Gonna be season of the Thief. Reminds me of when Dragonhunter when HoT originally dropped. There were two of them on every team, sometimes three, and it was viable. Deadeye feels like that, just, faster to get around too.
I see the nerfhammer coming somewhere down the road. Hopefully we get to actually play for awhile first, though.
I’m a thief, a good one at that. I constantly have new thieves asking me for advice on builds for WvW. That being said, bunker builds aren’t killable for me. Obviously I can get away because I don’t know of a single bunker build that can burst down all my health while I’m stealthing and healing and stunning and rolling. But I can’t kill them. Not the bunker ranger, not the toughness gs warriors, and definitely not the bunker guardian. It really is a L2P thing.
Aquatic fighting will always come second to ground because two things; a) there’s less water than land and b) there’s absolutely no flexibility in water builds. I don’t think big battles ever really happen under water. It’s mostly a way to travel without being a silhouette. Or a shortcut.
Roaming seems to be dead, but you could always guard yaks.
I think it’s hilarious that the exchange has only inflated one-way: it costs more gold for gems, but the rate of selling gems for gold is the same as usual. Where’s the logic in this?
Can we get some screenshots? I don’t really understand what you’re saying. Are you getting error messages or are they simply not appearing in the list of sellable items?
I never used the stuff, but I know a lot of people that are pretty much stuck with 60g in gear that doesn’t have a corresponding useful build. Along with the stealth nerf, thieves got hit hard this patch. Game devs always seem to miss the mark with patches.
After all that…I actually somewhat agree with the sentiment that thief burst is still too high. Still, that’s all the video shows, not that these thieves are somehow impossible to beat.
Yeah, you won the fight. What’s the problem? He hit you really hard 3 times because that’s what backstab builds do and you got back up, murdered him and the ranger. I’m confused about how you wanted this fight to go.
Pistols are a fun build, especially if you have latency issues murdering your heartstrike movement.
I get 8k pretty often, but I find that raw damage builds aren’t as viable for WvW, so I’ve traded a fair bit of my damage out for blinds/survivability.
You can flip it to gold with a little investment. There’s threads about this. Look around the forums.
Sorry, my server was fighting Yak’s Bend for awhile, yak is basically synonymous with noob for me.
In that case, this title is impossible. Maybe 10,000 would be a little more realistic.
There should be rewards for upgrading positions, there should be rewards for laying down siege when a keep is contested etc… there needs to be a reward system in place that rewards those who actually play the game tactically and think about upgrading, protecting what’s theirs.
I agree with this point. Upgraders should be rewarded somehow, like every few minutes that the keep is up they get something, or any enemies killed near the keep should reward upgraders. Just something to encourage less team-oriented (read: selfish) players to actually contribute more than spamming their 1 key.
This math makes sense, except if you’re only getting one kill every 5 minutes then you’re not playing WvW properly. WvW is full of huge battles, and all you need do is hit everyone in the enemy group once to get kill credit for all of them. You can easily defend for 10 minutes and end up with hundreds of kills.
That said, even a kill every minute, every 10 seconds, is not enough to make it to a million in any fair amount of time. Spending 6 months of nonstop WvW isn’t any less insane than 10 years. There are entire armies that never killed a million people. How is one person supposed to?
Same bug on Fort Aspenwood. Can we get some help on these servers?
