Race: Norn
Sex: Female
Profession: Mesmer
Armor Issue: Lupine Leggings (Norn T3 Light Cultural)
Other Armor Pieces: Zhed’s Mask (hidden), Lupine Mantle, Soul of Koda, Arms of Koda, Path of Koda.
Dyes: Celestial, Olive Silk, Turquoise
Issue: It seems that the “shorts” under the skirt part of these leggings is ignoring environmental lighting. I first noticed it in Straits of Devastation at the Pact Rally Point where the lighting isn’t as bright due to the area being undercover, so I decided to take this character to the dark room of Obsidian Sanctum since that place has no lighting whatsoever. Lo and behold, the “shorts” remained white while the rest of the armor, including the parts that I cannot dye, all went black.
I’ve also included a couple of screenshots in LA, one during the day and the other at night, and put them side by side. The left being in the shade near the Tailoring Station, and the right being in the sunlight/moonlight just a few steps away. The “shorts” don’t appear to be affected again, unlike the rest of the armor.
The forth screenshot is the layout of dyes I use. The dyes aren’t all the same on each piece, but I use Celestial and Turquoise on all armor pieces. The colours I have listed above are the ones I use on the leggings.
EDIT – Added a screenshot from the start of the Ember Bay jumping puzzle. The yellow/orange lighting is affecting most of the armor, but again the “shorts” are ignoring it.

To test the DC-ing in Fields of Ruin I’ve interacted with 2 separate master crafter NPCs near the Hawkesgate Waypoint and the whole map crashes immediately. Others on the map confirmed the same thing when they tried to interact with them. It might be an idea to disable these ones too until you guys can fix the problem.

Guild Trader – Bag of Educational Supplies
Thinking that when opening it on my main character who is level 80 that it would give me either scrolls or tomes which I could put in my storage for my lower level characters, it instead it gave me a single spirit shard.
I’m not going to insist that I get my 1 Guild Commendation back and the chance to buy the item again, but I would suggest that the item’s description be clear about what people get when opening it at level 80, or have it only give what the description says.
Again the item available today was a Bag of Educational supplies, still saying that it “contains Scrolls and Tomes of Knowledge”, so this time I bought it on a level 64 Revenant. I was given 2 Spirit Shards when I opened it.
Spirit Shards are not in the item’s description, so why am I getting them? I can kind of understand getting the Spirit Shards when opening the bag on a level 80 character, but not on a level 64 character.

During our Guild’s missions today some of my guildies were not given their personal rewards after the mission succeeded.
We ran Devourer Burrow yesterday for the first time since HoT release. Another guild had activated it just before we started. Our guild members who interacted with the banner were given a prompt to go to another instance, which we all took. The new map still had another active Race which we were able to participate in and everyone got their personal rewards when it succeeded.
Today we activated the Race in the guild panel and went back to Devourer Burrow. Again there was another guild who were part way through. Thinking that we were going to be prompted to go to another instance of the map I had interacted with the banner, but there was no prompt. My guildies all participated and helped the rush succeed, but those who didn’t do the rush the day before didn’t get their personal rewards. Yet another guild activated the Race immediately afterward and those who didn’t get personal rewards ran through again, and again they got no reward when it succeeded.
After those attempts our guild moved onto our other Race mission, we activated it, and all of us who ran through it got our personal rewards when it succeeded. Today at least, it seems that guild members participating in missions cannot get rewards when another guild activates it.
Another question in relation to the Race, was the chest at the end removed or are they bugged?

I have Mawdrey on my Human Mesmer since she is the one I take into Fractals, so I gave my Sylvari Warrior, Natistasis, the cultivated vine. If only the cultivated vine had a little more pink in it, it would match the Nightmare weapons better, but oh well, it still kinda works.

I was at a Tequatl fight just today and noticed several times that my Mesmer’s Mirror Blade skill would sometimes show up with the “Out of range!” message, even though I was clearly within range as you can see in the attached screenshots.
I was taking care of the tendril that spawns between a couple of the northern turrets, and also running to the western battery during the defense stage, and more often than not this skill would miss the tendrils and claim that I was not within range.
I have never had this happen until today.

7/10 — the mouth just seems too squished for my liking, but I’m glad you made the eyes look a little less angry than what they do by default.

