Do you embody chaos, confusion, and madness? Perhaps you Master time. Mysterious Mesmers [Däzë] is for you.

While we do not aim to replace other Mesmer guilds, we provide you with a community of players focused on making the most of your Mesmer. Whether in PvP, WvW, or PvE our goal is to lead you to satisfaction with your class.

We have only one rule: you must have a Mesmer to join the guild. If you plan to make a Mesmer that is fine, but you cannot join until that process has been executed. While this may be a rule, we also embody chaos, and all rules may be broken arbitrarily.

We focus on:
- Helping players make the most of their Mesmer.
- PvP, WvW, and PvE events.
2. Discussions of, or related to, Mesmers.
1. Mesmer/Chrono builds, gear suggestions, and play styles.
- Mesmer related lore and fan fiction.
4. Mesmer support and advertisements.
- Mesmer focused events.

The guild was originally formed in Guild Wars 1 under the name Psychic Distraction [PD] in 2005 and was later formed in Guild Wars 2 under the current name. We maintain over a decade worth of experience in the class. Many of the players main Mesmer, and are helpful to new and old players alike. We do not have a rep requirement per se, but we urge you to only rep the guild while on your Mesmer.

We sometimes hold events with a focus on Mesmers. They may be in WvW, PvP, or in various areas of PvE. We have people from a collection of servers, and are rebuilding our community to its once former glory. During our peak we maintained more than 100 Mesmers and regularly engaged one another in various activities. We wish to accomplish this again.

You do not have to main a Mesmer, only have the desire to play one.

To respond to the main post…

While I notice that you voice concerns over your feelings that multiple classes maintain downsides, I may point out that this is a Mesmer forum, and as such I will only address the Mesmer-related aspects of your post.

The Chronomancer provides Gravity Well, the regular lineup of Mesmer skills, an innate 25% run buff for the Mesmer (which is sometimes the most important aspect to be honest), and access to a highly defensive offhand weapon.

Yes the DPS is low on a Mesmer/Chrono in many cases. They were not designed to one-shot people (as is claimed by many other classes). Bear in mind that the Mesmer embodies chaos and confusion, and the Mesmer has classically been a support class which implies the presence of other players providing their own set of abilities. The Mesmer commonly provides a niche role in parties ever since GW1 was released in 2005, and I do not personally feel that this should change.

Why should my words even be considered? Well I have played Mesmer since the initial release of GW1, I main Mesmer in both GW1 and GW2, and I have countless Mesmers on my accounts in both games. I read the lore, and I embrace the concepts of mind games and chaos. I also accept that sometimes the Mesmer may fail at a task, and other times she may exceed well beyond expectations. This is simply the nature of chaos. To deny it may suggest that you are missing the point of the Mesmer, and to embrace it can lead to a play style which is more comparable to the ocean. You cannot move the ocean. You may sometimes control some waves, and at times they control you, but in the end the ocean will do as it pleases. Accepting this will help you to accept the Mesmer for what she is: a catalyst, the eye of the storm, and the master of confusion.

Now I can sit here and nitpick the Mesmer/Chrono apart all day, but in the end I would just end up kittening about things which will not change because the changes most people want are to make their desired class overpowered. I know people say they don’t have that desire, but seeing their requests and their suggested changes will many times reveal their true intent, whether they are aware of it or not. I do not expect to win all the time, and I do not expect to always be the core of a team and the supreme champion of all things. What I do expect is that sometimes I may shine so bright that an entire zerg falls or a mission is quite easily mastered. On the other hand, I may be also unable to complete a task at all, and may not fit well in a party.

As we notice in parties with excessively high Mesmer count, the clone spam is quite silly, but in the end that’s really all it is. Mesmers work best in one’s and two’s as part of a much larger group. They are not part of the “holy trinity” nor would I ever wish them to be. They merely embody those aspects of chaos which can turn the tides both in your favour and against.

In the future, please refrain from posting heavily about classes which have nothing to do with this forum. There are many avenues of expression for your concerns and frustrations, but coming to the Mesmer forum to kitten about how weak a druid is really does not fit well. Or perhaps you are a Mesmer too, and only sometimes you follow the established and agreed upon rules.

I would love to see the Siren specialisation as I feel the concept of a Siren fits perfectly into the chaotic mind mage of a Mesmer. With Chronomancer bending time, the Siren bends will, and the concept of life steal and taunt fit very well into the concepts which are present in regular lore of Sirens. I also like the main hand dagger, as I feel it is only fair for a Mesmer elite specialisation to get a main hand weapon this go about.

