As na ele this is the perfect excuse for a 3 month break until the next seasonal balance patch. They wanted to destroy the Bunker meta, they did, now it counter-stryke with swords but with less tactic and strategy involved only who can kill the other faster. Support? well I can heal my ally for 1.3k a second for a few seconds with a 20+ second cd, but he takes 2k dmg a second from auto attacks. Clensing conditions? sure! I can clense 3 or 4 conditions 3 times in 32 seconds, but most heavy condition builds can stack 8+ conditions every 3 swings, so that Diamond skin is really worth it, specialy with power weapons putting that one vuln that is clensed instead of the 12 poisons or 8 burns or even the 14 torments melting your face.
Getting away from anything is also not an option, every class as way to many options for close gaps. We cant stand on point, have to juke to not die, and cant deal decent dmg or heal allies worth a kitten , we cant clense conditions well enough on ourselves let alone on others. So I got to ask, what are we good for?

So now w/ the patch..meta build theories?

Well as an elementalist, I feel that a reroll or a 3 month break is in order.
Everything hits too hard, splashes to many aoe conditions, or aoe CC’s too long or to many times for any offensive ele build to be close to viable, there’s just better options. Elementalist right now feels worthless.

If you’re that inclined to embrace self pity, go for it. However, I can guarantee you that playing PvP a week or two from today will feel totally different from playing PvP today. That’s pretty much been the case for every balance patch since this game was released 3 years ago. It’s about as guaranteed to happen as forum QQ like this is guaranteed to show up regardless. =P

@ Serious Thought: Yup, pretty much. Story of thief: Playing dagger – “Omfg, spam 2 more! Noob!” Playing S/D – “Omfg, spam evade more! Noob!” Playing S/P – “Omfg, spam 3 more! Noob!”

At least the QQ over heartseeker has died down in the past year or so…

Maybe you’re right, maybe you’re wrong I don’t know. What I know right now is that pvp is not fun for me, call it QQ if you want. The only tactic envolved is to try and destroy the other team as fast as possibel. Its feels like every duel or fight is an old pre specialization Thief vs Thief, and in team fights its chaos and when the dust settles observe the corpses and see who lost less. That to me is not fun.
Not that the Bunker meta that came post HoT was any good either, so I think I just feel disapointed of not getting a groove back.

I took a look at your build, and looks fun if with a total lack of seriusness. I’ll post my opinions here when I try a few games with it.

So to make things more constructive, what combos of Amulet and Runes do you use? And if you go for a more offensive spec, what trait lines do you chose?

Well, first of all I know its a bit too early to fully explore the full extent of the changes and what they mean, but this is just a post about my first impressions.
The removal of the Celestial Amulet hit us harder then anyone, but the new Amulets bring alot of new options.
The change to Diamond skin was good for the game but poorly implemented, haveing to be hit to get the condi clense on a class with no universal clense or resistance and a low HP pool is a killer against any condi necro or revenant.
The buffs to thiefs autos have made the fight even harder with 1 mistake being an instand down.
The power to remove boons witch we rely on eavily as increased and that makeing surviveing even against one person (necros again) super hard.
The almost complete removal of Amulets with good defensive stats for us with low HP AND armor, makes overloading during a fight (even with stab on) suicide cause that 40% dmg reduction on protection isnt saveing anyone for that long.
The Aura duration nerf haven’t helped their mostly mediocre effects, aside from the magnetic aura and the harder to get shocking aura, the other 2 aren’t very impressive on Elementalist, cause lets face it… we dont really like to get hit very often.
These are just views from a very early stage and solely in the PvP area.
So please share your opinions, i’d like to read about them a lot.

Since the last patch 9-06-2015 my game keeps crashing during loading’s and some events. I’ve reinstalled the game, updated every driver I could and it still happens. Can someone help me with this?

Funny that most people talk that all in zerker is better then everything else, but, in my experience, when doing dungeons the more balanced teams are way more successful. It becomes easier to kill the bosses and everyone survives without much effort. With more inexperienced players playing all in DPS there’s at least 2 wipes per run (Depend on the Dungeon).
In WvW there is also the problem that no one knows what to expect from his allies so going just for damage just plain easier. I for one use support to help protect people during attacks on towers, but that’s just me.
Not an easy thing to fix…

Suggestion: Historian NPCs for Living World

I’d really like to see this type of addition to the game.
But not only for the Living World, I think they could also include the same thing for a characters personal storyline (maybe access through the characters diary).
To me it was really cool in Guild Wars 1 to be able to replay old missions, even if just for nostalgia’s sake.
