I have 2 questions regarding the Thief profession, one in pvp and the other in PvE

-My PVP question is are there any plans to make condition dagger builds more viable? Currently the second i put up my bleed stacks they are instantly removed, making it all but impossible for me to put out any decent dmg.

-My PvE question is about the thief’s overall survival in a dungeon. The majority of the time i find it very difficult to not be forced to switch to my short bow when fighting dungeon bosses, because i get blown in half the minute i get within melee range. Are there any plans to add additional durability/healing mechanics to make this less of an issue?

So of the melee options which would you recommend? I generally roll S/P for Pistol Whip spam, and the added AoE that swords provide.

I see many posts about PvP builds, but rarely see anything about PvE builds. I assume this is because the thief is much better suited for PvP than PvE. However, I have recently got my thief into the mid 40’s and have begun running the first two dungeons frequently.

While in the dungeons I have a lot of trouble staying alive while running melee, because i will often times be ‘downed’ in a single hit. So I am forced to roll P/P & SB, I hate them both, and even with the added space I will get an unlucky aggro spike, followed my a mace to the face.

So the point of this post…
- What are some of the most viable PvE builds (melee preferred)
- What are the stats you should stack w/ said build
- What are some useful techniques (i.e. Using shadow refuge on a group of downed team mates to avoid aggro while you res)

So what you’re saying is, “working as intended.” All of these classes are preforming well in the area’s they were designed for.

Thief is essentially an assassin, high burst low survival. As they up their survivability via stealth abilities, they lower their dmg out put. Thats why S/P is called the glass cannon build, they only have 1-2 stealth abilities w/ a high cooldown. There are cons to every pro.

Guardians, has more defensive abilities than any other class… Not even going to point out the issue with that statement.

Haven’t played enough of the Mesmer to speak fully, but I would assume that its natural for a class built with the intent of “Utility” to have more utility than the other classes.

Hello world!

Im not new to PvP, but I am new to GW2, same as the majority of you. I keep seeing people talking about how terrible S/P is in PvP, and dont know why. I generally tear people apart, with the high burst and high mobility.

Below is the build i normally roll with:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/en/?fYQQRAsa4alUmaPHey5E95Ey2jKMn4J/DklODa6lA
(Not claiming it to be the best build out there, it’s just the build i threw together.)

Im looking for a critique of this build, and possibly an explanation of why I should use something else over this.

It should be noted, that I have D/P in the off hand for finishing off low players/team fight clean up/closing the gap on highly mobile classes. Some people prefer to roll Short Bow in the off hand instead, but I dont think the AoE is useful enough to out weigh the amount of chase mobility + DMG + slight survival bump (additional stealth with combo of HS + BP) D/P provides. (+heart seekers % based dmg is nice for meaty classes)
