Treasure Finder – Worst Thief NA. 22222. Surprised EP let that type of garbage into their guild.

Got a nice screen of the same Mesmser that jumped on my body. Even with guards he hides in the tower but it’s cool when its 30v1 to come out. Gotta love the emote spam.
Good Fight JQ. Such an amazing server its no wonder you’re one of the top. Please send more to jump on my body 1 isn’t enough. Weird they only come out of their keeps/towers when they have 2-5x the numbers. This particular elite roaming unit chased me from umber to just NW of the QL sentry. Surprised an engi made it that far but hey at least I haven’t adopted the porting tactic that JQ is so famous for.

I agree with the OS post 100%. Moving IP into the master trait does absolutely nothing to the current nade/bomb build and actually lowers the amount of viable builds by limited the number of available conditions. I run P/SH with TK/FT/SS and sometimes i sub out the FT for Mines or some other utility and without that IP trait it makes these builds non-viable because you cant keep up enough condi pressure on the target.
Hmm but I guess we’ll just give a buff to Mesmers since they need it so bad. Mooooarr Dazes!
How about focusing on the existing problems with engis.
1) Magnet – Pull is bugged and target desyncs the majority of the pulls
2) Throw Mine – Increase range to 1200 ( This will make boon stripping engis viable for larger scale fights and put them up to par with necros in group fights.)
3) Mine field – Give a standard formation of the mines. RNG roll makes for unreliable skill.
4) Smoke Vent (FT) – How about a smoke field being generated by this similar to thieves. One would assume a FT venting its smoke would produce a larger smoke field than a pistol shooting black powder.. This skill is also unreliable as the radius is so short and with a 20sec CD spamming it like on other classes is hardly a problem.
5) Slick Shoes – How about giving stability to either this or the stunbreaker on the F1 skill? It’s fine for warriors to be able to have multiple sources of stability with their stunbreakers and at the same time put out more condi pressure at 3300+ armor with easy access to condi clears. One of the reasons why engis arent viable in larger battles is because of our access to stab relying on other classes for this its reliable and to use an elixer we sacrifice too much utility or mobility. Stunbreak and then stunned immediately after the break..
6) Mortar – The range on this definitely needs to be increased for a utility. If a Norn racial elite utility allows a class to smash across the map at 2k+ range a mortar should definitely be able to do similar distance. If you want some variety to what engis are running increase the range on this otherwise it will be every engi running the cookie cutter supply crate drop. Again increasing the viability for engis in group fights. For heavens sake its a MORTAR it should have some ridiculous range if this was a mortar being used on the field the operator would kill himself from shrapnel..
7) Pistol 1 – Bleed stacking is subpar to other condition based builds on other classes.

