well. Asking questions only prompts snotty answers from people like you who only enjoy sniping at other players.

Nice. Thanks for this post. My main is 53 and only managed to find 3 of these so far. Obviously I’m doing something wrong. Sticky, obviously.
Agreed. When you buy more bank space, that is available to all your characters. I was shocked to see that the one bag slot I did buy was only available for that character. Considering what you’re paying for another bag slot, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect that to carry over to all your characters.
And this isn’t just a question of throwing gems at the issue, when money is so hard to come by in the game. Hearts don’t even pay enough to keep you ahead of repairs and the game is too tight-fisted with money drops as it is. Even with selling every bit of junk, white, or unusable gear you come across, even with selling off excess harvested materials, the return isn’t enough to get you ahead by converting that to gems. And Crafting is a money pit. There’s no profit to be had from it at this point. Those of us on a budget, who can’t afford to keep dropping real money on gems just to stay ahead, need to have a real option to make money in the game. My main is 53 and has about 30S in her pocket. That’s ridiculous at that stage of the game to be that cash poor without having to resort to buying more gems.(Whoa, this turned into more of a rant than I expected)
I get that the cash shop is intended to generate revenue for the game. But when you buy gems in order to add bag slots, that should really translate across all your characters. That’s a reasonable request when the bank space precedent has already been set.
Thank you, Anet. Downloading the client now. This is outstanding news I never expected. Although it’s running fine on my gaming PC, the ability to run GW2 on my Mac is going to be a wonderful quality-of-life improvement that will be a huge boon to Mac users and will bring in more people who had probably just written it off as another PC-only title.
As a Cider port, not a native OS X app, I’ll reserve judgement on performance until we see the release client, but it’s a great step forward. Hopefully, this will lead to more cross-platform development in the future. Why should Blizzard have all the fun?
Also, please, please make a real effort with the support forum for the Mac. This is at least as important as the client itself. Don’t let us feel like EA Mac users, who get a Cider port and then no follow-up after release.
Again, thank you guys.
