This thread quickly changed from my original intended purpose into a “this is what I like, this is what I don’t”, which seems like a more constructive use of space, so I thought I’d edit the OP to reflect this:

The new Trading Post UI includes good improvements we’ve asked for, and that is very much appreciated. But it also took away a lot of things that made the previous UI easy to use. I realize we tend to complain about a lot of updates (not all; the crafting UI was a.w.e.s.o.m.e), but we have good reason to do so. A beautiful Trading Post UI would make the world to us, so we should help you know what we like about it and what we don’t. Let’s give the devs concise pro’s and con’s regarding the new TP.

The original post:

So the devs understand we aren’t crying wolf
The crafting UI upgrade has received near-universal applause (there are a few bugs, but no complaints).
The TP, on the other hand, has received near-universal complaining (with some people being OK with it). We don’t just complain to complain, we complain when something sucks (and we applaud when something is awesome). Eventually we run out of energy and stop complaining (it’s tiring being mad), but that doesn’t make it suck any less, that just means we’ve given up caring.

Do away with "Error attempting to sell"

list 10 things on the Trading Post, then get “Error attempting to sell”, and you can’t list anything else for 1 minute. presumably, this is to prevent bots from listing thousands of things in a short time.
I have to question the effectiveness of this combat.
especially since the last update to this: where it doesn’t go away after that minute is up if you keep trying to sell.

Think about it:
You decide you don’t need any of their chef ingredients and decide to sell all of them. you have like 50 things to sell.
If you’re a human, you would sell, sell, sell, sell, sell, sell, sell, sell, sell, sell, hit limit, swear, exit gw2, watch an episode of big bang theory, come back, sell, sell, sell, sell, sell, sell, sell, sell, sell, sell, hit limit, swear, etc. maybe 480 listings per day.
If you’re a bot, you would be programed to sell, sell, sell, sell, sell, sell, sell, sell, sell, sell, wait 60 seconds, sell, sell, sell, sell, sell, sell, sell, sell, sell, sell, wait 60 seconds, sell, sell, etc. while your owner is watching a movie. so that gives you 14,400 listings per day.

This does not combat botting. It’s similar to a button on a website that says “click here to confirm you’re human.” = stupid easy for a bot programmer to account for, effectively only hindering humans.
really, this is a pro-botting, anti-player device.
If I had to guess why this is there, I would bet something along the lines of someone who didn’t put much thought into it thought it would be a good idea. much like the idea to require the entire chinese alphabet in your password.

a better solution? limit everyone to posting 500 things every day, and maybe also 1 thing every second. this would limit bots to 500 things a day and no human would ever notice (we’re already indirectly limited to this anyways).
And for science’s sake, have the message say that they reached their max listing potential for that time period!
