Care to explain how AM zerg’s arrow carts (built waaay below in the swamp) completely burn everything on top of QL walls in 4 seconds every time they pass by?
Red circles flood inner QL and upper walls like plague. Cannot run away from them…
ACs are way below, as shown by the last screenie, where I’m standing in the AC spot. Good attack angle from there huh?

Amazing and intense fights all throughout yesterday. Had only a few hours sleep after staying til 5am, but it was worth it! Great job and great fun! Thanks all!

Bolt – 7/10 looks nice but too brown and worst aura, nice trails though
Worst aura is no aura. Incinerator 10/10 on empty promises.

I too am mega disappointed by this fake update to the Incinerator. It’s like them fake promotions we get at work these days, with a new title and no payrise. Insulting.
FSP
Maybe they weren’t redy because they also wanted to give them a unique aura? =)
I’m all for it!
If that’s the case, I’ll be more than happy to wait a bit for a hotfix. My incinerator feels very lacking without one compared to someone with a Hunter, say.
But, something tells me it won’t happen and what we are already seeing is the promised aesthetic improvement as is now.
Maybe a dev can reply if we keep the issue current and let us know, because a few people seem to be disappointed quite a bit by this nonsense.

Posted in the Bifrost thread, but since I was commenting re my Incinerator, will repost here to bring dev attention:
I’ve been eagerly awaiting an aesthetic bump for my Incinerator too. But I don’t really see any improvement.
There is still no fiery aura glow or anything like that (like the Hunter, for example) – and while this was not part of the update announcement, even the footfalls are not any better.
If anything, they seem smaller and fade within half a second now. That may be just my perception as I am staring at them too hard, but they are tiny and fade almost instantly :/

Curious to hear how other players are reacting to these changes.
I’m happy, since it appears that those nerfs bothered the farmers. It’s always good to see people who believe they deserve a reward for doing mindless content that could be done by a bot being forced to watch how their so-called “effort” and “dedication” is, in the end, completely worthless.
My only concern is that it’s not enough. ArenaNet really should change the game in order to apply a Final Solution to farmers. Until then, those nerfs are the best we are going to get.
An unnecessary stab at people who do not share your vision of an RPG, perhaps?
Well then, I am too looking forward to the day when ArenaNet changes this game completely and turns it into FIFA 14, just for you, and mails you a PS4 controller.

On days when I had limited play time, I used to farm Southsun after work for a bit to relax, then do a dungeon or three and then farm a little before sleepy time. Over time, I got my legendaries this way (with a lot of farming towards the end of completion, of course), my Dunegons Master titles and my Arah sets and so on – whatever alts needed..
Since the nerfs, I don’t really do much. I log in to do dailies and chat in guild and LA. I don’t really do dungeons either anymore, except CoF1 once a week or so. On days when I have more time to play, I tend to do some WvW and try and hide in Stonemist as a mesmer, whenever it gets re-captured every 10 minutes, since we are now pretty much getting steamrolled in WvW.
So, to sum up, don’t really do all that much anymore and have no goals.

Apparently it means naughty words in Spanish, so they will likely rename.

Before you go running around, saving common simpletons like us from trouble, you should probably do some minor research on the subject.
On the cheap side, it’s like 3g to level Chef.
5g more will get you Artificing.
Rest are a bit more expensive, but around 10g each.

Will echo some of the posters above me – I’m fine with a slight gear treadmill, as long as I can earn the stuff in a reasonable time period, by playing the game the way I like to (i.e. attainable through various activities. i.e. not through crappy Fractals).
FSP
yes i may of sounded hostile but that was not my intent, just dont want the OP getting confused and making investments/dropping investments due to his comment, no mine isnt an oppinion its a fact, you cant state that it is “Fluctuating” when its starting on its 2nd dip, this is my reason for posting. since reaching the high price its stayed roughly the same with clear signs of buying and selling but no fluctuation has taken place to make it as dramatic as what is currently happening.
How about looking at each precursor as a derivative of the stuff that it is actually made of?
Precursors are crafted by people by throwing rares and exotics into the mystic forge. If price of a rare sword goes down, because presumably some material ingredient (such as mithril, elder wood or large bone and whatnot) has gone down in price, then the price of precursor should follow too, as it is a bit cheaper to craft in the long run.
Carrion krait slayer (rare gs) price: http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/15465
Large bone (for example): http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/24341
That said, I don’t see anything resembling a fact in anything you have said, just mere speculation that precursors will devalue, because “it is not a race item”. Should something happen tomorrow, like a massive cut off in supply of t5 mats, price of rares will soar and so should the price of the precursor… Why can’t we say it’s “fluctuating” then?
FSP
Er, yes costs are an assumption just like everything else about everything else in precursor speculation. You suggest throwing exotics endows you with some “extra luck” though..
But whoever has been throwing weapons into the forge (and kept some data about it) has a sample large enough to tell you their estimated long-run probability of getting an exotic out from dumping 4 rares in. For me it’s around ~20% chance.
If you hold all other factors constant and assume any random tiny number for the probability of that exotic turning out to be a precursor (I don’t know, 0.5% or 0.3% or 0.8% let’s say), then the following should be the case:
- 4 exos @ 0.80% chance for precursor, for example
- 4 rares @ 20% x 0.80% = 0.16% chance for a precursor, for example
Unless you are assuming that 4 exotics give a somehow ‘preferential’ chance of a precursor (e.g. 4 exotics give 1% for precursor, but 4 rares only give 0.001%, even though 4 rares have 20% chance of giving an exotic — which is beyond me, as we are talking about a random number generator here), then running the above through a random numbers generator for, say, a 500g budget will in the long run give you more precursors on such a relatively small budget 99% of the time (because probability is so small for it, reduction by 80% of that tiny probability is peanuts) – you want as many tries as you can get!
Throwing in exotics has a much larger standard deviation = much larger risk. You can win big if lucky, and lose 5-fold if unlucky.
And guess which is the likely scenario on such a small budget of 500g?
What am I missing?

