Yeah. Bring back scar and tattoo armour. Heck, for Asura, you could have Magitech tattoos that have flowing magical energy so they look like circuits.
@Jingleshanks: It’s pretty selfish for it to have been changed for a group of vocal complainers who were just playing at off times, to something that actually reduces the value of the game for people. The only issue that Megaservers fixed was social. The problems Megaservers causes are technical.
Megaserver is quite possibly the worst thing that Anet has done in the history of the Guild Wars franchise. Even running on absolute minimum graphics, it’s impossible now to do World Bosses without massive lag. Even large zergs start getting laggy, and frankly any zerg with more than 16 players is downright ridiculous.
We need to go back to the individual servers for the lag issue alone; it doesn’t even mention the irritation of going from a server where all the players are polite onto megaserver where all the trolls and immature jerks come out.
I have 4Gb RAM and 2GB VRAM on a fast video card. I shouldn’t be having this lag. If not go back to original servers, then limit the number of players in a single instance to a smaller amount.
I’m very disappointed. I paid a lot for this game, and now one of the most fundamental aspects of the game is unplayable anymore! Get off your laurels and fix this, Anet!
It’s not a complaint thread. It’s a question thread.
Behave.
Ending it with calling it a “massive rip-off” would actually make it at least borderline complain thread ^^
No, it would make it an opinion in a question thread. You’re trying awfully hard to try to make this thread into something it isn’t? Do I whiff a troll?
In other words, it’s unbalancing the market. Got it.
Unbalancing?
Not really no. It just makes people more interested in actually paying for gems, which is a good thing for everyone.Considering the point of the cash shop is to provide in-game items that people are willing to spend real money on, thus providing a revenue stream for the company running the game, I’d say that it’s a smashing success.
Saying that unbalances the market is like saying the popularity of the Big Mac ruined the fast food industry.
Actually, the Big Mac DID ruin the fast food industry. Before McDonalds, fast food chains offered quality food for reasonable prices, but the Big Mac was a load of completely garbage, for a slightly lower price, which drove all the good, quality fast food chains out of business, putting many people out of work.
So if you’re going to use that analogy, then yes, they are extremely harmful for the in-game economy. They are Video Game Junk Food; and the popularity among less prudent gamers is making the gold other players work hard to earn worth less. I don’t care if its good for the company; making more money isn’t the only thing a gaming company should be interested in. It should be more interested in the interests of its gamers to keep from losing users from the platform they’re abusing to make quick, sleazy profits. If they keep abusing it like that, before long, it won’t be there for them to abuse anymore. They are showing a distinct lack of appreciation for longevity of their “cash cow”.
Does ArenaNet not have an address for us to forward phishing emails to? Most online games do, so they can shut down the site as soon as possible.
Players don’t seem to think it’s a rip off. Gems increased in price more in a short period from that pick than from any other time in the game since release that I can recall.
In other words, it’s unbalancing the market. Got it.
Then don’t buy it? By doing so, you won’t have to make silly complaint threads.
edit – I LOVE my pick.
It’s not a complaint thread. It’s a question thread.

You can buy bank tabs from the bank window, using Gems (600 per tab)
Do you only get one pick for the $10 price, or do you get one for each character? If it’s just one, it’s a massive rip-off!
I find that I waste a lot of time selecting and changing the price that I want to sell items for by keyboard. If there were small +1 and -1 buttons next to each coin field, and the fields linked dynamically, it would make it simple to drop the price of the lowest seller by 1 copper and post your sale faster; especially if the fields are linked so that dropping a price like 2 silver, 0 copper automatically becomes 1 silver, 99 copper.
I’ve had this problem to, starting today, but it wasn’t easy to end task it. It took 5 minutes for the End Task to happen.