If you wanna remove IP so bad replace it with another trait based on CC instead of damage.
[Dry Ice] – Causes chill for 5 seconds on crit (10sec ICD).
Hey Anet,
I know that the PVE/PVP section of GW2 is geared towards 5 man (dungeons and spvp/tpvp) so the party size is maxed out at 5. However this differs drastically in WvW as the party sizes can range from a single 5 man roaming groups up to 60 man zergs. I think it would be a huge benefit to increase the party size to 15-20 so it will still promote large scale fights in WvW but would allow guilds to actually run together, see each other on the map and be able to support one another in the larger fights. Keeping the group size at around 20 would also discourage map zerging as a 20 man force is more than enough to flip towers and keeps. A good example of this was WOW raids where larger parties were needed to finish the raid.
Not sure if this has been mentioned before as I haven’t seen a recent post for it. But since WvW is the heart of the term “Guild Wars” in the sense that guilds are warring with each other a larger group size would promote guild progression in WvW. A 5 man party forces guilds to have segregation in their ranks. Right now 5 man groups are forced to clump up and form larger groups that exceed the necessary size for objectives.
Targeting system:
Currently users are only able to put a “bullseye” on a target to focus that. But the targeting system has multiple use cases such as the “driver” or the leader of the raid and also to target enemies. A good example for a targeting system is SW:TOR where you could place different icons each being uniquely colored to match the respective icon. I think this addition would bring more utility to the game than is there currently( not only for WvW but for GW2 as a whole).
Defiant/Unshakable:
(Just throwing this out there lol). I spend a lot of time solo roaming and sometimes you get zerged down by 15+ people. I think it would be cool to give a buff to solo players who do not have any teammates around the (2-5k range) if the force size is beyond X. 1v3, 1v4s are fine but when u start getting to 10v1s is just gets a bit kittened. (I don’t mind being zerged down as it proves nothing and its the price one pays for entered WvW in a roaming grp..) Also I would remove bag drops and wxp from single kill by larger groups. I think it would be hilarious to see a group of 30 people trying to zerg down a single player that is turned into a Champion and watching that single person down opposing players left and right.
Thanks in advance.
Hey Jon,
First off I want to say thanks for opening this up to the community for discussion. If I can make a few suggestions for the engineer as a TK/FT/SS roaming condition engi. Before we go messing with the traits let’s try to fix what’s already there.
1 ) Please fix magnet. Currently it is way to unpredictable to be considered reliable in any situation. Consistently I have victims landing behind me, shooting up into the air and just teleporting to different locations. The 1-2 second delay in action makes this skill broken.
A – One possible fix which some might term OP would be an AOE pull that pulls up to X targets to your location. Since around 1 out of every 5 pulls actually works in real combat I think 5 targets would be a good number that way at least you have 1 that you can focus in the correct location. This would also make engis more vaiable for larger combat being able to pull 5 targets away from their group.
2) Smoke Vent for FT – Give smoke vent a smoke field similar to the blind field for thieves. This will give us a reliable source of blinds and a visible field. Out of any skill in the game one would assume “Smoke Vent” would generate a field. That would make FT more viable in comparision to bombs. and with the current CD I doubt spammable stealth will be a problem like it is with thieves.
3) Air Blast – Increase the knockback range to 600 (guardian banish is 750 but is a single target launch).
4) Flame Jet – Give us a reliable source of burning so that we dont have to trait into IP to get a source of burning from a flame based weapon. The damage output is already sub par for the auto attack increasing the condi duration from 1-1/2 second to at least 3-5 seconds. While still using IA would give us a source of burning on our other kits. (I just dont see P/SH being able to stay viable for a condi build in respect to condi pressure by moving IP to Master tier. Again some people will say rocket boots etc But I don’t run rocket boots so that isn’t an option. IMO if you’re getting blasted by a gaint flamethrower the burning should last a bit longer that it currently does.
5) Backpack Regenerator increase the regen to be on par with Adrenal HP.
6) Box of Nails – Add Torment as a condition.
7) Pistol 1 – Increase bleeds stacks to be on par with condi warrior.
Those are just a few suggestions that I don’t think are over the top and would put us on par with some of the other classes. Feel free to give some input or suggestions. Thanks everyone! Happy Engineering
Lots of carebears here.. The main reason why dueling should be allowed is because the stats vary from WvW to PVP. You have food and other factors that you don’t have in PVP. Dueling with a guildie or anyone for that matter to improve skills based on WvW factors is something that is overlooked.
Also sometimes people talk trash in whispers/mapchat about other players. Dueling is a good way to own them. The other option is to ./ignore or ./report but I’m not a carebear myself so I wouldn’t do that.
I understand Anet’s logic because it forces users/guilds to buy a custom arena for dueling purposes – which is added revenue for them and they need to make money to keep giving us awesome content. But if that is the case then they need to add an option in custom arena to simulate WvW/PvE that allows your regular armor and food to be able to be used in the arena as a setting. This will allow WvW’ers to test out their build/armor/food/combo against other players. If that isn’t going to be an option then add ./duel. It’s kind of stupid that it’s not in this game and pretty much every other MMO. Personally, I think it would add some life into the cities/surrounding areas where people don’t visit once they’ve dinged 80.
**Also adding a deathmatch style map/option would be a cool feature. Something non-objective based to run dueling tournaments. I know my guild is setting up server-wide dueling tournaments and the mechanics for the objective based maps in sPVP don’t really float a dueling tournament in its current state.
@garr. I’m in T1 and it gets used quite a bit in WvW and in PVP. Not sure what server you’re on.
U can be in any server, but looks like u are newbie in GW2 =)
And yes, almost all mesmers will agree that Moa will be removed and switched to some mass pvp skill or phantasm or even powerfull mantra.
I definitely not a noob. I’m been playing GW2 on SOR server since release. I roam quite a bit picking off the tail end of zergs and engaging numbers greater than our size. I also PVP quite a bit. Yes MOA gets used on us alot. I guess when you can’t beat someone fairly you resort to moa.
Those of you saying that MOA hasn’t resulted in your death you obviously never play GW2.
hmm i have over 500 hours pvp on my mesmer and i can tell you, MOA sucks, why would anyone use it over timewarp in a 1v1 situation? it has the same cooldown xD i stick with mass invisibility as like yourself i go against zergs tailing them i need the target breaker, personally ive been hit with MOA transform and i lol, is it really that hard to hit 5? it evades and runs at the same time?!?!? besides its so obvious when its about to be used, ive gone against a mesmer and rolled it as its easier to look out for the animations, like others said, it seems you just need to l2p,
perhaps you can roll a mesmer and youll realise its not OP xD
if you consider yourself good then you should of rolled one of each class to learn them inside out
Cool story. I’m not speaking about other elites here I’m specifically talking about MOA.
Regardless of what all you pro-moa clowns are saying this thread is addressed to the devs – any skill that removes all abilities (even utilities) for the victim renders the toon a sitting duck for 10 seconds. The 5 ability has also been nerfed.. Since you guys are so focused on balancing the game in the next patch why dont you give thieves ballisk venom a 10 second buff and remove the ability to use a stun break because pretty much that has the same effect as a MOA. While you’re at it give eles the ability to turn people into a block of ice that removes all their abilities. for 10 seconds.
Just throwing out ridiculous abilities that don’t belong in the game so you can see how ridiculous this ability is.

…then why this ulti hardly ever used by mesmers? =)
If it’s hardly ever used I guess people won’t miss it being removed from the game.

I looked for a thread and didn’t find one that was recent. So no this doesn’t need to be deleted it needs to be addressed by devs ASAP. Sorry it’s your fav skill to use but hopefully one of Anet’s devs sees this BS thread so they can do something about it.
I don’t usually come on here or post on here but this needs to be addressed ASAP.
Moa needs to be nerfed it’s OP. Either give the victim a buff like immune to Stun/imbolize/slow etc or reduce the time to 2-4 seconds like every other stun/immobilize in the game. A buff to dmg while in moa state would give the victim a fighting chance because otherwise it’s GG when there’s more than 1 person attacking.
Moa > Stun > gg
How this has gone on for so long is beyond me. This is the most ridiculous ability in the game right now and needs to be removed or addressed ASAP.
