So all these people who are making a Huge Drama out of this and even quitting or asking for refunds, are overreacting terribly imo.

It’s one thing to sound an alarm. It’s another thing to let what might come ruin the fun you’re having and acting like an angry mob with too many pitchforks.

Incorrect. The gear treadmill is already here. We have already been informed that Ascended gear and infusions will be rolled out pretty much as fast as we can reasonably be expected to grind them out. This is a gear treadmill.

As for “slippery slope” it doesn’t apply since we already fell down a cliff. What was done already was bad enough.

Can you please copy and link the exact place where they say they plan to add more TIERs of gear? cause the only thing close to that I know of is this:

“We will not be adding a new tier of gear every 3 months that we expect everyone to chase after and then get the next set and so on.” which says exactly the opposite! granted they didnt promise to never do it again which is to be expected no company will ever commit categorically to anything but it certainly doesnt mean they will do it either!

This was nothing more then to introduce a little progression on the side for people who want this and thats the FotM dungeon and the progression will not be in the form of new better gear but new and better level of infusions to counteract higher levels of agony !

This is not yet a threadmill. You dont even need exotic armor to play anything in this game much less ascended gear!

This last part a little progression. Look whats happen with 2 bits of gear. Those bits of gear that Arenanet where saying never happens when advertising the game. People bought this game to jump into from time to time and not worry they get left behind like in other MMO’s. PvE and PvPer’s

Which I say again. Thats what they advertised. Been playing MMO’s long enough to know if this Little progression u call it is going to turn into more. If it brings in money it’s gonna happen end of.

I was so happy about this game. I have a family, I don’t have time to play MMO’s for 4-5 hours a night anymore. This game was my answer for still been able to play MMO’s and not get stuck at gated progression due to my real life commitments. But instead the MMO whiners and grinders got there way.

Just want to know if i am able for a refund still. I bought the game on 13 of july. Just before the last BWE, I know normally after so a time there is no chance but due to the massive redirection the game is going and the fact this max level gear no grind crap has now become false.

I hope they have removed any reference to this on any of there adverts or this is false advertising

Would I be able to get a refund. Not once in any game I have asked for a refund. But with such a big company doing this. Such a big lie they have done and openly, which is shocking. I just don’t want anything to do with them now.

Just so disappointed in them.

How can you have fun when everyone is now got the gear treadmill in their head.

OH i want to do a dungeon, wait I can’t, everyone is doing FoTM lvl 20 now. I can’t find anyone to do level 1. So just gonna sit around in LA now for weeks on end.

Then you could counter it saying doing it with your guild. Well the argument with that is Find a guild that’s doing PvE dungeons nowadays thats got space and on level 1.

Most guilds that say they do PvE and PvP basiclly just do Wv3 and thats it. Thats my exp with jumping to 5 servers to find a PvE guild.

They have completely removed the ability to take your time and do what you like for PvE and Wv3 players. It’s now World of Guild Wars. Rush to max level or be left behind.

Anet sold this game on, do what you like and won’t be left behind. 3 months on they changed there mind.

I know about 10% of most MMO players look at there game forums but look at the number of positive and Negitive threads. Negitive wins by a mile

I am with them. I am off back to WoW once again. I do love that game but I was looking for a more relaxed casual MMO. Guild wars has become a more grind fest than WoW so…….

Nevermind I uninstalled the game. I can’t be arsed with another Gear grind game. Just gonna stick with WoW.

GW2 was my relaxing MMO with no worries of rushing etc. But A Net screwed that up.

next question would be. How do I get level 80 exotics if no one is doing the Orr Runs?

is it just crafting then?

Cheers for replying. Atm I thought it was pretty much Orr with no one doing the other dungeons since the new patch. At least that is the case on my server.

Just a quick question, Are people still running Orr for gear now that there is a gear treadmill?

Even tho I am completely again’st what A net have done, and now there is gear checks to get into the new dungeon are people still doing Orr?

I am not even 80 yet because I didn’t see a rush to reach max level but with everyone doing the new dungeon and there is progression, am i wasting my time?

I bought this game for the reason there is no rush. I have taken my time and it was amazing. I am a WoW player and to play a MMO where there is no rush was superb for me. But A net screwed that up.

Anyone that replies to this and says there ain’t gear checks is talking bull. My server there turning down players that ain’t full exotic and there is barely any level 1 of FoTM.

Anyone that says thats what guilds are for, well I put it this way. I been to 4 different servers and i can barely find a guild that does Dungeons. There either SPvP or WvWvW

The dungeons I am seeing is in LA pugs and again there is next to none level 1 runs. Think what it is going to be like when I finally get to 80. Only 57 atm.

Well that’s my £59.99 wasted. I bought this game for the fact there is no gear treadmill. I am not even 80 , This is the first MMO where I took my time and enjoying the content to have fun at the end once I reach 80. Not spending days rushing the levels to start of progression, Been there done that.

Do exploration and the random dungeon and be all casual. I have done the hardcore gear grinds in the past and when this game said there was not going to be any I was like “finally something I can take my time and enjoy”

Now this has been done they can forget it. If I want a gear grind I can go back to wow.

Such a shame, This game has such promise for the casuals and now this.

I am looking for a english speaking (Not UK only guild, had people mistake that before lol) laid back guild thats been around for years, even across games but GW2 is the main game for the guild,

A guild with no time restrictions for when to logon, Just all about having some fun.

I understand realm changes are still free but only once every 24 hours, so I am willing to change server

I am 28 years old with a young family so looking for casual atmosphere, A guild that’s more a community that follow on to other games on a off night, but GW2 is the main game.

I ain’t wanting to move to Wv3 reasons. I found a really attractive PvE guild I am hoping to join but I don’t want to put an app in to find I am going to pay for a server transfer
