I have a similar crashing issue: Everything freezes with the sounds buzzing in an infinite loop. This also hard locks this system as ALT+CTRL+DEL, ALT+TAB or ALT+F4 do not work and does not return control to the system. The only way out is by hard reboot. My graphics settings are set to medium, and performance-wise there are no issues until the freeze. Did the memory diagnostic, all my drivers are up-to-date, and no noticeable overheating, I am not over-clocking either. Here is my specs:
OS: Win 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
Processor: Intel Core i5 3.2 GHz
RAM: 8 GB
Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 5700
I have this problem as well. I’m rolling with an ATI Radeon HD 5700 though, so maybe it has nothing to do with the graphics card.
The game randomly freezes with the sound buzzing in a loop, and the entire system hangs. Only way to get out is with a hard reboot. This is terrible and causes corruption.
Perhaps this issue is common to those with a specific set up?

Right, I would imagine Windows would be able to catch software-level exceptions, even if there were a memory leak of some sort. Not sure as to why the entire system halts when playing GW2. This has never happened with other games/software that I use.
Hello,
I recently installed GW2, but the game freezes once every 30 minutes. When this happens, the sound gets stuck in a loop. ALT+F4 or CTRL+ALT+DEL does not work because this freeze actually halts the system and causes Win 7 to hang. This requires a hard reset. All drivers are up-to-date. I sense that this is a software bug as many have complained that this has occurred ever since a recent patch, all though I could be wrong. Many have suggested to increase the memory of the user-mode virtual address space from 2GB to 3GB? Is this necessary to play the game without freezing up?
