Vertical progression to me is a sure way to segregate the community, between casual and hard core players.

My bf is more of a hardcore gamer and I am the casual one. The horizontal gear concept was what made me want to play this game. It had both appeals for him and I to play the way we wanted. I could lag behind in levels and gear but still be able to play with him without too much fuss. Its hard to progress in a game when I feel like I am no longer the target audience.

Bring on the new Lvl 81 Legendary weapons! =3

They have already made it a point that they want the WoW market and that those are the “dedicated” gamers they are going to go after.

Gear matters, and it will matter more and more. Deal with it, get on the treadmill or go play something else.

Yes it will matter more and more, but that is not what we were promised with the release of this game. I’m sorry, but I am still going to be disappointed for being lied to.

This thread makes me sad to read. I realize just how much Anet lost their initial dream for this game. GW2 was perfectly playable for all gamers, not just the elitist gear grinders. Gear was easily obtainable and content was fun even as a lvl 80 with full exo gear. I feel like this new patch has almost completely undone all the things that made me buy it in the first place.

The reason why The Queen is not interested in Logan is CLEARLY because she is into Rytlock. He is 10x the person Logan is. Logan might be nice to look at but Rytlock is the leader type. If anyone is the kitten for the Queen, its definitely Rytlock!
