Guild Wars 2

I have the same problem too, please fix it as it is the only thing left in map completion..

Same for me, I can login to the character select screen but when I click on my thief the map loading screen pops up then I get a Network problem error pop up and game restarts…
I did not pay another 50$ to get this really…

I have got the same in-game mail message today and reported the sender already,
Hopefully, he will get banned before being able to hack any account.

I have exactly the same problem for like 2-3 months now
when I start guildwars 2 and go past the character select screen, I keep getting very high spikes on my ping and request timed out(s) then when I close gw2 my ping goes back to normal.
This is so annoying since I am not running anything else on the background and it is clearly some problem with the gw2 server since when I close the client my ping goes to normal.
Note:
I play a lot of other online games, and I never get the same problem.
Please any dev answer as this is so annoying :S

Okay I finally solved the problem after removing this file Local.dat in Documents/Guild Wars 2/
and game is updating normally now
Hope nothing more happens after finishing the update -.-

Hello everyone,

I cannot start the game after the new patch, today I opened the game and then it started its little update at the beginning then game restarted, as it usually does before starting downloading files, but when it started I get this screen “checking for updates” then it totally crashes, I have tried everything I can do but still no change, please check as this is annoying
