I’m going to be upfront — I tend to play for weeks/months at a time then go inactive for long periods of time because I’ve got a severe chronic illness and RL responsibilities.
My last break was 6 months in which I wasn’t on (I ended up in the hospital) and my guild kicked me out even after I told them.
Please don’t post if this is going to be a problem.
I’m not totally comfortable doing voice chat, but I do have discord so if it is a requirement I will use that, not that other program that never worked for me.
Anyways, I mostly do PvE, but I would love to learn how to do more dungeons, fractals and raids. I used to do PvP, but I don’t remember how. :P
I’m 24, so a guild with older players would probably be a better fit.
I’m a ranger and I’m having zero luck here, the health just doesn’t go down at all!
Editing (again): I’m an idiot, I didn’t realize I was supposed to hit the button above my skillbar…well, it works now!

Hi all,
My name is Mere, I’m in my mid twenties, and as with many things I have a busy life, so I’m a very casual gamer, popping in and out of GW for long periods of time.
I’m mostly into PvE although I’d be willing to learn WvW and PvP as well.
Really looking for a guild that will still be there despite my busy schedule, and doesn’t have any chat requirements re: actually talking over the computer mostly because I don’t do those programs.
My last break was 4 months, so if that is at all helpful. I just bought HOT so I can see myself being active several times a week for a few months now.
I can’t even exit the instance to start over! All my armor is broken, no matter what I do I never have the knock out option for the second part – so I’m not sure what is going on in my game.
Any thoughts?
Hey,
I need a casual guild – I don’t play every week nor every month. (It’s been over three months since I’ve last played) I don’t have the time to – I have a busy life. (between my double major, outside stuff, I have not life) So I need something that will allow me some flexibility. I understand guilds don’t want you going inactive, but I am not a hardcore gamer. I play for fun when I have time.
I also don’t do teamspeak/skype. I’m not comfortable with it.
Thanks!
Okay, thank you Lexy! That really helped and I managed to find a group!
Not worth completing the personal story then? I googled it and I didn’t see much about it; and if what you are saying is true, that might be why. If someone got me there, is it soloable? And could I access the personal story from any of the other dungeons? Or do I specifically have to be in the ruins of orr?
I don’t mean to sound rude – but it is very frustrating that even when I ask no one responds even to tell me that it’s difficult and unrewarding.
I can’t seem to get over there. All the waypoints are constantly contested; I die every time I try and get there; plus this is a dungeon and when I ask for help; no one helps me. It’s really frustrating not being able to complete the game; no matter what I try. Advice is much appreciated or help. Help would be great in fact.
It’s honestly discouraging to see so many people ignoring players in need of help.

So..for the past day I’ve put out map calls and used LFG to no avail. It seems nobody is over in malchor’s leap, unfortunately.
I have done this same part over thirty times now and used over 1 gold trying to defeat this guy.
I’d appreciate a little help with this. I’ve gone through the boards and followed the suggestions listed there – none worked for me.
Dunno if it matters, I’m an elementalist and I literally get beaten into the ground. I dodge and evade but it doesn’t seem to matter. I cannot kill the risen spider lords normal form.
So…if anybody is willing to help it’d be much appreciated!
Or, what do you suggest?
