I actually feel that the Chronomancer is a great move for a specialization! The power and balance of the class is fine, however I don’t entirely disagree with the post as I feel that there should more aesthetic changes from the mesmer to the Chrono; specifically in regards to the shattering of illusions. The mesmer is a different path. While the Chronomancer studied the path of illusions, he moved on to master time and space. His shatters should reflect the change. Instead of butterflies and misdirection, it should be shattered glass and rips in reality. A few animation changes would make ALL the difference in the class. Also where is the world lore for Chronomancers? Where is the head school of study? Build into the world more role playing and social exploration.

Actually purple works well and here’s why.. In the world of Tyria purple is the color used in many magical locations. The portals and severely magic scarred areas are colored purple which indicates the essence of magic is colored with a purple hue. Chaos magic channels that power and has a similar color.

I think my Mesmer is cool and I love the purple fire animation when he uses his magic. (The butterflies not so much, but I get the theme) The purple is actually great as it is the color of Magical locations throughout the world. However I would love to be able to purchase the ability to have an additional animation that goes with his chronomancer specialization. He has moved from Mesmer illusion magic to mastering time and reality magic, perhaps a new animation that could go with it?
