Only an expansion would do Palawa justice, the Living Story would not be adequate enough to tell that story in a way that players would want.
Jungle Dragon is fine, it is a lesser know unimportant dragon I see it as the perfect Living Story filler. I would rather we get such a dragon in the living story rather than ruining good stories with the restrictive development time the Living Story requires. For example good things like the Crystal Desert, Palawa Joko, Dominion of the Winds and Mursaat, should be kept on the back burner for now, till we start getting expansions.
I won’t be happy if they construct the Jungle Dragon story with minor additions of fleeting temporary content. I want the quest to defeat an elder dragon to be unmissable, replay-able and substantial (i.e a large diversity of new maps, quests, enemies and items): it should either be permanent patched content or an expansion IMO. I will probably leave GW2 if they make something this big and important a mere temporary addition.
I’d start packing my bags already then if I were you.
Has a dev suggested that the dragon will be temporary content then? Would be a massive waste to develop an entire elder dragon story only for it to be available for merely a couple of weeks.

It’s certainly possible that the highly temporary content is driving away players. Perhaps if Arenanet added the option to replay the main living world story events (permanently) then less would be leaving?
Temporary content really frustrates me. I like the fact that the world is dynamic, but the fact that it gets removed for good after it is added is extremely frustrating, particularly for those like me who are away for long periods of time due to commitments in real life and thus unable to play the content when it is available, and to those keen to replay the content on other characters in future. It just seems like a waste that all this effort is being put into creating this content by the devs only to be whisked away a few moments after release.
What would be ideal IMO is if the content was added and removed from the world as it is now, but with the option of entering an instance where you can replay the content: some sort of historian NPC would work who you could speak to to ‘relive’ past living world events would be great.
Thanks for the report, folks. I’ll send this in for review.
Hi Josh, could you also take a look at the ranger spirits (we’re having a similar problem) and other ethereal beings such as the Ascalon ghosts? Thanks.
Also ranger spirits aren’t transparent, be they the mini oakhearts on land or the cetaceans underwater. In fact I’m pretty sure this affects almost every npc with an ethereal characteristic- the Restless Arboreal Spirit at the Brisban WIldlands had lost it for example.
I’m pretty sure this is a problem on Arenanet’s end: I’ve never had this before so it’s probably the result of a recent update.
I have also experienced this. What other personal story choices did you make? I chose Iron Legion → Sorcerous shaman → Whispers/Priory/Priory leading up to this, not sure if that affected it.
Hi, I recently began playing as a female charr guardian and have been having a blast. But there are some striking graphical problems when it comes to wearing armor. Here’s a list:
1). Floating pauldrons/shoulder pads: this is a big problem when playing as a charr with one of the lighter body types. My charr has the third smallest body size and some of the pauldrons don’t even connect with her body. After previewing various armours at the PvP locker in the Mists, I realised that this affects most pauldron types with only certain types being unaffected (such as the cultural armor). If the cultural armor pauldrons don’t have this issue then why not make similar fixes with the other pauldron types?
2). Floating shields: again, this is glaringly obvious if you picked one of the smaller body sizes – the shield floats about a foot away from my character’s back when out of combat (extremely noticable). During combat, the situation isn’t much better with the shield floating quite far from the character’s arm.
3). Other floating items: these issues aren’t quite as glaring as the ones above, but it’s still an issue. Two handed weapons worn on the back of charr characters with the slimmer build also float several inches from the back. With the larger body size this is not an issue but it definitely needs work on the smaller bodies.
4). Tooth clipping: a minor issue affecting those of us who went for large, jutting teeth on out charr: almost any mask or helm that covers the mouth has the tips of the teeth clipping through. A bit irritating and silly, but not as glaring as my first two points and probably only affecting a minority of charr players. Still, I’d be happy to see a fix.
So Arenanet, please do something to fix these issues for us charr players. It would certainly encourage many of us to play our charr characters more often! I’m having a great time playing this game, but these issues are marring my experience somewhat at the moment.
Thanks for reading, and please feel free to add any other charr armor issues that are constructive to this thread.
