Your top 5 priorities for WvW-Overhaul

First of all, I want to thank you to take the time to read all the feedback of the still active WvW-players. I actually quit the game after stability changes and the release of the new maps. Since I really loved the old WvW-System and spent thousands of ingame hours leading public- and guildraids I also want to give my feedback here (still hoping that you gonna bring the old system back).

1. Stability & skill balance
As I already mentioned, the old stability system would be the best thing to bring back to the game. The new stack-system completely changed the gameplay – in a pretty boring way for everyone, who played melee or used to lead the first two years after release. With equal groups, it’s more like waiting for minutes until one groups makes a mistake. With unequal groups, the bigger group most likely wins (more cc -> gg). Since you wanted smaller groups having more chances – the old stabi system was way better. If you are really going to change that, I would suggest to wait a couple of weeks for some player feedback, before starting other balances.

2. Fix or revert DBL
I am sure you really put a lot of effort in developing the new maps, they really look quiet beautiful tho. But they are more like PvE maps or EOTM. They are way too huge, contain too much PvE content and towers and keeps are not what they used to be on alpine borders – a nice place to fight and defend. Even tho we got told, that there are no WvW-only-players – trust me, there is a huge number of palyers who mainly did this – playing WvW only. And those people did not play that because of some strange PvE-mechanics, doing events to get adavntages or huge, impressive maps. They played it for fighting other zergs and defending their objectives. For all other purposes, there are loads of PvE-maps or EOTM. So please: Bring back the Alpine Borders!

3. Rewards
I can not really add something useful there since I never really cared about rewards. The only thing you might change is to slightly increase the loot

4. Population balance
Same as the skill balance changes – If you really bring back the old stability and alpine borders I would suggest to wait with that for a couple of weeks. It will most likely bring back many players who quit the game and it would probably be helpful to wait for that population chages.

“Get Tankier [GEAR]” will be holding a giveaway on Saturday the 3rd of May.

We will mostly raid in german, but there will be a few hours in english and maybe some other languages
And maybe Dyver will stream sometimes with “Facecam”.

How long will you stream?
The event will last around 6 hours and it will start around 6:00 PM GMT (8:00 PM CEST).

We had a group of 4-5 hackers here on rs this weekend.
They bugged theirselves in enemies T3 keeps and capped them….

No fun at all and not nice for the whole server -.-

Guilds/Guild-Raids:
The intention here: Improving the rewards for players of active guilds as well as persuading players to join guilds. So the aim is to fortify and increase existing guilds as well as creating new ones.

- Guild-commander: Also a well discussed topic. Actually pretty simple: An icon of a diffenrent color, only visible for players of the same guild. A nice function here could be to prevent the commander the possibility to make the icon visible for players not in the same guild,e.g. trials or leaders of other guilds, to improve the cooperation by not being visible for everyone. This could be enabled by upgrading the ‘Art Of War’-tree.

- Influence: There could be additional levels for gaining influence.At the moment, there is a maximum of 2 Members for each event -> 20 influence. This limit seems kinda low for WvW issues, since guilds are often with more than 10 players on each map and cant recieve more than 20 influence anyways.There could be additionals caps like this:
50 influence for 10 participating players
100 influence for 25 participating players
- Kill-Counter: Also a nice feature, that could be interesting for WvW-active guilds. A counter, located near the influence and guild merits, that shows the playerkills of the entire guild in WvW. This counter can be used for several other features I gonna mention soon.

- Guild-Title/Ranks: Related to the kill-counter.You could invent multiple guild-titles the guild earns automatically by killing set amounts of players. The aim here could be an official ranking, where guilds can measure with others. Player related rankings, in terms of player kills in WvW, would be also a nice invention.

- Guild Merits: I would like to see some improvements here too.Guilds with WvW active players only got no cahnce to earn guild merits in WvW at the moment (you need them for hero banners and so on). By claiming towers or keeps, every guild got the possibility to upgrade and defend this object by using several buffs. You could think about some merit-relatedimprovements here, but the maximum amount of merits each week sould be limited to ~20:
1. Upgrading a tower claimed by your guild from T0 to T3 -> 5 Merits
2. Upgrading a keep claimed by your guild from T0 auf T3 -> 10 Merits
3. Successfully defending a claimed objective while at least 5 guild members have to be involved and the event has to trigger 2 times -> 1 Merit, max. 1 time/hour.
In terms of this I am not talking of increasing the maxmimum amount of merits you can earn each week. It should be a replacement for 1 guild mission

- Guild Buffs: You could expand the ‘Art Of War’ tree like this:
20% faster upgrades (objectives) for 6 hours
10% less supplies needed for upgrades for 6 hours
50% less refill time of Supply-Camps for 12 hours
Unique ‘Opening of the waypoint’ for 5 seconds at keeps in fight (can be done by guild who claimed the keep only, cooldown of 1 hour -> no boosting possible)
Unlocking the ‘Guild-commander’

- Guild Hall: Also a well discussed topic, so i gonna keep it short:
Creating a ‘City of Guilds’. In this town you can rent, buy, increase… your home for merits or influence. There are nearly endless possibilities: Vendors, furniture, … Also special items, unlocked by the kill-counter, would be possible -> e.g. special guild emblems.You could also invent a ‘WvW testing area’: Pretty the same like PvP system, you can test everything you can equip in WvW in this area by not paying anything.So you might be able to use new builds without buying everything before you even know it its good or not. By leaving this area -> Back to normal armor.

So i guess this is enough for the moment. I hope that you guys gonna discuss some of my points and I would love to get a feedback of our dev-team

[WvW] Improvements - Discussion Thread

Hello Community,

my name is Enefes The Superior. I am lead of the guild ‘Get Tankier [GEAR]’ and one of the main commanders on Riverside [DE].

