It’s kinda cool about this game, I have yet to find something that doesn’t work. I put away my shortbow after getting the 5000 kill achievement, and now I’m nearly done with longbow too. Gonna start on axes after that.
This also applies to traits and attributes, provided that you aren’t totally foolish with your matchups. I’ve tried both Berserker glass cannon and full Cleric with no real difference in difficulty.
Thus far, I have tried to use three different consumables which award influence to the player’s guild: the Tome of Influence (CE purchase) and two Letters of Commendation obtained through the personal story.
None of these has worked properly. The item always disappears from my inventory but no benefit is granted. It does not show up in the guild’s history. Also (I’m not sure if it is supposed to or not) it does not contribute to my Active Guild Member title track.
At first I thought maybe I was not representing the guild properly, but now I’m certain this is not the case.
After using this trait for a long time, I chose to swap to the other Grandmaster option instead. It’s the one where the pet pulls conditions off of the player.
The reason being, if someone is speccing defensively enough to look at that trait tier, he will not be at the 25% threshold very often. Deaths in pve are usually due to massive hits (1- or 2-shot from a champion, etc.) and Bark Skin does very little to help in that regard. For it to create any benefit, the player must be facing a stream of smaller hits AND unable to heal. In my experience, this circumstance just doesn’t arise often enough.
If it were improved to, say, 50% instead of 25%, I’d take another look.
