Sister Mary Madness- Mesmer [VLK]
Tianu Light Feather- Ranger/HoD since beta
Wow…this thread is soooooo short. Last week we had 3 pages by now. What am I supposed to do at work if there is no forum war to read. Certainly I can’t be expected to do the job I’m getting paid for. :-P
Any guild on ET or DR want to GvG or set some duels up VLK will always be down. Send one of us a whisper in game and we can set it up.
Love you guys ET
And I love DR since it has my name in it.
Or join the Filling up World Vs World Slots [PvEr] guild for duels hahah
Totally worth it. Also, wtf? Where’s the kitten talking and gifs? This politeness is unbearable.
Is this kitten talking enough for you, Morn?
BRING BACK THE RITUALIST!!!! That is all.
We were doing a golem rush in an enemy border land during one of these said short update notices. Ok no prob. We ported golems back to do after patch. Came back in and ALL the golems are gone. People spent gold and used allot of supply building those golems and anet just snuffed them out. That’s bs.

I don’t know whats going on but literally everyone on IoJ borderlands is getting timed out. Like every 5 mins 10-15 players get dc’ed. It’s only on IoJ borderlands too, literally our whole server is dc’ing in our own borderlands…just our BL… this is BS and anet needs to fix this.
That was happening in our bl(HoD) last week….I don’t know what’s up with that. We all got kicked out and couldn’t get back in for awhile…when we were finally able to get back in most our stuff had been taken. It was only kicking us out and not the enemy players.

I’m trying to take trolling lessons from you.
That last one was extremely helpful, ty
(no really)Since this is the first time (since I have no idea when) that our servers have met, I look forward to meeting you again in the future
HoD is on the rise.Oh wait… is that bad too? Server Pride?
School mehDepends on what kind of server pride we are talking about.
Since you take pride in wiping unorganized pugs with a guild group I’m afraid you might be talking about the wrong kind.
I was at that fight and I saw allot of the same guild tags from BP. You say we had our whole server up there?…Um no…small group actually. Most of our forces were either in our bl or defending other points in eb.
And this message is for everyone…QUIT HATING ON THE PUGS…everyone has to start somewhere and just because you’re not in a big guild doesn’t mean you necessarily suck. So servers…be nice to your pugs…there are some real gems out there and we need all the help we can get.
What I’m noticing is that the people who seem to favor (with a few exceptions) this new system of match-ups are also people who are on servers that are either still competitively placed and can at least engage in some satisfactory gameplay – even if they don’t win – or they are on the winning server, steamrolling the other mismatched servers. As mentioned by Insane pancakez: : “. Stop whining, enjoy the week and just know it will be different next week! I mean, for example: I’m from Ehmry Bay. We beat BP and AR 13 weeks in a row. We got bored as you could imagine. Now we’re facing Maguuma, and FA. Like Devon said, tiers are old now but if you want to look at it with the old system FA is T2, Maguuma is T3 and ehmry is T5. We are losing horribly. But we love it.”. Great, but then, you are coming off of weeks of winning, so a few losing streaks doesn’t break morale; it’s just a change of pace in the short term. After all, there’s a chance that you will be matched against 2 previously lower ranked servers next time, and you can win again. That chance diminishes the lower your rank was previously, and the very lowest ranked servers are now continuously facing servers who so outman them that they essentially are incapable of accomplishing anything.
This is not a good situation. I am on Henge of Denravi, but I didn’t get into WvW in the beginning when the henge dominated WvW, but after the TITAN alliance fell apart, when the Henge was in freefall with the loss of the major guilds. So, my experience was mostly with losses week after week. Oddly though, this didn’t bother me, as even though we lost, the battles were mostly interesting, with some tightly contested skirmishes – and even some victories – involved. And let me just say, the players on HoD are some of the best to run with, having had to learn the hard way how to play after the mass exodus, those that are left are a tight group that know how to WvW – I’ve seen smaller forces hold off or defeat larger forces repeatedly. Ultimately, there is just so much that you can do, however, when you are so grossly outmanned; and that is the problem with the current matchup system.
The system now in place is punishing for the “weaker” servers, pretty much locking them out of the WvW experience as they are being completely shut out of the majority of the maps. Look at the screens being posted: EB completely dominated by one server, who in many cases has the majority of one of both opponents battlelands as well. This is not enjoyable in any sense; and after all, that’s why I (and I suspect many players) play: for pleasure. To relax. To enjoy themselves. It’s not a job, it’s not supposed to be frustrating. Yet it is.
This leads to a problem: already, some of the people I usually game with are calling it,
with comments like "this is pointless, why are we doing this?’ and “this is B****, I’m over it”, and the rest of us grow continually more frustrated. Yes, I could go back to PvE, but then, I’ve got map completion, and the content there is not compelling enough to play the maps again. Frankly, its boring – GW1 had much better PvE content; and the living stories are the same thing over and over, basically: Find something. Fight something. Dungeon! Thanks, but already done that.Again, I don’t expect to win all the time, and ranking means very little to me; I just want some good, clean battles in WvW that are, most importantly, FUN. Because this is a game, and I don’t play games to be frustrated. After all, isn’t WvW/PvP the designated endgame? Shouldn’t that endgame be compelling? Right now it isn’t.
Very much this^
There is definitely an imbalance with numbers, and without numbers you are just going to get steamrolled no matter how skilled your player base is. You might have some good battles but ultimately you won’t win the war because you just can’t field enough people to keep control of points you have taken. Or, hell, even break out of your spawn point for that matter.
With the lower tier servers it’s now painfully evident how imbalanced the system is.
Just gaining rating even tho you’re not accomplishing anything on the map is not fun. If I wanted to just play a numbers game I’d break out the board games and turn off the computer. I want to win a battle, kill things, and gain territory to go up in rank. Gain something tangible. Sitting at your spawn point being murdered because you’re outmanned 100v1 is not fun…even if you are gaining rank while you do it. That’s not a real testament to skill.
If there was some sort of population control so it evens out the playing field when you try to enter a BL or EB.
The cap could be based on the lowest population server on that particular map set up in mb 20 player increments or percentage based. So if the lowest # a server can field in Eb is say 70, the other 2 servers can’t field more than a low% more than that each. For the BL’s it would be based on the home servers population. So if you can only get in 30 people in your own bl then the enemy can’t have more than that, but if you go into enemy territory you’re at the mercy of their #’s. Home court advantage.
I think you would really start seeing skilled fights and not just a mindless hack and slash because the server you’re up against can field 30x your #‘s. I really don’t mind losing a fair fight, but c’mon anet, even the 300 died in the end to greater numbers.

The achievement is account based. But if there is a chest each character can get it.

Had problem with trying to bring a party with me. If I brought a team with me the story wouldn’t start. If I went in alone it would run normally.
My friends (8 people) and I are looking for a good server for PVE. We are on Henge of Denravi right now and finding it difficult to do the high level areas like Malchor’s leap with the temples and what not. There just isn’t enough players around to do these types of events. All of us a rarely on game together so it would be nice to be on a server that has allot of fellow PVE’ers to do group events or mini dungeons. Thanks for all your help, community.