The past few weeks, I thought a lot about things you could change in WvW. By collecting thoughts and impressions of our community and my guild, I was now able to write down everything I got on my mind.

You probably already know some of these ideas, but I wanted to write down everything together in one thread.

In terms of a better overview, i divided my post in 2 categories:

- Gameplay
- Guilds/Guild-Raids

Gameplay:
The intention here is, to improve existing content and introduce some new aspects.

- Laggs:It actually got discussed more than enough, but i want to mention it here anyways.The past few weeks showed, that the performance is directly related to our connected WvW-Server. We experienced 2 Weeks in a row with horrible skilllaggs.We experienced this on EB and borderlands with only 2 servers fighting against each other for up to 10 minutes. With the massive speed-up after the fights we were able to claim object within 2 seconds or open reinforced doors without any problems within 1 minute. Last week we got linked with a better server -> rarely skilllaggs, even while 3 servers fighting against each other.

- Rewards: We could need some improvements here for players who upgrade or scout towers and speed dollys in. It would be nice to improve events for escorting dolyaks or invent special events for supporting the upgrade itself -> If the upgrade is done: Events for players who escorted dolyaks, defeated enemies while upgrading or speeded workers. As a reward for scouts you could invent a special event at upgrade-NPC,where you can e.g. ‘sign up. for 20 minutes as a scout. After this time and not leaving the object you could recieve WXP or some badges of honor. Therefore you’d have to match the maximum number of scouts with the size of the object, invent a range around the object scouts have to stay and a cooldown until you can start the event again. You could also think about increasing the prices for upgrades. As a reward for scouts you could think about refunding the costs for the upgrade to the scout if the upgrade is successfull.

-Achievements: I see also some potential in terms of WvW here.
Following things would be possible here:
‘’King of the Arrowcart’’ -> xxxx Playerkills with arrowcarts;
‘’Sniper’’ -> xxxx Playerkills with ballistas;
‘’Let me in’’ -> xxxx Gates opened;
‘’King of Siege ’’ -> xxxx Walls destroyed;
‘’Do not besiege here!’’ -> xxxx Supplies with traps removed;
‘’Upgrade? No thanks!’’ -> xxxx Supplies removed by trebuchets ;
‘’Stop the Siege’’ -> xxxx Siege-Weapons destroyed;
‘’King of upgrading ’’ -> xxxx Objectives upgraded;
‘’You’re nothing without me’’ -> xxxx Objectives scouted;

- Commander: There are also some improvements here I’d like to see as an active commander..
1. Increasing Squad-size: Often there is more than 1 commander on each map (whether wanted or not) and by limiting the squad size to a maximum of 50 players some players experience a disadvantage when they are not able to join the squad anymore. If you limit the maps to more than 50 players you could do the same with the squad size. In addition to that you also could think about a function for players to ignore the other commanders on map. Moreover you should not be able to see commanders on your blocklist anymore.
2. Increasing the commander-icon size itself: Especially small characters got the problem, that the icon itself is too small or too low. A target mostly fixes this problem, but it would be nice to have the same size and position of every icon.
3. Siege cap near commander: Blocking siege of all players expect the commander himself with like 1200 range near the active commander. Maybe a nice option to prevent trolling.
4. Upgrade the icons: More or less just a nice add-on, but the NPC could sell some upgrades for the icon itself,e.g. payed with badges of honor. Alternative to that you could invent a system,that the icon upgrades itself after a set time of being an active commander, means having at least 20 people in your squad. You could think about other colors, sizes or titles like General, Admiral, … . But as I said, that would be just a nice feature.

- Additional: You could think about following changes too:
1. Claimed objectives should become unclaimed again, when there are no members of the related guild on the map anymore.
2. Inventing a debuff for every NPC bannered by a battle standard. The NPC can not be bannered for like 1 minute anymore. Resing him should be still possible.
3. You sould be able to reset your WvW-Points whenever you want to. You could think about a price of like 2.500 badges here.

Skill lag + rubber-banding

-What server are you on?
Riverside [DE]

-Has there ever been a time when you or a friend are experiencing lag, while others in your party are not?
No, the whole map is experiencing this laggs, no matter if your infight or at the other end of the map

-Has there ever been a time where one party in a map is experiencing lag, while other parties in that same map are not?
No, the whole map is experiencing this laggs, no matter if your infight or at the other end of the map

-Do you experience the lag at very specific times?
Yes, on Borderlands and EB in every fight bigger than 30 vs. 30 or in every fight 40+ with 3 servers included.
EB is even worse: Nearly unplayable at EU prime.
Bigger numbers of fighting players: Not even able to press skill 1, you just stand on one position and port from time to time

After the fights: Massive speed-up (Casts, capture ticks, condition damamge, …)

Hello Community,

my name is Enefes The Superior. I am lead of the guild ‘Get Tankier [GEAR]’ and one of the main commanders on Riverside [DE].

I want to advertise my server here for some NA guilds and players

My function in our community is planning the maps for our Guilds and Commanders. Especially now, facing the season, I figured out that we got massive problems during the night. Our main problem here is, that we lack in commanders. We got a lot of players online when someone leads, but only a few without one.
The enemies in our bracket got a massive zone during the night (about 50-60 ppl), capping nearly everything we defended all day long.
We are tired of losing the entire season again because of having nobody saving points during the night. Our zones and guilds are actually well trained and are able to do well during the day. But it’s kinda sad to lose everything you worked hard for in about 6 hours of enemies ppting.

Here the facts again:
- massive enemy zones during the night
- many players online when theres a commander
- a community thankful for some NA night players
- full support by me and my guild
- timezone: GMT +1
- server-rank: 2

I would of course introduce you to the community and our raid system!
