About Revenants and conditions

MoonshadeRequiem.1064

I remember back during Beta when Embrace the Darkness (Mallyx elite) had pulsing pestilence on every tick, so any conditions on you were instantly reflected to all foes with an added stack of torment. I wish that version of Mallyx elite was back though I do agree it was kinda busted since some conditions stack duration not intensity.

I would like to see Anet bring that version of Mallyx ult back but change it if they can so that the conditions you put out do not exceed those on you. Ex. Guardian puts 3 stacks of burning on you for 10 seconds, with Mallyx pulsing like it did in beta you would put 30 burn stacks out on that guardian before the 10 seconds of burns were up. If they changed the effect of it so that you only put those three stacks of burn on the guardian and only applied more if more were applied to you then I think the ability would be balanced since you could use it to punish those Burn Guardians that throw 12 stacks on you in under 2 seconds.

The other thing I think they could do to improve on Demon stance for countering condition specs is changing the elite again when traited with the resistance on demon stance skill use trait so that you have perma resistance while its up, its a costly toggle as is, and I’m sure that wouldn’t be too over the top, that or give Embrace the Darkness the added benefit of reducing condition damage on you by 50% or something. Something to merit taking the Corruption Line and Demon stance as a means to counter the condition Meta. Don’t get me started on Venom Lotus Training DareDevils either, those things are SO annoying to fight QQ

Medium Armor Disparity

99% of Medium armor is GW1 style Ranger coat armor~ not sure where the ninja is coming from other than my dreams and GW1 exclusively. Seems like you’re asking for medium tribal, shaman and barbarian type armor, which would be lovely. Anet armor designers will just beat you on the hand with a ruler and force you into a trenchcoat though. Someone really needs to stop those guyz.

Ninja is coming from the Whisper’s Secret and Human Racial Assassin’s Armor lol

The tribal warrior style armor was just an idea for it since it would fit the theme of wild man as well as suit a Druid style character since you know being a plant magic wielding hippy (Druid) doesn’t really work in a trench coat.

As it stands there are only two armor styles (Zodiac and Nightmare) (9 if we count culturals since Norn T1 & T2 plus all Sylvari culturals) that I personally consider alright for a Druid Ranger.

While I do want different armor looks, I can’t say I’m interested in the armors you linked. Doesn’t look anything like I would want my ranger to wear.

If anyone has a different armor set that they think would look alright for a vine slinging, nature mage person please post it. Or if you have any idea as to what you would want for a more Druid Ranger themed outfit post an image. Don’t be solely destructive in your criticism try and add to things by saying what you think would work.

Ok this is something that has been bugging me for a bit and I know it will continue to bother me into HoT as well. Medium armors have two set themes, Cowboy and Ninja. Cowboy can fit for Engineers all fine and Ninjas works for Thieves but Rangers are kinda left on the outskirts of this, they can kinda pull the cowboy look but it doesn’t really fit in with the whole “One with Nature and all her creatures” vibe that it should. Plus with HoT bringing the Druid it brings even more of a “I don’t wanna have a cowboy nature mage” feeling to it, plus I"m not the biggest fan of Norns males either since they have reduced animation fluidity (compare Warrior sword 1 on a Human Male versus a Norn Male). As it stands Norns Predatory armor is the only set that fits a Wildman vibe to me (for medium armor), and its racially exclusive. Could we get an armor set for the other races that fits the kinda feel of Tarzan meets shaman? Something based off of the Aztec Jaguar warriors would also be cool, since it would fit the wild ranger aspect while still being kinda thief like (the warriors were famous for ambushing people from the trees to capture and sacrifice to their gods). Plus we have heavy armors that take from historical locations in the Gladiator & Pitfighter sets so why not borrow from another culture for our mediums. (Yes I know some Charr maybe offended by the idea of wearing large predatory cat skins).

I am aware there is a lack of female examples in my posted links, which is largely due to there either being none (as Patriarchy was a thing back then meant women had kids to raise while Daddy went to win wars and kill things for dinner). I would really appreciate an Anet employee commenting on this as well if possible. Yes I know this should be in a different forum probably but the community creations forum was flooded with comics and such and I doubted it would actually be taken as a serious topic

New possible Gemstore armors/clothes?

Some cool clothing ideas would be:
-a feral medium armor skin since all of the medium armor we have now is more suited towards a bandit/cowboy style of outfit, it would be nice to be able to get a nice set of armor or even an outfit that fits a jungle, “I only go into the city if absolutely needed” kinda feel. I’m thinking like a leather pant and/or loincloth kinda feel like what American Aboriginals traditionally wear, and for the chest some war paint with a few leather straps (female chest coverage). The Face would be painted again and maybe have like a scrap of cloth as a headband. Sample for what I mean on a female https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/3a/5c/21/3a5c21614e6fbb7cd97c9c6a17032fca.jpg
Kinda what I mean for the male top https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/24/8e/91/248e9181ddcd875a7329322334c54963.jpg

-another idea is a fun in the sun style of outfit which would be more a beach style of outfit, with the different races having different styles of swimsuits. Humans would have patterned swim shorts or maybe even jammer style shorts for the men with flip flops, towels across their shoulders and sunglasses. The females would have a bikini top (Southsun Kassmer) with a towel around their waist that still shows some leg, flip flops, sunglasses and a sun hat. Norn males would be in patterned speedos because Norns, with the same accessories as the humans (towel, flip flops, sunglasses), the females would opt for a bikini top with boy-shorts instead of the towel wrap. Asura would be more modest like always so the males would wear an old fashioned swim costume (http://www.allfancydress.com/images/products/zoom/mens-old-time-bathing-suit-costume-891159.jpg) add flip flops and a hat. Females would be in a one piece swim suit with flip flops, hat, sunglasses. Charr males would wear swim trunks with a Hawaiian pattern, sunglasses and towel over their shoulders, the females would wear an open backed (for the tail) one piece with straps over their shoulders, sunglasses, and a hat again. Sylvari would share the human outfits but with floral patterns on the male shorts and the female sarong. The Human, Norn, Sylvari and Charr males can hide their shoulder towels by disabling should armor from appearing, and all races can take off hats and sunglasses by disabling headgear.
Kinda the idea I’m going for on a Male http://www.newsoflegends.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/Pool-Party-Graves-Splash.jpg (yes its from League of Legends lol)

-adding tattoos to humans + more tattoo patterns to Norns are also on my list of things I’m hoping for (even if its a Total Makeover kit Exclusive). Also giving Norn Males the option for having no chest hair would be nice too (The Son’s of Svanir get to shave their chests :P)

-On a similar stream the ability to have physiques with scars on them would also be awesome since many Professions are depicted as being battle hardened or Wilderness survivors (Warriors, Thieves, Rangers, Revenents) and that would come with more than a few scratches I’d guess, plus there are Charr in the Black Citadel who brag about battle scars a ton so it would be nice to be able to have them (and no the fur wouldn’t 100% cover them, I’ve seen guys with scars on their faces and the scars result in bald patches in their beards). You could even take that a step further and let us take predesigned scars and paste them on our toons skin in areas (without overlapping to prevent vulgarities)

-also can we please bring back the tribal gear (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Tribal_armor) because it would look super sick on my Necro especially with the Reaper specialization coming