Somehow, someone with permissions was able to activate Contract Asuran Outsourcing a few hours ago. Once we decide to use the Guild World Event consumable I will post an update.
Tarnished Coast
I have submitted a ticket (#711450) in regards to this issue and it was suggested that I make a post about it here also.
There are currently two guild consumables that have been fully researched that I, or any other person with the correct permissions, cannot activate. Contract Asuran Outsourcing was built some time in late April or early May of this year, I cannot remember the exact date, and Guild World Event was researched this past Saturday June 29th.
The guild is on Tarnished Coast and has been since early November 2012. No-one was guested on any other server when queuing or rushing through these upgrades. I bring this up as I was told to make sure that I was on the server that these upgrades were made on. I have only guested once or twice away from TC since the megaserver was introduced. We have built many other guild buffs and consumables since the megaserver update and most of them we have had no problems with, it is just those two that I mentioned earlier.
I have made two in-game bug reports about this — one a few days after Contract Asuran Outsourcing was completed and unable to be activated by anyone with the correct permissions, and another one just recently as requested by the GM who replied to my email.
I understand that bugs can take time to be addressed, investigated, and fixed. Now that we have these two upgrades that we cannot use I am hoping that it will be eventually fixed.

One of my favourites comes from a few months after the game’s release. The guild was on one of the borderlands running from NW camp to NW tower. One of our Engineers called out over vent that he was being hit by a Thief up on the cliff overlooking the camp, and I happened to be just a little bit ahead of him so I ran back to see if I could help him, I was playing on my Staff Elementalist this day. When I arrived our engi was downed and the Thief had just started the stomp animation. At the highest point of the animation I used Staff #3 (I was already attuned to air) and knocked the Thief right to the edge of the cliff just before he could finish the stomp. He stealthed with Shadow Refuge and I managed to get the Engi back up. We stayed for a few seconds and found the Thief had jumped down the cliff with about half health remaining, so we both jumped down and killed him. The Engi had labelled that the best save he had ever seen.

Locking traits was a horrible decision. Some traits at the adept stage which you can start using at level 36 require being a much higher level to unlock (eg, story mode dungeons where you will most likely not get a group if you are less than level 80). The other option of buying them with gold and skill points is probably just as bad to a leveling character as they need those skill points for skills themselves. The grandmaster traits being locked I can understand as characters are fairly well developed by that stage.

Server districts would have been a lot better than the megaserver in my opinion.
And now it seems that the guesting system is pretty much obsolete. It was helpful to see if a particular dungeon or Orr temple was open/contested, and helpful to those massive guilds like TTS who could actually pick what map they could use.
Tarnished Coast
I’m sure that I will be repeating a lot of what has been said already, but this is what I feel about the Megaservers.
Waypoints
There are so many contested waypoints now that we have to pay twice to get to where we need to go. I would like to see the amount of contested waypoints be reduced because it is really annoying to waypoint to one part of the map and find that the one that I wanted to go to initially is now uncontested on the map that I have just arrived on.
World Boss Events
My main issue for a while was getting disconnected during a world boss event, and even sometimes a smaller event, I would end up on a different version of that map and miss out on the reward for the event that I was participating in with no way to get back onto the map that I was just on.
Not only that, but the co-ordination that some world bosses take is hard to set up when there is no way to control what map you can be on, and we end up with groups not working together properly.
WvW
With all servers being on the same map, I don’t have that same feeling of server pride. If we had achieved something great for our server, it would be announced and we would be cheering for those who did it. Also, if those on the borderlands needed help from the militia they could feel free to pop into LA and go “hey, we need help on such and such map” and they would be able to get that help. How do we know that we are not talking to servers who we are competing against? We really don’t. We could be giving our opponents a heads up about what is happening.
Role Playing
I come from TC, and while I’m not really a role player myself, it was something that I enjoyed seeing when roaming maps. Now I don’t really see it at all. I have heard disappointment from some of my fellow guildies about how they have been turned off from RPing now because of trolls.
Guild Missions
This is the biggest pain when the weekly rewards reset since every guild would be out in force doing the same thing. There is no easy way to make sure that we are all on the same map. Parties have to be broken up to ‘ferry’ people to the same map. It isn’t too bad to do at the start of challenges/rushes/puzzles, but for a bounty we have a much shorter time limit to work with.
——-
I really hope that the Megaservers will be tuned better soon, but I personally preferred it when each server had their own map.

my PC is already hooked directly into my modem/wireless router (single unit), I have power cycled my router, I have restarted PC, none of it helped, never had any trouble with other patches, just this one. My internet is an ADSL2+ connection.
Same for me. I don’t have Windows Defender active as I have Norton, but I have disabled that to try and get this patch.

I am having this same problem but with the third to last file of the Wintersday update. I get the message that the download has failed at around 54MB. I have tried both disabling my firewall and running the client as an administrator but the result is the same each time.
