Have a friend who fortunately was told will have his account reinstated. This was posted last night around same time. But account still banned, so just wondering if anyone has any experience, how long does it take from when they say they will, until they actually do?
Sucks to lose all the event stuff
You guys dont make sense. I mean, you talk about how awesome this dungeon is, how fun it can be. You more then likely will play it many, many, many times. You say oh god how i wish it was just cosmetic upgrades, but instead its cosmetic AND stat boost.
I ask this…what does it matter what it drops? Your going to be running these dungeons over and over again because you like it, and you have fun with it.
You all seem to over dramatize the minor stat boosts like its the end of the world. If its a fun game, its a fun game. Period.
Hey i agree with the OP. My reason is not so much so i can kick people from groups. Its more, im just curious what people wear you know. I see something nice, id like to hit inspect and see his gear….oh…so those are the shoulders hes wearing….nice…must get…..you know?
I just like having the option to show others what you have, theres nothing wrong with that. If other people abuse so prevent people from dungeons, well thats their choice…you cant control everyone.
Just like you cant control everyone on what they say in chat….but you dont disable chat in general just because a few people get carried away do you? No.
Add option for inspection
You know all these replies about, “well if you want gear progression, go play those other mmos”. Has it dawned on you guys, that maybe, we actually like this game. Maybe, it just has the right stuff in it, and if only it just had couple more features, that would mean the world to many of us?
Yes if we wanted to go play another mmo we would, but we dont, because we like what we see here. We wouldnt be posting our requests if we hated the game.
Dont view us as your enemy. Everything you love about your GW traditions are there, now just another layer to cater to ones who would like to chase that aspect. Just like some of go chasing your puzzle pieces, your exploring, your wvwvw, your spvp….well theres also the dungeon grinders, and even legendaries.
Anyways agree with OP
Wooooot! Thanks Anet! Im so glad your adding something more rewarding then just cosmetics for once. Thanks, thanks, thanks.
On the point number 1, i agree 100%. Characters somehow are not in sync with the speed at which the ground moves under their feet and how quick their feet plant on the ground. The end result is, like you said, it looks like their floating, not attached to the ground, and especially, especially when you strafe, wow its really floating, they glide.
Only the little guys look better, because they take more steps or something in the same distance so the effect of floatiness, not attached to ground is not as evident.
So ya, that part it looks bad. Most people probably dont care or notice…but its 100% there.
The really big killer for me that I hate in most games is the instancing of zones… If I’m suppose to be immersed in a living breathing world… why am I going through instance portals into the next zone? I want to walk into that next zone… I get it helps load times but I’d take the hit on load times if everything was linked together. Other than that the PVE can stay as it is as long as they expand on dynamic events being more dynamic.
Rift has no loads, no instances in the open world, its all seamless. Just bringing it out there because the technology is there to do it. Why Anet choice this ancient method, who knows.
I am also against this.
Legendaries are a vanity item. It has been clearly known that they were a vanity item. As such it is perfectly justifiable that they are very difficult to get and not viable for the average or casual player.
By adding abilities they become a new tier that gives advantages to those who can afford to spend the money or time sink to get them. We don’t need another MMO that is an endless gear grinding time sink.
How is this a new tier when the stats are EXACTLY the same as exotic. Please, educate us. Abilities dont make a new tier, its always stats. And these abilites dont make you any stronger then exotic. So again, please explain because your arguement is weak.
GW2 has the B I G G E S T grind ever…for one single item….which offers the L E A S T amount of reward in return.
Interesting….
Yes i would like inspect feature. I havent played an MMO where this isnt possible. If it bothers you then have an option to limit viewing to public and open to others or w.e. But yeah, add it.
First of all i agree with OP and im in the same mindset. But reality is, it probably wont change to that type of system where gear gets better “stats”.
I propose this:
Give harder to obtain gear give you “other” boosts that you could not get anywhere else.
For example:
What if there was gear higher then exotics but included legendaries that started including bonuses such as:
“Reduce Waypoint costs by 25%”
“Allow you to spy on characters info sheet – stats, gear, etc…
“Reducing falling damage by 50%”
“Allow to pickup items from broker anywhere”
Anyways those buffs might be retarted but the point is to have additional bonuses to harder obtained gear, then just pure cosmetic, but type of bonuses that dont really affect your combat.
I agree. I dont get why 99% of the leveling process has such a tiny bit variety in your character look. Either its on purpose so that 80 seems so awesome, or just lazy dev design.
I remember playing EQ2….not counting stats, but just looks, you always looked forward to the next new look which was usually every 10 levels and sometimes even between. But it made it exciting, something to look forward too.
Here….its very bland, very boring honestly. For how much GW2 pushes “looks” instead of “stats”, they have really failed hard on the 1-79 armor look progress.
Hopefully they realize this and do something to make the leveling experience richer.
According to the first Guild Wars, they didnt get change appearance and name change until 4 years into the game. Lets hope they have more manpower to get this out quicker this time.
I agree on all of OP points. And on inspect feature…really? People actually complain about this? If your so scared of it, have option to not let others see you, but dont take away options if others want it…and believe me, there are those that want it. <——
I will put my vote down to implement this
