Has SBI lost a bunch of coverage, or what? You guys destroyed YB last time. Or are you just all on vacay preparing for next weeks brawl?
For whatever reason we have lost a lot of people this matchup. Tonight was the first time there was a short queue in ebg and we managed to take 2/3 of the map. Some of it is holidays, some new content, some ESO beta (that was my excuse), and some is the running rub with the 2v1. Think once we realized this was going on people started to get busy with other things. Hard to get into WvW when your opponents behave in, what some might call, an unsportsmanlike manner. Think FA will have an easier time with us next week than they did before because of burnout from this match.
We have been constantly defending two fronts on every map where we have an objective, after a while it gets annoying especially when individually YB and EB are both terrible, from everything I’ve seen. I think that is what really irks the people complaining in the forums. Individually we would smash them but together its like facing a T1 server, the numbers are overwhelming. When there are 10-15 people dedicated to preventing yaks from going to keeps, a 20-30 man zerg from the other server hitting bay and another 20-30 man zerg hitting the keep on the other side of the map, you know the ppt isn’t going to be in your favor.
That being said, I have not been in a group that has lost to either server in open field unless we were vastly outnumbered and even then we held out for a long time ( and we have been outnumbered, group vs group, pretty much the entire matchup). Screenshot below is one such example, we only ran into the tower after they put the trebs, superior ballista and ac up because we kept wiping them. For me, that is the real victory, and that is what I will take away from this match and I hope the rest of SBI does as well.
Some of the more annoyed SBI might want to think of YB and EB as sticks, individually weak but together they make a pretty strong ( bundle of sticks). PPT is, and always has been, coverage Yaks Bay has better coverage. /shrug
Looking forward to some honest fights from FA and DB next week.
