Personally i’m having a blast solo roaming with this:

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vNAQNBjYDbkSFaZxSWwhF4axykgxMtiWNO4faR9p2EAaATgRkG-T1CFABLcQAYf/BkUCdlSQAeAAOp8Qf1fq+IAkmuhmUi0wFAIAACgje0je0je0u5NP6NPaSBExWL-w

Note that the site isn’t up to date to the newest patch so the traits are a bit different in game.

If i know i will face a condi build i change my heal to troll unguent. Still testing out new food/stone combos since they got nerfed but overall its tanky, elusive and still packs a punch.

POF Balance

I didn’t had much time to follow everything about POF except for their announcement video and couldn’t find anything useful with search.

My concern is the balance of the game in the new expansion. In the present 2 of the 3 game modes managed to invent a whole new definition of trash tier gameplay mainly (but not only) because of cancer conditions going rampage. So far haven’t heard anything about balancing the situation between condi and power builds…if nothing more they will probably make condi even stronger considering that some of the new elite/weapons are condi focused.

Believe it or not plenty of people quit because of this situation the game is in right now. Even the mighty wvw servers have been merged so the maps wouldn’t be completely empty. Since the “hype” they are trying to build is focused on mounts and new content what assurance do we have that this expansion is not just a quick cash grab? People WILL (return) buy the new expansion to try out the new stuff, there is no doubt in that but from a balance point of view what will keep those people away from quitting the game 1 month after the release? After all, less people means less whales for fashion wars 2.

Tbh what i remember is AI being unresponsive or delayed plenty of time in the past but i always though it was part of being a ranger, like….bugged LB traits or crappy weapon animations (cough sword AA cough)

I would play a berzerker if i wouldn’t knew it will bore me after 1 week in the best case scenario as it always had. Too much of a classic warrior archetype for me.

Dunno about ranger though. The terrible pet control mechanic is what always drove me away from that profession although i remember always being one of the better roamers.

Hello

Been away for more than 1 year and thinking about returning to gw2 for wvw mainly, maybe some spvp here and there too however i don’t feel like playing teef anymore (been playing thief for the most part in 3 years ). Want to switch to something else but after reviewing each profession why i should/should not play it straight off the bat i was left with 2, possible 3 options and i have no idea how they perform currently.

I had a glimpse at the patch notes but overall what i understood was that the majority of the players still running cancer condi builds. I personally dislike playing condi so that is out of the question and i am mainly looking for solo roaming or havoc parties. So, for the tl:dr part here is the million dollar question:

For solo roaming/havoc parties with a power based build which of the following proffesions are worth their salt and why: Dragon Hunter, Chronomancer or Herald?

Hello
i tend to roam with this build
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vJEQNAneRnMdAlkiVhAehAElilqADpA0ACAvn2U7rVpHE7yBA-TVCHwAh1HAVJIhDBwgjAghTAQp9H6r+DQlfAeAABAQAuZb2m3MASBIoWL-w
,nothing special but the abundance of cancer mesmers and scrappers when roaming makes me really salty. I can’t see what am i doing wrong, they are too tanky and whenever i get the in a bad spot and burst them a little they sustain that dmg back pretty fast and after like 5 minutes i’m forced to pull out or die cause they wear me down little by little. How do i beat those proffesions?

First of all my mouse doesn’t have any problems with clicking.
Now to the subject, often when i fight other players my camera get uncontrollable, like in right mouse button stops working. It happens only in guild wars and only in pvp(wvw) which is unbearable like this btw. Is it just me, game kittened up or some kind of hack?

Cute…but that is not how its working in game based on my experience. Lets assume you are a new player in gw2 max lvl and full exotic gear and you are trying to get into dungeons and this is what WILL happen:

1. the profession you play will greatly influence your ability to find a party. If you don’t play a fotm profession this will be your number 1 obstacle to overcome every time you want to do something.

2. Now that you finally got into a party ( no speed run or exp run or anything like that cause you obviously have no idea what to do in the dungeon so that is not for you) ,u can apply plan A or plan B.
Plan A is when you salute your party members and you tell them that you are new and you don’t know what to do and if they can explain you any major mechanic that you need to be aware off so you won’t get instantly killed….but that is not gonna happen. You may try to apply this plan multiple times but there are very high chances that you gonna see the same result. Since this won’t work there is always the plan B in which you pretend to know everything and you try to copy what others do in the fight although you have no idea if what others do is good or bad but still doesn’t matter cause this won’t work either and actually it gets you more hate then the plan A.

There are resource sites like gw2dungeons but reading a lot of stuffs about 1 thing is not even close to experience, in fact it can actually get you more confused by the sheer amount on information on something that you don’t even know how it looks like. But then you have the guilds…oh the good lovely guilds. Getting random invited ( even more when you also receive a copy-paste whisper) is ALWAYS a bad thing, you are better of alone in that regard. Getting into a guild that you could learn something from…hahaha you are very far from what they are looking for so don’t even try unless you want to get completely ignored or made fun off.

New players are getting punished for the simple fact that they are new and obviously lack the skills and knowledge of veteran players, and there is not much you personally can do about it. Its a thing that doesn’t aim only popular games, it affects everything and its tied to this new generation of players, games were simply much better and had better quality when not everyone had a pc or internet.

My dungeon experience was awful and i considered that its not worth the frustration and didn’t bothered anymore, it just adds fuel to hate but this in the present is normal and no matter how many guides you make its not gonna work. It may help 1-2 players but overall things won’t change.

Thx for the help guys,i really appreciate it.

I found this nice guide a while back which is great for explaining the basics of WvW for newer players. Here it is: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B80eaMrkdOdZbDM5R0FhMjlmMzA/edit

That is pretty dope. WvW 101 i guess

Thx for the site guys. Will check it out.
@Reverence I play on Seafarer’s Rest which is tier 1 and i do expect things to be always rough as i could find players only in packs or zerg so far.
@Ultimaistanza I found my server’s forum but got problems trying to get verified…i guess people were afk or busy when i did it.

Hello.
I started playing guild wars last year but was mainly focused on spvp, however now i came back after a long break with the mindset to focus strictly on WvW which is a whole different story from spvp. I am trying to find detailed info about this mode but the only thing i found is the outdated sticky…isn’t there any site or something that can provide info or guides or mistakes you should avoid doing or any kind of stuffs like that because i have two big problems: 1. i currently suck and 2. i hate sucking , so i want to get out of this “Being a burden” state that i feel i am in.
