Hey all. I’m relatively new to the game. My Engineer is my current favorite character, and only my third. I got a Necromancer to Level 18 before switching to Ranger, and then my Ranger to Level 69 before switching to Engineer. My Engineer is currently Level 45.
My questions mainly revolve around how to build: Once I get my Engi to Level 80 and get all my gear and such, I want to mainly PvP and WvW with him.
I like utilizing a playstyle that revolves around my turrets, while I sort of focus on kiting using them and defending myself. To do this, I run Pistol & Shield Engi, and I run Elixir S as my 9 skill, AED as my healing skill, and Self-regulating Defenses as one of my traits (automatically drink an Elixir S when struck while below a health threshold).
I was wondering how to build to maximize my turret damage while making sure I myself am not useless in the damage department. Note that I’m assuming my turrets inherit the stats I build, such as Power. If I’m incorrect in this, please tell me.
I run Supply Crate and as soon as I can get it I’d like to grab the trait to upgrade it with the additional Rifle Turret. I was thinking since I run Pistol and my autoattack stacks a Bleed while my 2 skill applies Poison, maybe build Condition Damage and focusing on Flame Turret would be a good idea, for the additional Burn and since Supply Crate will let me have two out at once. Would this work?
Of course, I can also have two Rifle Turrets out with the trait, so would building Power be better?

Is there any different VISUALLY between the two Elementals you can summon? The Elite one (Glyph of Elementals) and the non-Elite one (Glyph of Lesser Elementals)?
Hi, first post ever here. I’m not sure if this goes in this forum, but it didn’t seem to fit anywhere else, so…
I was wondering about the various types of summons (I’d use the term “minions” if that didn’t apparently imply I was talking about Necromancer only) each class/race can have. Particularly, I was wondering which summons deal the most damage and which summons can take the most damage.
In terms of damage, I have no clue. I’m screwed around with Necromancer and Engineer and the like, and while it’s probably because I have no clue how to build for damage yet, none of my summons ever really seemed that influential.
When it comes to tankiness, while I have no real clue, I think the Asura’s D-Series Golem, the Sylvari’s Druid Spirit, and the Elementalist’s Earth Elemental are all supposed to be pretty high up there when talking about how much punishment they can take. But I want to know for sure: which summon is the tankiest in the game?
