Hey, had the bug where I couldn’t access verdant brink after doing the prologue as a friends party, found a solution. If you have a teleport to friend stone and get them to stand in verdant brink you can tele in.
Hi Arenanet,
Don’t normally post on the forums and really that’s bad as when you get stuff right, and you have done lately quite a bit, we should reward you by letting you know, though to be honest when that’s the case I’m probably too caught up online playing, haha.
I came on to let you know I agree with the consensus about rewards. I understand your reasoning for not having mobs drop loot or give xp but it just makes doing a good job of an event feel less worth it so I can hardly be angry at the people who want to maximise their benefit by tagging events and then leaving.
And then in terms of the amounts of blooms we’re rewarded it’s simply not enough. As someone who has given all there free time so far but unfortunately has work and, not unfortunately but still, has a girlfriend who I don’t want to abandon all weekend I can’t participate in every event cycle so I feel I’m left with no options bearing in mind I’ve still put all the time I’ve found into this event.
Either we get rewarded too little or the items are too expensive.
And just one last thing I’ve thought of as I’m typing this, even if I had the time I doubt it would feel like I was incentivised as the daily first completion bonus is worth more than the amounts you get based on how well you’ve done. Going around the map actually completing events I can probably finish with 13 – 16 events finished which would only give me 10 blooms… against, say, 30 if I do just as well my first time around.
It’s just badly balanced. Please look into this, and please either choose to offer more opportunities in the future to earn more blooms or retroactively increase the rewarded amounts based on events completed. The second option may be more complicated than I think, but seeing as you must have records of who completed the events and how many events they had stacked since this is all very similar to the bugged rewards to begin with and how you retroactively fixed that then I think this at least gives you a good starting place if you wanted to increase our rewards.
So please look into this and please let us know what’s being done.
Thank you
Cheers very much, I’ll give it a go now. Should have really thought sooner, but I’ve missed the Dragon Bash stuff up until now so I’m in a mad rush around, haha.
Just as the title says, I can’t currently buy or sell on the trading post. If I go to the Sell my Items tab it’s just empty, even though I have items in my inventory that can be sold on the TP, and if I try to buy items the buy button is grayed out.
“100 for first completion of Tixx’s Infinirarium each day during Wintersday 2012. If players take part in all 5 days, 500 Mystical Cogs will be obtained, enough to craft 2 of the 5 possible toy mini-pets.
Another 200 Mystical Cogs can be obtained from Tixx in Lion’s Arch.”
I know what you mean, but it doesn’t state you can only get cogs for the first 5 days or any first post tour run through of the dungeon. In fact I would say the bit in bold really confuses me, because doesn’t Wintersday run from the 14th of December to the 3rd of January? So 21 days worth of possible 100 cogs? I assumed you could earn extra than what was needed (1250 cogs to get all 5 toy minis) so that people who might be busy and not be able to get on one day for whatever reason, and it’s Christmas so there will be plenty of reasons, will have a chance to get what they need.
Yeah, it just seems logical that we would use 5 frames to make 5 minis. You don’t think to search how many you can make because you just know, or at least think you do.
And yeah, I’m really enjoying the Wintersday event, I don’t hate it. I didn’t get the chance to be on the Halloween Event as much as I might have liked to so I’m relishing the chance now.
Yeah, we’re entitled to our opinions, I mean we’re not being horrible about it. And without people wanting change from GW1, and expressing there opinions, GW2 wouldn’t be how it is now. The exchange of opinions and ideas is what moves things forward. A man who wins an argument gains nothing.
You’re right kitten. I know it has no impact on gameplay, it just irks that OCD part of me. I don’t feel there statements that I saw were very well worded (because I completely mistook their meaning) and with them saying about changing how things were done I thought they might make the game so you can achieve with hard work.
I’m not saying it should be easy, just doable without gems.
Exactly Celtic, thank you. It’s no where near on as big a scale, but I feel just like when I got to the end of ME3, haha.
I hadn’t really looked that hard because I just took it as a given that I could get all 5 through the dungeons.
Thanks for reading through and replying by the way, felt I might have been waffling when I was typing that, haha.
Haha, posting first in my own thread. I just wanted to add, I feel the earmuffs are very reasonably priced in terms of gems.
I’m a little bit disappointed. The reason for this is because I can only get 2 of the 5 toy mini-pets through hard graft in-game. Now firstly, I know you can graft for gold and then currency exchange for gems and then use those to get the other 3 mini-pets, so in effect grafting in-game to get all the minis, but it just feels a bit to much like a ploy to get people to buy gems with real money.
I’m probably just being a bit paranoid. I know in some ways Anet has to promote the fact you can buy gems with real money. And I know certain things can only be obtained through purchase in the gem store. I just feel a bit cheated.
It’s probably also made worse by the fact I was confused about the mystical cogs. I assumed from the wording that when Tixx got to Lions Arch, I could get an extra 100 cogs each day on my first run of the dungeon (didn’t matter which, but you could only get one extra lot per day), when what it actually meant was if you missed a day the first time you complete the dungeon you missed at Lions Arch it will give you the rewards you missed. So I thought with enough coming on each day and replaying the dungeons I could earn all 5 minis directly in game.
I’m a bit OCD and a completionist so I wanted quite badly, and was willing to work for, all 5 of the toy minis. Now I find out I can’t. And I don’t have the gold to afford currency exchanging the gems. I wouldn’t even really want to. I really like the Toy Ventari and the Toy Soldier so these are probably what I will get. But as for the others they don’t shine enough for me to spend money or in game gold on. They are worth my time in game because I really enjoy the content while I’m earning them, but that won’t quite work.
Sorry to go on so much. I really like the Wintersday content, I just feel it has been implemented badly in this area. =[
