You can max out every profession on one character, and then switch between them without losing any progress whenever you want.
As for Warrior, I personally like using separate professions on each of my toons that kind of fit their style. My Warrior does Armorsmith and Weaponsmith. But feel free to choose whatever you want, because as I said above, you can switch them out whenever you want without losing progress. Then switch back and forth between them all. You can have two at a time (unless you buy more via the Gem Store).
That’s so awesome. Didn’t know I can switch professions whenever I want and actually own them all, maxed out. So no one has to trade with anyone, if you put your mind to it and with some luck, you can craft anything yourself. Perfect thinking ArenaNet, once again, they did it better than anyone else.
Don’t panic it is not a problem. You have 2 active crafting abilities at any one time (can buy more active with gems for some reason) but every character can gain experience in every craft, switch by talking to the npc, you do not lose any experience if it is switched out to a different one.
As said above it is not really vital which you take but if you only have the warrior a armour crafting and weapon crafting works.Edit: guess I was slow in typing

Thanks for the second comment. I appreciate you confirming it! Thanks for directing me to that forum link, didn’t know it was there. And the gem store, lol that’s a way for them to make money. It makes sense you’d have to pay if you want more professions at one time. It’s not crucial for the game at all but a nice thing to have I guess instead of going back and forth.
So I was just walking from one NPC to the next one and accidentally accepted the Jeweler Craftsmanship training…
Is it permanent or can I switch without any penalty?
Also… What are the best professions for a human warrior?
I’ve done both, I prefer the investigation path. Logan is dumb, and even if we break in the house, there’s no guarantee that there will be any evidence inside.
Thanks for all the great great feedback! HaxTester, you prefer the party then?
So I am going through the personal story for the first time and I just spoke to Captain Logan Thackeray who wants me to find some evidence. I can choose to go to “Minister Wi’s party” which leads to A Society Function OR break into “Zamon’s house” and Search the Premises.
Is there a better outcome for one over the other? It says you can’t choose the second option, you stick with one of them. Just wanted to know what different rewards you can get with each path or what’s a better choice, if it makes any difference.
Not particularly. A few months ago they made a push for T2 in WvW, but it didn’t work out because it was always listed as a full server meaning they couldn’t get more transfers in. That caused several WvW guilds and players to move off of the server. Recently, they implemented server population being based on WvW population only, so Dragonbrand opened up again.
Since megaserver was implemented for PvE, we really only talk about servers in terms of WvW now. Tarnished Coast was known as the RP server and Sanctum of Rall has some history behind its name, if you want to look into that.
Thanks for all the extra information! I will definitely do some follow up research!
I wasn’t actually looking for RP. I was only wondering if my server was know for anything lol. I really appreciate all the comments here. Thank you!
I see a lot of talk about some servers being RP Servers. Is Dragonbrand considered a RP Server or just a regular one? Any gossip/news I should know about Dragonbrand? I hope it’s a good server, I know we’re currently ranked #13 with %19.143 increased Evolution.
I have a big feeling that once HoT is released, there will be a big new-player boom and Dragonbrand can easily turn into a Very High population server by February 2016 (after Xmas and boxing week). I just read a lot of posts about Dragonbrand dying as a server and how people gave up on it. Most of those posts were from 1-2 years ago.
All in all, didn’t have any issues on that server, simply wanted to know if there’s any talk about Dragonbrand I should know of.

Thanks for all of the informative replies. Most of the stuff said here is gibberish to me since I just got the game a couple of days ago but I get what you are saying generally. I still hope to play Season 1, I will pay if needed, a small symbolic fee just as a gratitude to ArenaNet lol.
Hi there, just wanted to introduce myself. I have heard A LOT about GW and then GW2 came out and a few of my friends never stopped talking about it. I finally gave in and researched and decided I have to have it haha.
One thing which did disappoint me is the “Add items and events and an entire SEASON OF STORY that goes away forever (or some of it), preventing players who began after it has left from ever getting most of the items.” (I copied this from someone else’s post).
I do support this to some extent. Because this makes Guild Wars 2 a very unique MMO which resembles real life. If something happened and you weren’t there, tough luck. Then again on the other hand, it’s a bit harsh and I think there should be a more intelligent, sophisticated system put in place for people who want to put the time into reliving the experience since after all it’s a game which we all paid for and want to experience like everyone else. I am aware you can play Season 2 (if you pay for it with one of the currencies) which is ok in my opinion, not sure how ethical it is but at least I get to not miss out on Season 2 as well as season 1.
I hope we will get to experience Season 1 of the game and earn the proper loot and experience the adventure of the first season, in the future. Maybe the developers will do something about it.
All in all, ArenaNet is an amazing company and this game is simply a masterpiece. This post is not supposed to be received as a rant in no way. I am just expressing my opinion, understanding both sides.
Thanks so much for being such a great community and I hope to learn the game quickly so I can help future beginners. Any tips will be gladly accepted
