@Mayga.7241 thats why i m talking about effectiveness not dps! and i m not saying i want to know what they are counting in their calculation+i dont want to see real time rankings you are right thats what those programms in wow are made for. But im convinced some kind of notification at the end of a fight would give everyone a very effective tool to improve if he wants to.

Oh, come on, you’re talking about exactly what I wrote. It’s impossible to measure the pure effectiveness, too many nuances must be considered for it. But it’s very easy to measure DPS and HPS. And I understand very well why you need something to measure. And you know it.

I don’t need any tool that will show me my effectiveness. I can calculate it myself. And I don’t need a tool for comparison with other. Because I have no problem with my ego and self-rating.

When you get recount or another DPS meter – you start playing just for recount. In the game for you will be only numbers and nothing more. Do you want that? Elitists, please, go play WoW.

I played for recount 8 years. And after 8 years “numbers game” I’m here, because there is no this idiocy and I can only enjoy the game.
This does not mean that I play bad or I have bad build.
This means that I PLAY. And I don’t look permanently how numbers in my recount changes.

Watch your efficiency. Get away from other people. Just play.

For me, nothing has changed. I did not see any problem in 400 HP. But I see a lot of other problems that nobody will going to fix.

3/10. Music, beauty and gliders.

Small guilds are still deprived of what they had. Mastery grind is so boring… It’s not difficult – it’s dull and stupid.

This is the second occasion in which ANET have screwed small guilds over and it stinks bad this time.
Unfortunately experience suggests this thread, like countless others before it will simply be ignored and used to line the nearest trashcan back at HQ.

The only way small guilds can make any kind of noise is through their wallets.. just don’t bother spending any more on the game.. it doesn’t take our small guilds, that were once fine to create and play, serious anymore.
Sure 1 man guild vaults are one thing but as others have said.. many of us don’t want to be part of a fortune 500 guild and prefer to play with RL friends/family at our own pace and time frames.
Many of us have worked kitten hard and spent many, many hours in game to unlock the things we have as well as contributing a lot of hard cash into the game only to be slapped well and truly by ANET once more.

So just refuse to put any more coin into the coffers .. once enough players think that way, maybe they will wake up and stop with these kind of fun destroying antics.

I did a lot of purchases in the store. I sincerely wanted to support a game that was made with love to all players. But now I don’t buy enything as long as the game is not for people like us.
I’m not going to pay for this game, because developer attention is directed to 1% elitists now. Solvency and loyal community they kicked. Well, people leaving GW2 now and will continue to leave. Sad, but deserved.

Guild Halls for very small guilds

…Needs to be said. I’m going to go to bat for this topic.

So, per Colin’s statement, a small guild of 3, or 6, or, 9, or 11 real life family, friends, relatives, and co-workers does not constitute a real guild anymore, is that correct Colin? Really!?

Husbands, wives, and kids? Not a real guild? Really!?

I know for a fact, that there are grandparents playing the game with their grand-kids to be able to hang out, if only through their avatars. They are not really considered a guild!? (You should cherish this fact, not quash it!)

Guilds like this are supposed to invite outsiders into their personal guild, so they can grow-up into a real guild now? Hardly! These players don’t deserve to be able to open the guild hall they paid for? They wouldn’t benefit greatly by having a guild hall to hang out in, and incentive to play the game more? And to think…They paid for it with the expansion pack with hard green cash!

Personally, I paid the full $100 for it, to help development costs, and, help get one sooner. And, so did some of my (“guildies?”). And, now, we are being told that because we all work different shifts, and some are busy raising children, and some are temporarily sidelined with internet connection problems, that we can’t open our guild hall. Nor, earn guild credits for doing things we do. Unless, of course, we pay other players (or, recruit from our other guilds) to help open it. Or, invite outsiders, that we don’t know in real life, into all of our small friends and family guilds?

And, to think, it is just an instance on our computers. One that we paid hard cash for mind you!

I find it really quite insulting, to so many of us, that Colin essentially stated that a small guild with “husbands and wives and kids”, or even one with “3 generations of family”, (you read that right, they do exist in game), is “Not even considered a real guild anymore”. The core values of this game have apparently gone right into the toilet. What happened to Eye of the North values, where we all had our own personal halls to share as we pleased?

