Right now zone scaling is nice, but remains mostly unused.
How to improve endgame: Remove reward scaling from the zone scaling.
If i get the same drops in a lvl1-15 area as i do in a lvl80 area, it will finally be worth actually playing and spending time in ALL zones regardless of level and do a different farm or fight a different monster to change things up with minimal effort.

A 2nd idea/comment:
Guildwars 1 started in 2005, by this time (2 years later) we had 4 more classes, tripled the game size, and huge ammounts of regular and endgame content were added.
I’ve been gone from this game for more than 1,5 year and…. didnt actually miss anything ! After 2 years finally the game only just seems to have started going for dragon#2. People were expecting to have him killed 6-12 months after release (with 6 dragons that would give GW2 enough content for 3-6 years already) Yet still no sight of real additional content (where is cantha? elona? crystal desert? the other 5 dragons? class/race additions? new skills/weapons? anything to shake things up a bit….).

So the general 2nd idea: speed up development, to a point like GW1, where you get several weeks on new PvE and PvP content every 6-12 months . Instead of 1-2 days of additional content every 1-1,5 year. Casual game is nice, but this is stretching is to a whole new level that struggles to keep people interested and keeps having topics like this pop up.

FPS Issue with the 9/9 patch [merged]

I’ve also noticed some weird things happening to FPS, so some additional (weird) behavior to add to the list. I dont mind it, so im not ticketing it out of fear of it getting ‘fixed’. But maybe it can help somebody else.

Vital signs of the gaming PC:
CPU: I5 4670 (3,4 Ghz, no overclock)
GPU: R9 270 (x2, CF mode)
RAM: 8 gig, believe 1600 type
Storage: Samsung EVO SSD’s.

My FPS: 20. Period. Always. Exactly 20 and nothing else.

Lowest settings, most extreme settings, any random combination. No matter what i do, its always 20. I’ve done various combinations, cleared files, reboots of the game and system (in case it doesnt catch all graphic changes)…. Nothing.

I can see the graphics visually do change on the screen, improving tremendously as i go for most lowest settings to extreme, so it seems the settings no longer affect performance in any way for me. So im now always running at the highest and most extreme settings, regardless of what im doing, and enjoying the scenery as i destroy people’s lifes… err i mean characters.

Only the really big huge fights (kitten zerg vs kitten zerg in wvw, the more active world bosses) does it sometimes fluctuate and go down a bit towards 15-5 FPS. Yes, really, 100+ people going all-out all in your screen finally breaks the 20-fps streak on the kitten high settings. But even at those rates it still remains playable.

So for those reporting ‘fps drops’, go trough the motions and see if on the most high-end of the spectrum you now suddenly have a good playable game instead of having to dial it down for settings like wvw. For me, im now not having to mix/match settings for a nice FPS with visuals – im getting maximum visuals with good FPS.

Mini pet market bubble - A misstake?

Thats one way to look at things. Another way is that post patch, we will get ‘mini-pet consumption’, either from convenience or from people wanting the AP/items that can be recieved trough the wardrobe change.

So where previously, every mini that appeared trough BLC/gem shop, added 1 to supply side, post patch we will have mini’s removed from the supply side as well.

In combination with mini’s that are impossible to get giving a 0 supply (such as year1/2, karka event, etc) it is not unrealistic that this increase in demand without supply (actually negative supply! no additional minis into the game, but they will be removed) forces a price increase. The only speculation is, which mini’s will rise little, and which will make you get all warm inside after flipping.

However now it’s been over a week, and i’m starting to wonder whats going on…

State of CoF Exploit

Is there any news about bans for CoF exploits in general?
It is destroying the market for other exotics, as there is no reason to pay for them. Destroying the market (amongst other reasons) is exactly the reason behind the karma exploit bans…

Would love to do CoF (really like that armor) but i do not dare to go inside. Based on that very same karma-disaster (i was one of the lucky ones getting banned) im expecting a massive ban in both temporary and permanent fashion. And since i already got 1 strike, i dont dare to get any tokens from that place – im risking a permanent ban if i get another mark on my account.
Unless Anet now tells us its OK to abuse exploits, so i can enter there without fearing a permanent account ban if people walk trough closed gates….