Dropping rare in MF random or not requires you to be much more luckier than if you would drop exotic, waste of money to use rare in my mind.
I don’t quite understand the “much luckier” assumption here. Dropping rares into the forge yields a ~20% chance of an exotic, which then has exactly the same probability to be a precursor (say 0.3% or whatever).
Given that a rare sword is 5+ times cheaper then an exotic you throw in, the probability of a precursor is pretty much the same (if not better) when using rares, for a set amount of gold.
It also gives you a larger sample of tries with the forge the RNG)
If you then actually sell any exotics you get back to the trading post, you can make something back and lower your exposure.
So, in the long run 20 rares weapons thrown in should cost you ~7g and return 1 exotic – which you can sell for say 2g, at a net cost of 5g a pop. This gives you 5 batches of tries.
Same odds with flushing exotics and not selling anything back will cost you 8g. It will give you 1 try.

Incinerator and Twilight.
Taking a break from heavy farming for now, but will likely start on either the Juggernaut, Sunrise or the Moot in late June.
FSP
It depends on how you allocate the time that you spend ingame (and how much time you have overall to do mundane stuff in it daily) it took me like 3+ months to forge my Twilight, but then only 6 weeks to get my Incinerator (with good luck on getting precursor quick though), but I had to do some heavy farming routines towards the end (CoF1, Karka, Orr events), and farmed 30-40g a day over last days (no-lifer mode).
The bottleneck will be by and large the gold you need to complete the stuff. Starting on Incinerator I pretty much had all the non-gold stuff almost done (enough skill point for clovers, all badges of honor from WvW, dungeon badges etc, as well as startup gold), but farming money for lodestones and Gift of Fortune (T6 mats) is quite expensive.
All in all, expect 2-3 a months’ job.
And here’s the screenshot of excel spreadsheet I kept track of my progress with, with expected cost in buy-able ingredients (may deviate slightly on current market prices ofc)
Good luck!

Farmed something hardcore for the last 3 days, as I was 90g away in terms of T6 mats from completing my Incinerator:
- Farmed Karka for decent Powerful blood drops;
- Upconverted T5 blood to T6 (viable for own use of T6 blood);
- Farmed some Orr events for T6 dust and sold rest of T6 mats I got;
- Some COF1 runs here and there.
Made the money quite fast and best rate in my observation was the Karka train with the T6 blood drops.
Best of luck completing your bifrost!

Crafting Krait Slayers is worth around 8-10 gold an hour. You need a pretty large bankroll to make it worthwhile as you will be buying tens of thousands of mithril, elder wood, and T5 fine materials. Use buy orders for all the materials; you actually will be crafting the entire time (and stopping cuts into your profits) as it takes a while to refine 10,000 mithril ore into ingots, etc. With a streamlined process you can crank out 400+ Krait Slayers in an hour, and with a margin of a couple silver each you can make 8+ gold an hour off this.
Note that there are substantial risks – when you post, say, 200 Carrion Krait Slayers at lowest offer and immediately get underbid, you could sit there all day waiting for them to sell. You have to know the market well. The margins are tight enough that having to pull and re-list the items will devour your entire profit. You need to really commit to it to make any money; making one or two at a time for a 2 silver profit is really bad.
The profit is there however, if you really want to watch Mithril refine all day.
That’s all I used to do like 5 months ago – Carrion Krait Slayers
And used to watch mithril refine all day too haha!

TL;DR on all the troll replies, but to the OP, not too sure about low level maps, but check for servers getting busy in WvW ranks to get a measure of population involved, maybe.
I am on Far Shiverpeaks, and while I don’t run low level characters through hearts on maps, things seem busy. Some friends on other servers, like Gandara don’t seem to think it’s dead.
Many other servers are fine too I’m guessing.
