I don’t think you understand how lottery tickets work. Because that is exactly what the keys are. A bunch of people buy a ticket, some even a few. Out of 100 mil tickets, 1 is the jackpot winner. A few bring a good price, some let you come out even. Most give you nothing. And that is why lottery tickets make money. If you could buy a 1 euro ticket and be guaranteed to win stuff worth between 2 and 2000 euro, the lottery wouldn’t stay in business long. Heck, even if half the 1 euro tickets brought in 2 euro winnings and the rest brought in nothing, the lottery would still die.

This situation is not analogous. You can’t compare a real life lottery where folks spend small amounts of real currency for a chance to win a very large amount of real currency to a situation where people are spending real currency for a virtual product that is worth nothing outside of its virtual domain. I believe that if you’re spending actual currency there should be at least some minimal guarantee that you’ll receive something deemed of worth by the virtual market.

I agree with the majority here — we should get more for our money. The best way to make that happen would be to continue to voice our thoughts on these forums and stop buying keys until changes are made.

Angry Dutch — I totally understand your pain. I did the same thing and only got the skin I didn’t really want anymore and an exotic that resembled the Pearl crafted series as the “framework” for the stats. Live and learn I guess.

To answer your questions directly:

You will need one splitter. The items that come out of the splitter will be soulbound to the character that does the splitting. Here’s the process if you want to get that Chainsaw skin onto an alt:

1.) Buy a blue or white GS from the TP (make sure it’s the TP, not a vendor as those are soulbound on purchase), level doesn’t really matter.
2.) Transmute the appearance (not stats) of the Chainsaw onto the blue/white GS (use the stats from the blue/white GS).
3.) Put the transmuted GS into your bank (will only be account bound at this point).
4.) Switch to the alt you want to have the skin on, use the splitter with that character. When you use the splitter, the original GS (the exotic with the Chainsaw skin already applied) the white/blue GS and sigil should be produced, and will be soulbound to that character.

I’ve had friends transfer legendaries and ascended weapons to alts using this “trick.” If any one notices any of the above steps to be incorrect please let me know.

Essentially you can do this with any soulbound item. I believe jewelry is the only thing that’s ever truly soulbound (never tried transmuting it), as long as you have the cash for the splitter. Please note, you can’t use this to un-bind an item for sale on the TP. I do hope this functionality remains in game.

Just chiming in to reiterate this problem. I inadvertently received my helms through a bugged LA overflow and decided to use the heavy one for sPvP. Strangely I can’t even slot a superior rune in it and it also removed my characters facial hair when equipped for some reason. Both things are a little annoying and it would be awesome to see a fix as they’re unusable in this state.

Yeah, lost out on a daily fractal chest which included an infused Red Ring of Death, which I would have used. I assume there’s no way to get these items back as there’s really no record of them ever existing in my inventory due a server failure. It’s very frustrating to miss out on our rewards after an hour plus of game time due to this technical ineptitude.
If there is a way to receive things lost due to a rollback I’m all ears, not that I’m actually expecting any mod to step in with useful advice.
