Annoying NPC dialogue box when fighting & looting

When doing dynamic events that include npc and mobs of enemies I find it really annoying when I’m trying to stay mobile and collect loot off fallen enemies. I usually mash the loot button to make sure I get all the loot but when an npc is running beside you the dialogue box pops up over the middle of the screen. This interrupts your momentum and requires you to click the box to close it.

Either looting should have its own keybind or talking to npcs while in battle mode should require you to hold down the interact key for 1 second.

Stormbluff Isle server.

I found the first Inquest switch but I cannot interact with it. None of the other switches appear at all. The first 2 force fields in front of the chest are disabled but the 3rd force field is still in place and cannot be disabled because none of the switches are working properly.

This thread is not to discuss whether Orbs should or should not be in the game. This thread is to help stimulate some ideas that Anet can use to improve Orb implementation using the mechanics that already exist in the game.

What if the Orb was not carried from one altar to another by a player character but instead by an NPC. For example, reaching an enemy controlled Orb altar could start a scripted dynamic event escort quest where you defend a Golem or Dolyak carrying the orb to your keep.

Problems with this are npc pathing issues, the enemy would know exactly what route you are taking and will ambush you, etc.

What other solutions can you guys come up with?

Or it would be better if the defeated player could click a “Help, Ive fallen and I cant get up!” button. This would send a message to the chat box for everyone in the vicinity.
Just under the “return to waypoint” button you could have the “request help” button.

I’m sure most people would play good Samaritan and come to help but most people zone to the nearest waypoint 5 seconds after they die.

Maybe the new defeated message could read:
“You were defeated, why not salvage some loot while you wait "

Reward tokens for killing Champion mobs.

Currently there is no point in spending 10 minutes fighting any champion enemies other than for kitten and giggles. The champions should drop a “token” that you could take to Lion’s Arch and trade in for some salvage kits or other rewards.

Either way, there needs to be some better rewards for defeating them. The battles are usually really fun and challenging , especially when the champion is very mobile and can hit hard. But I’d rather go turf 40 regular trash mobs and pick up 30 pieces of loot in same time frame.

Can I view the Trading Post in a web browser?

Ya, those sites like GW2spidy are pulling the data from the website. I just want to know if I can browse it as well

“ArenaNet has build the Trade Market so that it’s loaded into the game from a website.
You can also access this website with a browser and use your game account to login and view all the items and listings. "

Got stuck inside an Orrain Catapult when it crumbled on me.

Map: Cursed Shore
Area: Promenade of the Gods

I was destroying an orrain catapult and was standing in/next to it when it crumbled to the ground and I got stuck inside and was not able to jump, roll or use cantrips to get out. I would have just fast traveled but I was stuck in the rubble and within range of another catapult and was not allowed to fast travel. I died a slow death stuck in my catapult cage.

Total cost: 3 silver for fast travel and armor repair.