The dictionary defines a guild as: “an organized group of people who have joined together because they share the same job or interest.” Maybe we do. Maybe just not in the same time slots.

Personally, I feel that my guild can’t really contribute to much of anything anymore. We can’t even +5 camps in WvW anymore, we can’t earn points for anything to contribute to anything anymore, because we suddenly don’t really count as a guild anymore. Because we all have real lives, and we all work, and play, on different schedules. And, we don’t want people that we can’t call on the phone, or hang out with in real life, in our guild.

But, we do see each other in real life regularly, and can discuss how we probably won’t have a guild hall any time soon, if ever. Nor, can we do anything in game that benefits our guild anymore, because we can’t seem to get 5 of us together at the same time. And, it instantly makes them want to play less, not play more.

Yet somehow our small guild that “Isn’t really considered a guild anymore”, previously, had all kinds of things earned, which have now been mostly taken away. So, to combat abusers of the system, you would quash the true Guild Wars players that have often been with you since the beginning of GW1? Seems more like “Anti-Guild Wars” to me. Yo, computer nerds, you’re now required to join the football team, and cheer-leading squads! Be a part of the new big corporate guild conglomeration! Join the guild union! Show up for guild meetings, or get kicked. 100% rep. guild now taking applications, fill out an application, and we’ll consider you for our big guild, but only if you run approved builds, and can play at least 80% of the time in your designated time slots, and only if you are a profession we need! Shape up and play right!

….Or, you don’t really count as a real guild anymore. No thank you.

We’ll get our guild hall open, one way or another, someday. But, IMHO, it’s not the way it ever was, nor, is it the way it should be now. It’s essentially brings new meaning to being “guild kicked”. And, it’s not exactly fun, nor rewarding, listening to everyone else in game talking about their wonderful new guild halls. While so many of us don’t really even have a chance to open our own, on our own. Feels pretty lousy to a lot of us. Especially due to the $50 to $100 that the rest of us spent towards developing “their” shiny new guild halls.

…Had to be said.

totally agree. wonderfully written

Let’s make a petition?

Everyone is entitled to a guild banner because we had access to it for three years.

And we do not want to pay $ 100 to banners, guild halls and scriber was taken from us. Let’s together ask to remove the restrictions on 3 people. Maybe Colin or someone else will hear us?
They deliberately attracted here causal community, and now we are being kicked out? This is ugly politics.

So, until HOT it was not a MMORPG?

I had a guild, I had banners, I had the opportunity to communicate with people when I want. I was not forced to do it for some buffs.
I deliberately chose GW2, when I left WoW after 8 years played. I played in my own big top guild, I have a lot of raids, I was raid leader. After that, I spent two years playing GW2 the way I really want and I was happy as never before in any mmo. Anet was told – “play as you want” and it was true. Now they took my opportunities and gave nothing in return.
I’m tired of raids and big guilds. And now I violently shoved into a clone of WoW? Again?

Another important aspect. In my small guild I cannot get any banner in HoT. Because some developer shut me access to the guild hall. It is nonsense. Now I must join the big guild or look for this banner somewhere? And who will explain why I should tolerate such discomfort?

So, solo players are paid like everyone else, but will get only a portion of the content.

1 – gliders
0 – guild hall, because I cannot see it, I have small guild with my friend.
0 – guild. Now we have only guild bank and nothing more. All our upgrades gone and we can upgrade our guild anymore, because there is 2 member. And Anet decided, that we must find third. We don’t agree with this.
0 – personal story. Gating.
0 – living world. Gating and grind and nothing more.
0 – elite spec. I play ranger. I play as DD. I don’t want to heal, I want to be damage dealer, as I was for 2 years. I will not play unpleasant spec for raids or something. But even if we forget about it – gating and grind hero points is horrible.
0 – mastery. Stupid grind ONLY in new locations.
0 – new WwW maps. They are ugly and disgusting. I have often admired the beauty of www areas. And now… I can only play on Eternal.
0 – map interface. All green. Did you or did not do hero point or mastery point – it is green. Oo
0 – gameplay. Unplayable solo anymore. Why? This game has been friendly to solo players. She welcomed them. And now you have thrown out MOST part of community over board? Who made the decision to force people to socialize? What for? Do you understand what you’ve done? You have an idea about the consequences? Take a look at feedback.
Draw conclusions. Correct this nonsense. Still not too late to do it …

1/10 in total. Only for gliders. So I paid $ 100 for the glider. ROFL. Great reward for my loyalty and payments over the years.

