As the other said, it’s instanced group content. It’s certainly doable solo, moreso on classes like the Ranger probably, but if it was your very first attempt then it’s no surprise.
So I don’t quite get the point of this thread. You tried to solo group content and it was too hard. Surprise. This is neither a valid complaint nor does it need adressing.
Try to find a group to do it with.
Actually, personal story dungeon content didn’t let you find people, it has to be a friend invited to join group. It is a storyline dungeon available when you reach level 30. I was also with a Ranger NPC, warrior NPC, and myself a ranger, so in total we had 5 characters.
They are designed for groups of 5, but you can absolutely solo any of them at 80 if you are patient and built for it. Ranger is one of the easiest, just use a drake or a bear with full beast build, signet of the wild, natural healing etc, and stand there and laugh as they tank every boss with barely a scratch. Or now with druid its probably even easier, even more healing, but I havent tried it yet with mine. I’ve done them all with regular ranger and necromancer, some of them are pretty kitten rough but AC should be very doable for most people. If you are having alot of trouble, even having 1 friend with you turns a challenge into a cakewalk.
I know Ranger pets can be awesome… but now they changed it so that many mobs will choose to attack you instead, they chase me all around ignoring my pet!
If you’re soloing a dungeon instead of doing it with the group of five as intended, of course it’s going to be hard. It even warns you before you enter that it’s meant for a group. You probably just clicked through the warning.
Certain players can solo dungeons, but it takes practice and experience. Soloing a dungeon on your first play through a dungeon is pretty remarkable, but it’s also unnecessary.
There’s no bug. You just tried to solo something balanced for five people.
I see, I was thinking “personal” story dungeon I can do it with solo, I have always been solo on GW2, I guess this limits my chances. The point is many guilds say that the early dungeons are pretty easy, but I didn’t think so.
I was reading some reviews, dungeon walkthrough…etc. And I decided to give story mode easiest dungeon: Ascalonian catacombs story (Lv 30) a try.
I ended up running so many hours inside (I did solo with the story characters), dying, reviving, fixing my armor, go back to challenge again..etc. There were places where monsters keep coming out non-stop! I feel like my keyboard is sweaty and I need a rest from pressing all the downed skills furiously.
There were many times I just want to give up, but I was afraid everything would be lost, all that effort wasted…so I kept going on for another hour and another hour….
Here is the info:
http://gw2dungeons.net/ACS
It says this dungeon is the “easiest” one…. really? I am level 80 Ranger with 2 Exotic armor and 1 Exotic weapon, and I can’t believe this is so hard!! Now I got to get the ascended gears before going in the second dungeon…(Lv 40)
I personally believe there could be a bug? Please share your experience,
which level you went in to challenge,
what kind of armor and weapon you had,
and which profession,
did you solo?
Thanks.
Yesterday I was doing my personal story mission and Demolitionist Tonn’s story with Ceera was so sad! I was kinda amazed that GW2 would have this kind of storyline, just not on our main character….
The story is like this: I was going on a bomb task and Tonn was killed there, Tonn is married (but no kids, we all know that in gw2 settings, living beings are created in a different way) so I delivered the bad news to his beloved wife: Ceera. She cried, and screamed, and ran away to die in a cave, saying Tonn promised her that they would be together forever, and he just left her alone, she cannot live without him.. etc. I don’t remember the actual things she said, but quite sad!
Anyway, after that I went and read some other posts from before, many people ask if GW2 would have romance added. I wonder if GW2 will ever have romantic expansion and even have these NPC fighting on your team in dungeons/storyline/maps etc. that would be quite unique.
I am not very good in jumping and often fall from high places and die, it just comes to my mind that whether there is a way to prevent falling and dying?
I saw this youtube video where a player glides through the mountains with wings… is that the way to prevent dying from falling from high places? If so, how do I unlock that feature?
I recently bought some Outfits .. but in Marvel Heros, because the lack of
new armor sets brought me to the insight that there is no reason to play
GW2 any longer. I have 8000 gold and 10.000 gems … but there is simply
nothing i can buy for .. so why farm more ?
I think there’s more than just armor sets in GW2 to play, sometimes I even think the appearance of the characters plays little role
OMG, it does look like UGG boots on a dress… haha, it would be better if they can separate the clothes to make more combinations
So far I think the count outfit and the natural oath’s outfit for women (human race) look nice: one long dress that looks pretty elegant and the other looks “fairy” special. I liked the monk one too, but somehow it’s a bit like a roman slave outfit
