You guys really have no idea…

GW1 is still super active, there are lots of alliances with 200+ players that play daily.

Trade in Kamadan will get you any mini or weapon you need. People still do GWAMM regularly if only to sell their account for 300+ USD.

There are even online shops that specialize in leveling up your account up to 50/50 HoM and GWAMM from scratch.

GW1 players for the most part did not move over to GW2 or did not stay long after they did due to significantly different game play, the proportion of cross-over has been low overall. GW1 is still super active with a huge community of older players for which the less strategic aspect of GW2 is less appealing. GW2 really appeals to younger players with a more action-oriented mind set.

The PvP portion is quieter as many players have maxed their titles there and there isn’t as much of an incentive to continue playing compared to PvE where the content is not repetitive.

It is best to do GWAMM at least with one friend, as the time investment is huge and it is nice to be able to play with someone, but using 6 heroes +2 humans is often easier than a team full of humans, as heroes act in predictable ways and excel at shutting down enemies with perfect reaction times. You just need to use a clever set up for their skills.