Other unplayable. But I still believe in the adequacy of Anet. I believe that all of this – it was a mistake that will be corrected soon.
I love this game. And I’m sad to look at what it turned into.

LFR and many kind of difficulty killed hardcore raiding in WoW. It was one of the worst ideas Blizzard. Players don’t want progress, they’re going to lfr and … that’s all. They watched the raid and they are not interested in other difficulties. Semi-hardcore and hardcore guilds becomes more difficult to recruit people for roster. The number of raiding guilds redused (you can see it in wowprogress) compared with votlk.
But WoW was originally a game just about the raids. This situation is perfectly shows that a lot of people are basically tired of hardcore raids and games about the raids (Wildstar, Rift).
It’s useless to compare wow with gv2 in which raids never happened. But, conclusions could be done. Format is outdated.

You should not worry about how much buttons press other players. I will tell you a secret – casuals play not worse than “pro-gamers”. They just have less time to play.

In WoW I have several raids – main raid (progress) and some for alts, where we sometimes took casuals from lfg channel. And that’s what I want to say – they played very well, despite they had low gearscore.

Not need to be a genius to understand the mechanics of classes in MMOs.
Many people don’t want to come to the game on schedule and spend 5-6-7 hours on wipes. Life is too short to waste it on such a heresy.

Of course just like with any game there will be guys who simply want to feel superior, but there are also people like that in pvp. You saying we should remove PvP from the game? Oh and WvW cause you can fight in there too.

I only say, that legendary armor must be like legendary weapon. And if you really want only challenge, you can safely receive for raids skins and titles. Nothing more. Like in fractals or dungeons. Because legendary armor it’s not just skin and you all understand this perfectly.

Here we go again. WoW and doom in the same post. “Years of experience” yet you don’t understand why armor sets with free stat swapping should not be available to everyone.

I understand that perfectly. I know where it leads here in GW2. And you? You so much want to stand near the bank in LA whith OMG unique armor, that close your eyes to what will become the only friendly community in all MMO games? And do not care what will happen to the game?

“WoW” way – a road to nowhere. Path to the past without a future. Gv2 is next-gen MMO. Unnecessary regress

There is smaaall little reason why legendary armor must remain locked behind hardest content in the game. It is called Crafting.

Nothing should belong only to a small fraction of the players in this game. I can go through a raid – this is no problem, I have years of experience in hardmode content.

But why is it necessary? Why this should be tied to the raid content? We have here WoW or GW2? I came to play in GW2. And I want to stay in it – not in clone of WoW.
So legendary armor must be hard-to-get, but only like legendary weapon. Raids must be pure challenge. This is only way to prevent the separation of the community.

That is what I predicted in another topic about the raids. That’s what I’m talking about the second day. Elitists irreparably divide the community. I know what I’m saying – I’m one of them had once been. When I played in WoW. GW2 changed me. I so do not want to see it here, now I’m trying to convey to the community of the danger of division in the 1% elitist and “crowd”.
That is why the legendary armor should be made available not only in the raids. This is the path in the darkness, exactly – in WoW

But in ideal world it must be a pure challenge And the reward would be epic skin and title or something like that. But legendary armor must be like legendary weapon.

Incorrect force people to choose only one way and change the specifics of the game for it. Community reacts badly on enforcement. I’ve seen it in many mmo.
Developers do not listen to community in other mmo and they lost a lot of ppl finally. But I believe in Anet. I believe that they will find a way to solve emerged problem.

PVP is a separate game mode, there is a high possibility some PVPers don’t even touch PVE, that’s why they get some rewards. But you can’t get dungeon skins in any other way, just the dungeon tokens (for PVE players). Adding an option for PVP players to get the new legendary armor would be nice I guess, it just needs to be something that
1) has absolutely nothing to do with PVP reward tracks or
2) if they use the tracks, stop giving track progress in custom arenas (so no farming)
Other than that yes PVPers should get access to Legendary Armor by playing their game mode of preference.