One awesome thing about subscription games… the developers have a direct vested interest in maintaining customer satisfaction.

Major worst factor in free-to-play games… the developers are better benefited by non-RMT players never logging in again.

Brand new update!!!

- All waypoints have been removed.

- All stairs have been removed.

- We elevated all points on all maps by 600%

- Falling damage is now triple what the old base damage was.

- Gliders are disabled in all maps.

- Traveler’s and Speed runes are removed from the game.

- Each specialisation now requires over 9000 hero points, and we removed all hero points from the game. You may buy them for $5/ea. on the gem store (limit 1 per day).

- All players who enter a down state will now be disconnected from ArenaNet servers for a time period of no less than 24 hours.

We hpe you enjoy these great changes to WvW and Guild Wars. We know you’ll begin to envision the same future for the game that we do (which is saving on our kitten network service bills by making you quit playing after you buy our product discs).

Major WvW overhaul incoming

My frustration with WvW changes primarily has to do with what seems to be a lack of WvW mentality and understanding on ANet’s part.

The new borderlands are really beautiful. Edge of the Mists was a great concept. The major downfall of both maps is that they feel more like PvE. I understand that WvW is kind of a blend between PvE and PvP. I kinda like to think of it as hostile PvE.

The problem right now is that the borderlands are so hostile and difficult to navigate from a PvE perspective, that it makes it difficult to play the PvP aspect of WvW. The maps are too large, the barriers and major elevation changes are too restrictive for movement, and the keeps are too complex to really add that PvP feel to it. Many people are not really “unhappy” with the borderlands when I have actively partaken in, or listened to, their conversations in concern to the borderland changes. I feel the same way. The lack of people on the map is a kind of self-feeding cycle of “I don’t want to go because there is no one there, which means that I am not there so other people don’t want to go either”.

Perhaps reducing or removing the large elevation changes, or adding less dangerous manners more frequently placed manners to navigate these elevated terrain changes. Reducing the active internal keep area so it is more interactive. Mesmer hiding is a kind of art, and there is a lot of fun in the chase. I have mained Mesmer since 2005, and I love the changes to Mesmer. The borderland maps have completely removed that fun in the chase when hiding in a keep. No one is going to find me because the keep is too large to even begin to look.

Garrison and the portion between Garrison and the northern towers is highly restrictive for movement. It seems this is the common theme of the borderlands is the focus on restriction of movement. However, people like zergs, people want to fight, and people cannot easily get to each other in an open area to do so. Tower defence is fun, but by the time you make the run from Garrison to SE tower, it has flipped and the enemies are long gone. The east and west keeps seems to rarely have active waypoints (at least for my server(s)), so it becomes a battle less focused on interaction with players, and more focused on “how do I jump up on that thing so I can keep moving south?”

Edge of the Mists was fun when it came out. It’s also a beautiful map, but two major downfalls are the size and dangerous nature of the map. As such, people do not really PvP there, and instead focus on just running in a circle to karma and XP farm. This kinda seems to defeat the purpose of a PvP map, and it is another example of ANet perhaps missing the point of WvW from a player’s perspective.

I don’t know what these major upcoming changes are going to be, but I would suggest that the maps start to move more towards a PvP focus, and less of a focus on trying to figure out how to not fall or being able to quickly climb a 90 degree incline.

Chronomancer Mantra

Playing Chronomancer and using both the Daze mantra and the Condi Cleanse mantra, when I have full charges (2) on my mantra readied and I enter Shift (F5), I will use both of my mantra charges in shift. With my other skills, when I come out of shift I am back as I was before going in. However, with the mantras, whatever I used in shift carries over to the non-shift state afterwards. Meaning, I enter shift with two charges, use those two charges in shift, and when I come out of shift I have 0 charges and the mantra is still recharging at the normal CD timer that it was while I was in shift.

NA Server Block Update Times

Hey guys, it would be really helpful if you chose to push out the NA server updates during any time other than the NA server primetime. There are 24 hours in a day, and the 4 peak hours seems to consistently have updates being pushed out throughout the main high population time.

Now I understand that you likely spent all day working on code patches, and you want to push them out at the end of the day before you head home, but AU or EU timezones would be much better times for scheduling an automatic push for updates. Many network adminstrators throughout the world have figured out how to schedule updates during network downtimes. It’s a highly ideal configuration, and may also apply here.

We are under new management, and are now accepting all classes, but still maintain a strong focus on Mesmers and Mesmer-related activities.
