Yeah I pretty much completely agree except for the part about air turrets being to op. Gotta remember revs will have plenty of stab to go around. But yeah just at a first glance I can see it forcing people to use more small team tactics rather then blobing for sure. Defense should be fun and exciting again, and yes it should be difficult to take towers and keeps that makes the reward that much sweeter. I to would be perfectly fine if it was released tomorrow and was the starting point for the new era of wvw. I was worried going into it because of all the negative talk in this forum, but after experiencing it first hand I can say I’m pleasantly surprised and excited for future beta and release of these maps!!!
Ah, yes just tried that and worked like a charm can manually append .exe to the end works just fine ty sir!!!!
Hi I’m running windows 8 and after I download the client windows asks me what type of file to run the client with as if it is not recognizing it as an executable file. If I choose to use the other client to open it with it doesn’t work properly either. Any help?
Been simply ecstatic over the changes to Mesmer and other classes as well. Even the condi thing which I was worried about seems to be coming along great forces people to have to think of the consequences of not speccing some type of condi removal. TBH I have a lil different take on it then many posts I have seen. Not many things really feel extremely overpowered and infact I think we are getting closer to balance by the moment. Some solid things that all classes “including rager, which as far as I can see has gotten the short end of the stick so far” are….
1. A good punishing burst be in condi or regular damage. Although I think many of the classes bursts need to be toned down a bit not just Mesmer. A burst should but you on your toes not in the dirt instantly.
2. Movment skills that can be used offensively or defensively depending on the playstyle of the person using it. (Mesmer now has just as thief, ele, warrior, and engi. rangers seem to be lacking in this department a bit imo.)
3.Our oh crap I kitten ed button.
Mainly that’s most of it the rest should feel nice and smooth and set you apart a bit from the other classes. I really feel we are getting close with some lil tweaks here and there. I for one am enjoying it very much and can’t wait to see where we go from here.

Very interesting read and sent to me in direct response to my connection problems. I have yet to deal directly with my isp armed with this new information. Something else very interesting I got a list of hundreds of servers in Austin, Texas I have done several traceroutes to multiple different servers. Interestingly enough I get routed directly through comcasts own routers all the way in to Austin except when I try to connect to anets servers……

The pathping results are not very telling as I am learning better how to read the results due to this issue as some of these routers and servers are NOT responding to ping requests anyway. A regular tracert however tells a lil better story.

Although they block ping requests I had much suspicion and even more so now that this is where the problem is. 149ms is way past acceptable for ttl. I get no help from ISP I get no help from the owners of the equipment. I am stuck, and I feel we as the ones with the problems are the only ones willing to do any work whatsoever so why don’t these companies hire us instead of the slugs they are employing atm.
I want to start out with apologies to anet. This situation is very frustrating and even more so now that I am positive I know what the problem is for me at least. The sad part is I don’t know a resolution, but I’m almost certain there is illegal activities on the part of 2 competing isp’s here. So realizing that my packets were being dropped at a router before anet’s servers I called my provider Comcast to come check out the problem. When I finally got a technician here physically I showed him what happens when I get routed through that particular router. He assured me there was nothing he or Comcast could do because they don’t own that router, consequently they did own the router just before the packet loss. Ok makes sense. So as he left I figured my only option is to find the owner of the router so I do a whois on the ip. Come to find out the owners are Level 3 Communications. Wiki time right? Who the hell are these guys and how do I contact them? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Level_3_Communications. HAHAHA interesting, I really liked the part at the bottom under disputes. So when I travel the internet I’m jumping straight from a Comcast router to a Level 3 communications router, which are not just direct competition but have been in major law suits with Comcast. Well anyway I get on the phone with these guys and inform them of my problems getting through their router and they are kind enough and say they are going to look into but as I’m talking to the guy his buddy in the background says he had to reboot some equiptment. So makes sense their equiptment is down so depending on how it’s setup or what is failing I may not get through atm anyway. So atm I’m waiting to see what happens once the routers and or servers are back up. I will be interested to see if i’m able to login after that. Needless to say if you look at the webpage I posted along with my trace log, these ones in particular.

It’s quite interesting as soon as I go from a Comcast owned router to a Level 3 owned router all my data is dumped. If it’s not illegal it should be, both companies should be ashamed of themselves. Although I would say it seems to me Comcast is the bully here Level 3 is just as low. Also the Netflix thing seems to be an issue with these companies, and I know much of the eu base has said something similar about telia. Just trying to get the info I have gathered out there to see what others think and see if we can come up with any solutions. Thanks for your time guys.
“since we have no obligation towards Anet or NcSoft its on there side to send packages elsewhere if issues happen” THIS
Your missing my point I’m not saying anet should build their own isp. I’m saying there seems to be from the logs 1 problem area in na and 1 problem are eu. All they would have to do is vpn around those specific routers to get us past them if the companies are unwilling to help with the issue. I tend to agree with gambit that we are probably intentionally being shoved into a choke point intentionally atm.
Despite the title of the thread this is not just an eu side thing. I am in na and dealing with the same issue. And no it’s not the owners of these problem routers to ensure connection from us to anet that is anets job. That is why I say if they need to setup their own vpns to bypass these routers to get us connected then that’s what they need to do. That or work out a deal with the owners of the other routers because guaranteed anet is gonna lose a lot of customers and money over this.
Well I would assume since we run a client on our side it could determine the route we are taking originally and if problems are arising it could attempt to send us through a different route. Not saying I have done anything like that, but no reason it’s not possible.
Actually if the solution is as easy as setting up a vpn why are you not just doing that so we can play the game anet?