So this is what I’m saying. There should not be only one way to get a legendary armor. Incorrect force players to go to the raid if they do not want to do that. Incorrect make raids as a huge part of the gameplay. It is a way back.

And in the games you play you don’t overcome difficult content? You don’t try to be the best you can be, either to win in multiplayer, finish that hard boss, beat the game on higher difficulties or get a rare achievement? Those are also what people do in video games, those are things players find fun in video games. If I wanted just to see a predefined outcome I’d watch a movie

Of course, I always try to get a personal progress. But I have the right to choose where and how can I get better. For example, now I can go to the dungeon and get skins or I can play in PvP for the same. That is as it should be with the raids. As with the legendary weapon.

That “exclusivity” lasted about 2 months.

You yourself explained why the game survived. Legendary award should not only be in the raids. Is that unfair? I didn’t know, that GW2 is PVE game only about the raids. Seriously? )

The friendly community died when people started complaining about not getting everything, just like the rest of the game works but apparently “raids” are a big deal, but locking other things behind specific content isn’t. The moaning and the QQing about raids is what killed your friendly community not the so called “elitists”.

Game – it is not a job. I worked hard in WoW as a hardcore raider. Only in GW2 I understood that the game may not be a job. The game should be a joy. And GW2 give this joy. You, too, someday will understand this

So, it took 1 day. I have carefully read all that relates to the raid on the forum. And I can say – your friendly community died yesterday. Look at yourself, ppl. There is already half of you positioning itself as elitist, dividing community to the pro-gamers and casual gamers. Already gone requirements of the legendary runes. Already considered the alleged setups, which are only some classes.

Now you promise more rewards only for raids. How is that? People are running to you from WoW and you offer them the same WoW? Ok, they will run from you. No one wants to pay for content that is not available to him.

“If your heal did not come – you can still go to the raid.” OMG, it seems somebody knows nothing about the raids. The absence of even one player, no matter what, may disrupt the raid. Because during the progress raids – every person is important. Learning a new player takes a long time. And not the fact that it will help. So it is easier to move the raid the next day and did not spoil the nerves. This means that no one can “raid at any time.” Just because it will depend on the 9 people. But this dependence on people and communications – it’s not in the spirit of GW2. Nothing will change in comparison to the WoW.

You are trying to bring here raiders, I understand. But it was a game not about raids. Where did you get your casual players, who make up a large percentage of the community? And that also pay for the game? What do you offer them? Where the legendary award not for raids? Where are they to PvP or wvw? They will not be? Not too honest. These players also deserve more.

WoW dies not because he is bad or old. Wildstar failed not because it is bad. This is because this format goes into oblivion. Nobody wants to have a second job in the game. And the raids – is work. The difficult, time-consuming. That leaves no time for anything else. And if you don’t raiding – you’re nobody in these games.

Anet, you’ve created a perfect nextgen game. Why are you doing it the old as kitten of a mammoth? Why did you roll back it in the past? It was so beautiful, so different…

Every day, going to the game I thought – this is the best thing that could happen to the MMO. And now I’m trying to understand only one thing – why?

Friendly community will be lost. Spirit of the game will be destroyed. And all for what? For a small part of “elitist” and their desires?

it is not because it is not required to raid to get the best stats in the game and not raiding wont stop you from doing the other content that you enjoy.

Not certainly in that way. Of course, I have ascended armor. But where can I get the legendary? In the raid. So I’m forced to raid.

I ran away from WoW here, but WoW found me here? Community will be transformed, without a doubt. And not for the better. Anet made a mistake, unfortunately. We all feel its consequences.

All was good in the game. But you seem to have decided to repeat the miserable fate of the WoW? Or Wildstar, who died before it began? Or Rift?
Raids – this is madness. Many, many players have fled here in GW2 from raids, from this obligatory work for the progress of the eternal race. I played WoW since 2005. I passed all the raids in the current time. I came here and I was relax in GW2 for two years and thought it was the best thing that could happen to the MMO. My friends too. We all were hardcore raiders, so i know what I’m talking. And what a disappointment. It is not necessary to repeat the fate of the “Titanic” WoW.
