I’m honestly surprised and a little disappointed that they don’t offer this service. This information needs to be more noticeable, especially for new players, who might not realize that in such a popular game, this is not an option so they can make more systematic decisions.
Ok I am also from Darkhaven and have been having this problem as well for a while but I just fixed it. The trick to get the guesting thing to reset is that you not only have to say you are ‘guesting’ for a different server you have to actually hit ‘play’ while guesting and let the map load for one of your other characters. That seemed to confirm the guesting pass or whatever, and now my character creation screen seems to be fine. Hope that helps!

I’ve been having this problem all day. After selecting “create” from my character selection screen, it just goes to a black screen where all I have is my cursor and music—no error code at all.
I re-configured all of my graphics properties and even completely uninstalled and re-installed the game and still nothing
This is one of the first posts where I don’t see anyone really giving the OP a hard time. Are we actually growing a nice community?!
That is one major thing that I absolutely LOVE about this game. Since day one, I can count on one hand how many…let’s call them “elitists” I have come across. Almost everyone has been friendly and willing to help out. Especially for my post here. On that note: I’m actually REALLY starting to get into WvW. It’s a ton of fun when you get into zerg groups and get into huge battles with other players. I’m starting to pick up how trebs, cata’s, ac’s etc. work and upgrading accordingly. I’ve also been researching how the color rotation works and I did see that it is based on ranking.
As far as map completion goes; I’m not as worried about it now. I feel that when I actually do get it, it will be more satisfying like “I EARNED this :]”
I’d like to thank to everyone for sharing information and helping me open up to a whole other aspect of this game!
I know I’m not the first and only one to post about this but I literally spent ALL DAY in WvW yesterday running around with groups, taking bases and legitimately trying to get this even though I really don’t understand why WvW is required in the first place. They call it WvW but it sure looks a lot like PvP to me. Are there any seasoned veterans that have some tips and/or tricks to better formulate a group that is a little more structured?
I’m sure a lot of you can understand my frustration with the game at this point: (I’m on DR, red team BTW)
