I think the question is less that nobody wants it to happen and more about if there was a post already suggesting the same thing in this thread.
I think the main thing would be to keep in style with the races/classes/setting introduced in the game thus far or were introduced in GW1 so can keep the same setting. Most of the weapons seem to be mideval european based with some basic technology introduced by the Charr. There doesn’t really seem to be anything from Eastern/Asian cultures introduced yet in Guild Wars. African, Egyptian, Norse, and European cultures seem to be the main points they draw regular use weapons from.
Charr, Norn, Human, and Sylvari could probably have unarmed combat styles but they would be very different based on race. Charr would probably be claw and fang oriented. Norn and Humans would probably be brawlers. Sylvari would most likely draw from nature to be the closest to a martial artist.
Bows area a specialized weapon that takes practice and longbows generally result in greater range. Crossbows generally lack the longbow range, have more penetrating power, are easier to use in general, and provide better functionality for people in armor for shots as needed.
As far as guardians being short-ranged goes, they can use sceptres and staff as weapon choices.
2H axe if it is added to the game, should go to the classes that can already use 1H axes.
If the clones do no dmg whats the point of empowered illusions in the domination skill line? (illusions do extra 15% dmg)
Illusions includes phantasm skills which do damage but don’t have as much vitality/toughness as clones.
So does that stack with Phantasmal Strength in the Inspiration skill line? (Phantasms do extra 15% dmg)?
It should stack with that trait as well if you are working up both skill lines.

Clones are meant to by more of a PvE and sometimes PvP decoy as well as shatter material. The GS clone is probably the weakest after the damage change since it still uses the initial ranged attack that doesn’t have a secondary effect to the damage like the other clones. Would probably be better utility but even less of a PvP decoy if they used the second attack that throws the sword which bounces and buffs allies/debuffs enemies.
What would change for gameplay if there were a fourth icon above that other 3 that allowed the first summoned phantasm from weapon attacks or phantasms from slotted skills to go inside it to be excluded from shatter type attacks?
