Ranger… I don’t think I’ve ever lost to a ranger. I remember a very good spirit ranger downed me once in a top ranked solo arena match, but he still died. Never even close in wvw

I feel it is significantly more meaningful. I’ve always been a wvw player, but now with improved rank rewards and objective (achievement) rewards, I don’t feel like I have to pve as much for my wvw gear. This was one of our biggest complaints, it was rightfully addressed, and now we kitten?
Still, I’m not a fan of the ruins or the skill lag, but the influx of people to wvw is a good thing for the longevity of the game format. I think the dev team did a good job with this one.
So I’m considering dropping undead runes for full traveler. Mostly for WvW, but I’m not planning on armor switching for PvE. I switch between 30/30/10/, 30/20/0/0/20, and 20/30/0/0/20—all condition builds. I figure traveler would help the terror build and no longer mandate the use of spectral walk (could now take signet of spite or corrupt), but I’m dropping about 175 condition dmg (currently 1657 with no food).
Any thoughts or others taking the same route?
Sorry if I missed something here; I haven’t run a foot in the grave build in a while. Did they fix shroudstomping? I get the animation and the target never dies (no I’m not blinded every time). I’ve missed about 15 shroudstomps today, and I have no idea why.
You can still do this with a necro shroud res at 50. You make it through two ticks…
I’ve put considerable effort and gold into three builds and pretty much settled on condition dmg/duration. I still occasionally run my power gear, but only in wvw, and rarely.
PVE/WvW: 30/30/10/0/0 with rabid/ascended gear, undead runes, and 40%/100 cd pizza. Comes out to about 1700 base condition dmg, 133% bleed duration (max), and 80% condition duration. In general, absolutely rocks, but it is somewhat depressing when a bad guardian instantly clears 5 huge bleed stacks in wvw.
sPvP/tPvP: 10/30/20/10/0 with 2x/2x/2x runes.
I also have a 30/0/10/0/30 berserker/ascended/ruby orb set (d/w & staff)—~45% crit, 120 crit dmg, max power. Fun for WvW and “ok” for farming, but it doesn’t work in high level fotm. Really outclassed in most areas by conditions.
I also tried a large number of might stacking/duration alternatives for power and for conditions… just doesn’t work good enough. Don’t waste 50-70g to try this.
I’ve found the only thing that really works is a full power/crit build. I did the condition thing and tried hybrid for a while (rabid/carrion), but a 30/0/10/0/30 with berserkers and ruby orbs just rocks (invader dagger/warhorn). I run dagger/warhorn and staff with full spectral skills (armor, walk, grasp). Life force builds up incredibly quick, life blast crits 5-8k, and dagger chains with crits can do almost 7k. I usually do fine in 2v1s and have a pretty good win rate in 3v1s against 80s. With exotic/fotm gear and food, I end up with about 20k hp, 2400 power, 50% crit chance, and 120% crit damage
